#hozier is lesbian
he completely changed the feel of it how magical
HETERONORMATIVITY HAS LEAD ME TO VIEW MR. BRIGHTSIDE THE WRONG WAY FOR 12 YEARS OF MY LIFE, BUT NOW I AM WOKE AND UNDERSTAND THAT MR. BRIGHTSIDE IS THE ICONIC BISEXUAL ANTHEM WE’VE BEEN TRAGICALLY UNAWARE OF
to elaborate: our good friend Mr Brightside never gives us the specifics of whether he is jealous of the the man (who’s chest is being touched, now), the woman (who is taking of her dress, now), or both. Therefore we can draw no proper conclusion to our protagonist’s sexuality, and this is a revelation the entire world needs to know about.
There is an entire possibility Mr. Brightside isn’t straight, tell your friends.
the truth was right in front of our eyes this whole time
Christmas: One woman’s lie about a one night stand that got completely out of hand.

Passing Skies - Seas of Years To forewarn you: this is the aural equivalent of being repeatedly punched in the face. And loving it. Passing Skies is the first track on Seas of Years' first album release, entitled The Ever Shifting Years. I'd listened to a few EP releases by the Swedish post-rock outfit before this album release, and had high hopes for this debut - but this, as the opening track, utterly obliterated any conception I might have had as to how they'd sound. It's full of blistering, white-hot guitars and thundering drums, but it's still melodic - powerfully so, as a result. It does move into a stripped back middle eight to avoid becoming a 6-minute barrage of storm-rock; it's haunting and ominous, but still tight and coherent. The group's technical skill is blindingly clear, and it's with this that they've created a range of tracks which move from explosive face-melting riffs to deeply touching melodies, all held together with shattering drums and thunderous basslines. Needless to say this opener utterly took my breath away - the rest of the album does not fail to live up to the expectations it promises, so if you like the sound of this I urge you to listen to the whole album (especially Lighthouse, Stairwell and Rely on Thermal Winds). Very few bands manage to make instrumental rock work, but I see these guys easily being ranked alongside the likes of Godspeed You! and Explosions in the Sky after hearing this debut (!) It's undoubtedly some of the best instrumental rock I've ever had the good fortune to stumble across. It's fucking mindblowing stuff. (Incidentally, props to Spotify for putting this on one of my study playlists. I felt like a fucking essay god when I first heard it. I swear I've never typed with such gusto in my life) https://seasofyears.bandcamp.com

Benjamin Francis Leftwich - Tilikum
Really looking forward to seeing Ben this evening as he sets off on his pre-album release tour. I’ve been a fan since his first release four years ago, so I’m really chuffed he’s back! This newest single is delicately fascinating. The vocals aren’t so drowned in reverb as they were on 'Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm’, and his crystal-clear, languid guitar work is as entrancing as ever. His lyrics, however, are a little more tangled. I feel like sometimes artists take a little too much poetic licence when writing lyrics, which in this case is frustrating because it trips me up as a listener to what would otherwise be an utterly beguiling track. I can’t quite understand the relationship he’s describing: one moment his pensive ‘lover’ is ‘flying out of hell’ apparently to be with him, the next he’s ‘waiting for your heart to melt’? And why is the whole thing named after the mistreated orca who’s story is at the heart of the Netflix documentary ‘Blackfish’??
Ignoring all this, however, perhaps it’s our hearts that are supposed to melt at Ben’s touchingly simple chorus:
Be my rose, growing in the cold Be my light in the window at home Be my sun, rising in the sky Be my time bomb lover, tonight

Natty Reeves - Paris (Plymouth Remix) http://ift.tt/1MGbHrf
Such an awesome remix. Swaggering beats underpin crisp vocals, padded with fuzzy, buzzing synths. The more I embrace electronic, the more I love it...
(ps WHASSUP GUYS ITS BEEN A WHILE)
