hello everyone! for the sake of simplicity and also anonymity (i'd like for my personal, private main tumblr to remain personal and private, thank you), you can call me k. i would like to be referred to as they/them here.

this blog is for, as i already mentioned, all things bungo stray dogs. my opinions, my ship headcanons, whatever. this blog is NOT SPOILER FREE as i am caught up! sometimes my posts might include au tangents, rarepairs, random song associations, deep dives whatever. it's one of those "what i want when i want" blogs. asks are open, however, for open discussions WITHOUT hate (because i am not afraid of turning anon off or asks off altogether.)

also: i would recommend you don't follow me if you are not in agreement with osamu dazai "slander", because i am a vocal dazai disliker - block me now if it bothers you, please, because i'm not about to argue about it. you are welcome to your opinion, of course, and i will not be against you if you do happen to like the character. i'm just warning you now that i don't.

sick to my stomach.... sick to my little suegiku heart... tecchou is THE physically STRONGEST of the hds (and we can assume jouno is not as fit considering he seems to prefer doing intelligence work) so he could have easily shoved jouno off.

but he might have hurt jouno doing so, (it was raining and jouno could've slipped or been hurt by tecchou's strength), and no matter whats going on, it's clear to me that tecchou would rather die himself than cause jouno harm. even when tecchou is already focused on something else.

The way I'd pay money to know what Dazai was thinking during that one scene where Kunikida showed Atsushi a photo of Akutagawa and was like "If you see him, run."

Like, genuinely how can one get over the fact that Dazai doesn't care about Akutagawa at all? In the sense that, you have seen this man form relationships with plenty of people around him, regardless of how bad or good his mental state was–

Yet he refuses to even attempt at helping the boy he himself took in?? Unprompted??

How can you not feel even the tiniest sense of responsibility? Obligation, connection, sympathy–

Accountability.

Dazai Osamu is so special a character to me, really. I have consumed an ungodly amount of media, loved and hated a wide spectrum of characters, with varying degrees of morality, and yet never have I wished death, doom, destruction, and degradation on a character as much as I do Dazai. I pray nothing goes right in his life, I pray he never finds meaning, I pray he crumbles under the weight of his own derailing mental health and trauma.

I dislike him immensely.

I see a lot of people making fluff about Dazai finally giving Akutagawa his approval, and you know what? I don't like it.

Akutagawa shouldn't need his approval. Dazai conditioned him into craving through years of emotional and physical abuse, and TO THIS DAY takes advantage of Akutagawa by holding it over his head.

Let my man Akutagawa realize that he doesn't need shit from Dazai and that he can be a strong independent girlboss without him.

SIDE NOTE: I actually think that Akutagawa's character arc will lead to that, and THEN Dazai will approve of him. And that thought still annoys me.

YOUR FAVORITE IS AN ABUSER. i have that same response for if mori is your favorite character. i'm not saying they can't be! i'm saying them being your favorite does NOT erase your favorite has victims. i have no greater pet peeve than a character's fanbase erasing any morally questionable things said character did just because it's your "skrunkly." please enjoy your favorites and not make excuses for them!

idk I don't think it was love and trust that created the current calamity, and I don't think anything they've done in meursault or at the airport has been futile. I don't think the themes fall apart when they're challenged, I think they're reinforced, which is as evidenced by Fukuzawa cradling Aya as it is by Akutagawa asking Atsushi if they need anyone else.

see that's the thing. while i get that some people see the whole bond thing as some friendship saves the day ordeal which they don't really feel great about... why is it unrealistic or strange for bonds to be what makes these characters stronger ?

why. when the reason one of the main characters joined the “good side” was thanks to his friend's dying words. when the cycle of abuse was broken by kyouka after atsushi showed her the light (and with kouyou accepting her choice). when the reason the agency and the mafia and even the hunting dogs refuse to give up is because of their attachment to the city they love.

if you're irritated by things "never having a true impact" in this series, i'm sorry but i don't think you truly get it, as pretentious as that sounds. bsd, as wild as it is, is more about the characters than the story itself; a good chunk of the fandom will tell you that's what they love the most. and the characters do end up affected by what occurs around them: it's why they reached their current points of development in the first place. it's why akutagawa sacrificed himself, why kunikida has been in crisis about what his ideals mean to him, why tachihara broke away from the book's influence... and so much more. things may return to the status quo often, but the characters we've grown to love and cheer for do not.

Two inhuman characters, who just went through a truamatic event together (mersault), who both either are lost or were lost on who they were at some point in time, they could really help tale care of each other. Plus I feel like Sigma would help bring out the calmer sides of Chuuya, and that would be really sweet.

i will always eat up anything about sigchuu. especially that last sentence there, which i want to expand on.

of course we all know chuuya can be a little quick to fly off the handle! and sigma is no angel all the time either, in season 5 we saw he had to be a little rough with dazai. (omfg who doesn't)

maybe sigma helps chuuya be a little more patient and a little less hotheaded. maybe chuuya helps sigma be more confident in setting boundaries and being loyal to said boundaries.

chuuya teaching sigma how to properly handle weapons.

sigma taking chuuya on quiet little café dates, and after they go walk through botanical gardens. chuuya's life outside of the mafia becomes sigma. sigma's home becomes chuuya.

chuuya calls him peppermint, and sigma calls him gingersnap.

oohhhh i'm gonna have to go with the theory i've seen pop up a few times about the aku siblings, that they don't care about each other.

i refuse to touch beast i just like that dazai dies BUT, i know their relationship is a huge central point of the plot because they were separated. if they did not care for each other, their relationship would NOT MATTER! and therefore the entirety of beast would NOT MATTER!

and then, the canon timeline. the first time we see them interact one-on-one, ryuu comments that it has been a while since he's seen gin. if they did not care, do you think ryuu would respond to gin's absence? or even talk to her to begin with? that IS what "not caring" means lmfao. if they did not care, why would gin do ryuu's laundry? why would she meet with him at a street corner to begin with? WHY WOULD THEY LIVE TOGETHER???
