So I have been having troubles with my gender identity as of late and I was browsing and the xenogender comic popped up, I was reading through the different examples and came across lithigender. After reading the little blurb on the side I was like "omg that's just like me" right, so I'm reading more into lithigender and I discover that it's associated with having bipolar disorder. And I felt really bad because for the past 5 ish minutes I was really happy that I found something that I actually identify and I felt bad because I didn't really know anything about bipolar disorder and I felt like I was undermining a community. I also felt a little bad because I didn't really have any grasp on my gender identity anymore. But then I decided to read about bipolar disorder and all of the stuff I found was eerily accurate to my mental state/mental history.

It's been a bit since then and I still feel bad about using lithigender for myself even though I have all of the symptoms of bipolar disorder. I don't really know how to describe it but its like I feel guilty going undiagnosed and using the term... I thought I'd ask for help from someone who knows more about lithigender and bipolar disorder than I do. Should I identify as lithigender even though I'm undiagnosed?

im not against researched self diagnosis, if you feel you fit having bipolar disorder im cool with you using the term! if you would still rather not, you can always coin a similar term that doesnt tie it to bipolar disorder!
