One day you have taken enough, and then you begin to take it all back.
Daniel Handler's WE ARE PIRATES
I was trying to understand how anyone ever ventured into this world of head-on collisions and lunatic abductors and all the other things one had little hope of recovering from.
Laura Van Den Berg's "Antarctica"
The world is one mad graveyard, in all kinds of fucked up ways. But you are still alive.

Looking for this week’s LitPill? Well, we’ve got some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is that LitPills is on a brief hiatus from creating new prescriptions. But don’t fret! More will be coming soon, starting back up in March.
The good news is that we’re making a transition from Redbubble to producing LitPills in-house! As you can see from the above pic, we’re already well on our way to making this happen.
However, we’ve still got a lot to do, and we’ll keep you updated as we unveil more and more of our master plan that will help LitPills finally take over the world! Or, you know, just provide some author love.
In the meantime, you can still get your prescriptions from Redbubble, and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
After a brief hiatus from the Indie realm, we’re proud to get back into it with this week’s pill, Ken Brosky! You may already know him from his Grimm Chronicles series--or perhaps you’ve just joined the Brosky party with his newest, The Proving. And if you haven’t read anything from him, you should remedy that soon!
In the meantime, we asked Ken our usual prescription of questions. Learn more about him, then pick up some of his books, and his pill! Enjoy!
1. Now that you’re a pill and someone can dose 100 mg of you, what makes up those milligrams?
50 mg of research, 10 mg of creativity, 15 mg of midwestern farm living, and 25 mg of s’mores-related snacks!
2. What possible side effects can your readers expect from dosing you?
You will develop an acute desire for marshmallows, and you may also get lost in the dark world of internet comics.
3. What’s your current dosage?
Just finished David Mitchell’s Slade House and really enjoyed it! Going to start reading some Patrick Rothfuss.
4. What doses over the years have had lingering side effects on you?
Gillian Flynn’s Dark Places really messed me up. It’s not for the faint of heart!
It's official: Litpills are now made in-house! Be on the lookout as we'll be shifting from redbubble to Etsy soon!
Life is ALL technique. The world is full of us... The mildly broken, the factory recalls and misfit toys. And we must work a lot harder. Out-hustle, out-think . . . out-technique.
Craig Davidson's "Medium Tough"
British author, Kazuo Ishiguro for you this week! He’s won prizes! His books have become films! And he’s a fantastic writer to boot! Add him to your reading list, and then buy his pill--or the other way around! More exclamations!
Forms, by definition, have boundaries; when they won't allow us to play the games we want to play, we search for new ways to reflect our communication with the world.
Peter Turchi's THE MAPS OF THE IMAGINATION
Maybe, she thinks, we’re not all that different. We both exist in an isolation of our own making.
Nicole Cullen's "Long Tom Lookout"
Have you been reading Libba Bray? Have you even heard of her? If the answer is “No” to either questions, you should remedy this. Stat. Once done, you’ll definitely want to show the world some Bray love by pasting her sticker up everywhere you can. You can get one here.
...The grapes that need frost to rippen them are amber and grow deep in the hedge, half-concealed, the way your beauty grows in long tendrils half in darkness.
Denise Levertov's "Love Song"
While only writing 101 poems in her life, Elizabeth Bishop’s poetry is some of the best around. Find out for yourself, and then go buy a pill to commemorate your newfound love for her!
For a witch stands on the very edge of everything, between the light and the dark, between life and death, making choices, making decisions so that others may pretend no decisions have ever been needed.
Terry Pratchett ' s THE SHEPHERD'S CROWN
While it seems only right to give these pills away, we don’t think that Redbubble would enjoy that. Still, feel free--har, har--to pick up your Cory Doctorow pill today, and show your love for a guy who is redefining the “system.”
