Watch as I collapse into myself

And burst anew

A shadow of what once was

Glistening in your evening view

As I am laid to rest

Let my essence be buried into the void

That once nourished and cherished

The loneliest parts of my soul

The memory of me

May be as fleeting as the morning breeze

But may it also provide a similarly tender embrace

For what I have found within the brief moments of unconditional love

Have sparked a blaze

In the crevices of my heart

That you may carry with you

In your darkest hours

And remember oh so briefly

When you find your light
