NO FIGHTING IN THE COMMENTS AND REBLOGS
I’m sorry but I hardcore ship Elain and Lucien and Lucien is 100% my favorite character AGH
I just imagine him being a High Lord one day, all powerful and intimidating and such with his scars, and coming to a meeting with a flower crown. 😂
I can get behind this ahuh
WAS NESTA EVER HUMAN?
You know how some people in the fanom had theories that Freyes Mother is not human and that's why she couldn't be saved because she had a sickness that had to do with what she is and couldn't be treated with human healing.
Well you know how Nesta is often enough referenced by Freye how she looks so much like their mother out of the three
What if Nesta is actually the only child their mother had or her mother had Nesta with another mystic/magical type being and she had Elain and Freye with their Father.
It might explain why Nesta was preferred by their mother ( or it would seem so) and how Tamlin, a HIGH LORDS, glamor didn't work on her. How Nesta was able to tell when Freye went into Luciens mind ( even if she was high fae there), also why when Freye went into Nestas mind it was even darker than Rhysands darkness, who MIND YOU IS THE HIGH LORD OF THE NIGHT COURT so you would think that wouldn't be likely.
Freye also noticed how quick Nesta was able to be as still as a Fae, and has been described to tilt her head or look at someone like a predator would.
Even Amren couldn't figure out what her magic was. AMREN this extremely old knowledgeable being.
Also why Nesta is often referred as something else than a simple high fae: by Amren : “We are the same, you and I,” Amren said.
"Not in flesh, not in the thing that prowls beneath our skin and bones …” Amren’s remarkable eyes narrowed. “But … I see the kernel, girl.” Amren nodded, more to herself than anyone. “You did not fit—the mold that they shoved you into. The path you were born upon and forced to walk. You tried, and yet you did not, could not, fit. And then the path changed.” A little nod. “I know—what it is to be that way. I remember it, long ago as it was.”
and the Illyrians immediately recognized Nesta as something other than High Fae.
Then he noticed Nesta.
"What is that,” Devlon asked.
One of the other camp-lords made some sign against evil.
"Is she a witch"
I opened my mouth, but Nesta said flatly, “Yes.”
And I watched as nine full-grown, weathered Illyrian warlords flinched.
“She may act like one sometimes,” Cassian clarified, “but no—she is High Fae.”
“She is no more High Fae than we are,” Devlon countered.
Devlon muttered, “Keep her away from the females and children.”
Nesta is also referred to often enough as a "queen" ( queen without a throne so on) since the first book and will often be referred to as such sevral times through the other books
And of course the scene when Cassian and Freye went to the Carver :
“What if I tell you what the rock and darkness and sea beyond whispered to me, Lord of Bloodshed? How they shuddered in fear, on that island across the sea. How they trembled when she emerged. She took something—something precious. She ripped it out with her teeth.”
“What did you wake that day in Hybern, Prince of Bastards?”
“What came out was not what went in.” A rasping laugh as the Carver laid the shard of bone on the ground beside him. “How lovely she is—new as a fawn and yet ancient as the sea. How she calls to you. A queen, as my sister once was. Terrible and proud; beautiful as a winter sunrise.”
“How the wind moans her name. Can you hear it, too? Nesta. Nesta. Nesta.”
“What did she do, drowning in the ageless dark? What did she take?”
What's intresting here is when the Carver says "what did you wake", perhaps Nestas true power/nature she was born with has been cut off from her but has always been there.
"new as a fawn and yet ancient as the sea."
Reinforces this idea for me.
Also how the Carver talks about how the wind and earth etc talks about her idk the "wind and earth" didn't do that when Freye and Elain emerged apparently.
And the last point I want to make here is when Rhysand flew Nesta down to the townhouse and she got angry and her eyes looked like "Quicksilver set aflame" and Lucien with his magic eye thing also could not identify what it was or what she is:
Until Lucien breathed, “What are you?”
“Is that sort of thing even possible?” Cassian murmured when the door to her room had shut. “For someone to take from the Cauldron’s essence?”
"It would seem so,” Rhys mused, then said to Lucien, “The flame in her eyes was not of your usual sort, I take it.”
Lucien shook his head. “No. It spoke to nothing in my own arsenal. That was … Ice so cold it burned. Ice and yet … fluid like flame. Or flame made of ice.”
If you made it this far please tell me what you think or other theories I would love to know!
Part of a project @cassandrajp and I are working on — a series of descriptions of the Princes of Hell in the Shadowhunters world. Starting with .... Sammael!
