A Pokemon A Day on Paper

A challenge of sorts: drawing a Pokemon a day to master basic drawing on Paper by 53.

A second, less terrible attempt at Procreate after almost 3 years. So much more to improve on but in my biased opinion the bunny came out very cute!

First attempt at Procreate a few years ago that I never posted. It’s not great but the app itself is wonderful.

Artwork from high school design class. The prompt was “advertise a theme park” I believe. So I created an advertisement for Atlantis, and no, there is some distance between this and actual originality.

Definitely WIP, but beyond my current Photoshop abilities. Hopefully I’ll visit and add a nicer sky, a nicer sea, and just...generally more realistic shadows.

But I want to finish this and move on for now.

Originally planned to blend the highlights and shadows so they look more natural, but then Espeon looked surprisingly good unblended. Kind of a design-y look. Possibly still WIP but I wanted to finish her for now so I can focus on Umbreon.

Hello from the Johto starters!

First attempt at Pokemon drawing in Photoshop. Layers hide a multitude of sins but I have yet to figure out how to make realistic shadows and highlights.

I love Ice Bear from the adorable cartoon series We Bare Bears. After learning that he likes ice skating and ice rinks, I'm even more convinced that we are soul mates. Here he is doing a scratch spin.

Watching sunrise by the beach. My mom loves the Mon-Mon character, so I drew this for her since I’m working through Paper withdrawal. It’s nice not feeling as if I have a daily deadline.

Last Kanto mon! Well aside from Megas, which is too taunting to think about now.

Drawing a Pokemon a day with Paper has been fun, but my honeymoon period with Paper has worn off. Not done drawing Pokemon of course - I want to spend more time improving my abilities with the traditional pencil / paper, as well as learning other programs for drawing. I won’t miss my accidental finger blending.

Should not have layered on watercolor on top of the reflection. Now it looks like the reflection is barely there.

Zapdos design today. It’s a pretty awesome bird. Bird claws are hard to get right.

Playing with a design-y look, since Articuno has one of my favorite Pokemon designs. It didn’t turn out well, but it was fun (and much faster than coloring and shading).

It’s nice to have a pop of red! I forgot to add grass to the grass.
