I know it's been a really long time since the last time you posted anything related to this, but I just wanted to say that I've always enjoyed your Horrid Henry artwork. I always really like coming across it, and I really hope to see more in the future 🥺❤️

Peter does start to enjoy playing at cello concerts, but not for the validation and approval, but because Henry is always in the back shouting, ‘That’s my brother!’ obnoxiously loud while the crowd politely claps their hands.

Peter rolls his eyes and pretends he doesn’t notice, but he can never stop the small smile that always comes in that moment.

After, their parents always bring Peter to some fancy celebration dinner with words of criticism on how Peter can do ‘better’ slipped in between praises. Henry just kicks open Peter’s bedroom door at home, unloads a bunch of contraband snacks, and teases Peter while helping him fix his sheet music and going over what could have made Peter mess up.

Eventually, their parents don’t let Henry come to the performances anymore, saying he was too disruptive. There’s no Henry in the audience when Peter starts his piece and no big brother to cheer him on and actually believe in him unlike the other people watching.

What used to bring Peter pride just feels useless and stupid now. What’s the point of performing when the guest of honor isn’t there anymore.

Adhd vs. Autism

Today was hard. My step mom has passed away from cancer last month and this is my first Mother’s Day without her. Drawing has become a lot harder, so bear with me if my style is all over the place or rough.

Small rant. Tbh it’s taken me so much courage to start drawing again. Since the ai controversy I’ve given up on art for over a year. I used to do a lot of realism and I actually find the cartoony style much harder. I stopped doing realism because I’m scared of getting accused of using ai. The paranoia is still there and I often run my art through ai detectors. And guess what? My art is still sometimes flagged as ai. I’m assuming it’s because I edit my art so much, I like adding noise filters, I use the stretch tool a lot and that often butchers the quality, making my art more pixelated, forcing me to use more tools to fix the quality. I guess I over edit my art to a point it’s detected as ai art. I would be lying if I said that doesn’t discourage me. I know I’m no professional, but I miss drawing without having to worry about something like ai. But honestly, why should I care if ai detects ai in my art? I know I drew it. So why should I care what ai thinks lol.

Horrid Henry has helped me gain some courage to draw again. I enjoy sharing my art with this small community. Even if it’s not a very active one. And hopefully I can build the confidence to make another art account and share my other work.