Danika Fendyr.
That’s it.
That’s all I have to say.
My biggest heartbreak throughout all of Sarah’s books.
Imagine
Connor Holstrom watching Ithan lead the wolves, the shifters, the dogs, the foxes through the streets of crescent city. Ithan fighting back to back with Bryce, guarding each other, a song of blades. And he has tears in his eyes, of pure pride for his younger brother.
[SPOILER ALERT FOR HOEAB]
Friendly reminder that:
When Bryce kills Micah, first she cuts him into pieces with Danika's sword, and then burns his body. She avenged her friends. He killed them and she made sure that in a way, they were the ones who killed him. Danika's sword and Lehabah's fire. If that's not admirable, idk what is.
Ross and Demelza Poldark reminds me a lot of Hawke and Penellophe! Aw dear, I just want to reread the book all over again!
“Bryce’s face crumpled as she lurched to her feet, sprinting to the Gate She didn’t care how it was possible as Danika said again, “Light it up” Then Bryce was laughing and sobbing as she screamed, “LIGHT IT UP, DANIKA! LIGHT IT UP, LIGHT IT UP, LIGHT IT UP!” Bryce slammed her palm onto the bronze disk of the Gate. And soul to soul with the friend whom she had not forgotten, the friend who had not forgotten her, even in death, Bryce made the Drop”
Sarah J. Maas Live Stream Notes 🌙
Maas’ favourite scenes in each series:
- TOG: When the 13 sacrificed them selves
- ACOTAR: The whole of Mist and Fury
- CC: Non spoiler scen - When Hunt finds Jelly Jubilee
Crescent City non Spoilers:
- Knows how crescent City is going to end
- The names just popped into her head. Like a voice whispered in her ear
- Favourite Magical creature. The otters that carry the messages around from the river court to the surface world.
- The idea for chocolate croissant instead of the Birthday cake came from Sarah’s mother in law wanting them for her birthday. As well as Bryce eating them through out the book
Crescent City Spoilers:
- Some one asked if we ever get to see Beyond the gates of the bone quarter. Maas didn’t answer this because it could spoil future books. But she said she cried when she wrote the scene of Bryce texting back to Connor finally. And seeing all her friend on the other side of the mist in the Born Quarter smiling at her. This scene was inspired by Maas Dad when he had his heart attack he saw his friends when his heart stopped for 20 minutes.
- The scene that she saw in her head that sparked the idea for crescent city was when Bryce was at the gate and all hope was lost and Hunt was dying. And Maas saw the moment when Danika’s voice came through the gate and Bryce ran to it and made the drop. She said that she didn’t know who these characters were but they were separated by death and that they were best friends.
- Lehabah is actually dead. Maas said if she came back it would take away from epic moment she had dying protecting her friends. Maas knew from the start that she would die. In the original write you only meet Lehabah around page 300 when Hunt first did.
- She has Aidas whole backstory planed out. And how he is tied in to everything. Maas said she was terrified of him but into him. She only knew his personality when she started writing him and knew he would have a much bigger role in history later on. He also has a lot of secrets. We also might meet some other Princes of Hel.
- She said she loves Hunt and Ruhn and could talk about them for hours.
LISTEN TF UP
Some of y’all are still in denial that ACOTAR, ToG, and Crescent City aren’t interconnected when
1. The Book of Breathings and the other book titled The Queen of Many Faces (I can’t pinpoint why this sounds familiar. Something to do with Manon or am I making that up??) is found within the library in House of Earth and Blood
2. The bone carver tells Feyre and Cassian in A Court of Wings and Ruin that the “nameless” line runs in THEIR world (presuming it’s Aelin Galathynius he talks about since nameless is her price or it could also be Dorian’s line...)
3. The old fae language, from Yrene finding them with Chaol in the Southern Continent and Amren and Bryce not being able to decipher it fully, is found in all three worlds
3. We know from Kingdom of Ash and this new book now that gates are found within all three book series and people have been successfully opening them up
4. All worlds, according to Aelin in Kingdom of Ash are relatively CLOSE to each other
HOW CAN WE DENY? I SWEAR SARAH IS SCHEMING IF SHE MENTIONED THE BOOK OF MF BREATHINGS IN THIS NEW SERIES
And don’t even get me started on someone’s post (which I can’t find) where they hound in one of Lorcans explorations, and the details he mentions, to the large mountains and waters, sound deadass like Velaris
