The owner of Madisons New York Bar and Grill in downtown Montreal has been ordered to pay the 23-year-old $14,500 in damages.
Four years after a young Montreal woman was sent home from work for having braids in her hair, the Quebec Human Rights Commission has ruled she was a victim of racial and gender discrimination.Ā
The owner of Madisons New York Bar and Grill in downtown Montreal has been ordered to pay the 23-year-old $14,500 in damages.
āShe took me aside personally and told me she didnāt want that kind of hairstyle in her establishment,ā Lettia McNickle said, while fighting back tears.
McNickle recalls the distress she felt the day she was sent home by her boss in November 2014 and hopes the commissionās ruling will serve as a lesson to other employers.
āNow they [Madisons] know and other restaurants and companies know that they canāt get away with this,ā she said.
McNickleās mother, who worked as a hairdresser for two decades, claims itās a victory for all black women.
āI just want to encourage other black women out there to be proud of who you are, from your afro hair to your curly hair, whether you want to straighten it out, it doesnāt define you,ā Huelette McNickle said.

THIS POST GOT FLAGGED IM LITERALLY GOING TO SHIT
This New Orleans Cosmetics Mogul Made $1 Million In 90 Minutes
Ms. Raynell Steward, better known as Wuzzam Supa or Supa_Cent on Instagram has helped us laugh with her comedy skits, throw down in the kitchen with her cooking videos, and level up with her inspirational posts about hustling smarter instead of harder.
This New Orleans native took the exposure from her viral Vine and Instagram videos but also her leap of faith and started her business in 2017: a cosmetics line inspired by school supplies. She is now known as the entrepreneur who sold $1 million worth of her products in 90 minutes on Cyber Monday 2018, sending her supporters into a frenzy and leaving her speculators confused, asking: Harpo, who is dis Supa woman?
Ironically enough, The Crayon Case is a line that is dedicated to amateur makeup artists, and if you are an avid follower of Supa, you wonāt be surprised to see her uploading various videos of her impromptu makeup tutorials filled with tips and suggestions.
As with most entrepreneurs, her road to this newfound success was not easy, unlike some who covered this yearās Forbes list with a false āself-madeā title (side eye). Nonetheless, Supa has made sure to share her obstacles and experiences along the way to help other women who are reluctant to start investing in their dreams and essentially, boss up. Supa shares: āY'all be underestimating yourselves. If something is poppinā - it donāt matter who made it, who created - if itās poppinā, b*itch they gonā see it.ā
Supa was correct about her creativeness being noticed, as Crayola approached the CEO about her designs and how they closely resembled those of the branded crayons. Supa responded by immediately stopping production and changing her designs, even asking for the mega brandās approval of her revisions. To her surprise, shortly after Crayola debuted their own cosmetic line that bared a shocking resemblance to Supaās products. She explains:
āThey have the right to tell me āb*itch take that off, thatās my sh*itā so we changed it with no problem, so I understand. I infringed their brand first, so why can I be mad at them for seeing some sh*t is poppin'⦠Iām not about to poke no bear. Iām not about to go [to] them and say, āYou stole my shit, Iām taking you to court,ā b*tch no! Those people could have sued meā¦and they didnāt. So why would I go sue those people for something they rightfully could do?ā
Supa took her āLā like a champ, and learned as a lesson in how important it is to really invest in trademarking and researching thoroughly before debuting any new products. The incident was just a slight stumble on her road to success, as she was able to bring her story to the 2018 Essence Music Festival stage this past summer, solidifying her status as a hometown hero.
The quality of Supaās products precedes her larger than life social media personality and existence in the virtual beauty world, as she really spent a lot of time perfecting her products. Being a darker hue of brown, Supa kept high pigment and longevity of the products in mind, specifically The Crayon Case āishadowā palette.
Supaās products are fun, fresh, and affordable with the hit sold out Crayon Casepalette being priced at $30 and the 7-piece pencil shadow brush set to match at $18.
Supa is a 30-year-old CEO and mother of a young son, awaiting the arrival of her daughter with her supportive fiance, and has worked over 15 jobs in her hometown before quitting her job as a waitress and following her dreams. Some may call her an overnight success, however, supporters of Supa know the hard work and dedication she has put into this victory. In her own words, she shares:
āDonāt hate on yourself. Along your journey, many people will tell you what you canāt and what shouldnāt do. Donāt be that person to yourself.ā

On December 17, 2018, our Community Guidelines will change and adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr.
Seeing as how real art is full of nudity tumblr is no longer an artist site.Ā
In my opinion.Ā Tumblr just killed itāself trying to get rid of the perv shit that has been able to hide here from the beginning.
Move to kinkship.net spread the word
ā if he dies , he dies ā
Good god
On Dec 18th Tumblr will sadly flag this as explicit content

Smh Too sexual
A better, more positive Tumblr
Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, weāre proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, weāve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. Weāve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, weāre taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions). Ā
Letās first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with todayās policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. Weāve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
So what is changing?
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and weāve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
Why are we doing this?
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
So whatās next?
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes wonāt happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. Weāre relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but weāve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, weāre going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions weāre making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what itās come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We wonāt always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.
Jeff DāOnofrio CEO
Constructive Critisim: Youāve failed. Not only yourselves @staff but the whole community of tumblr. You say āfreedom of expressionā and yet take away that freedom from fanartists, positivity blogs, and others all in the name of making it a āsafe placeā for those whoāre underage. You have done the complete opposite, you arenāt making it safer, youāve made a war zone by your own hand on your own doorstep. Sadly, I will probably delete my blog, thereās no point to be in a place where āfreedomā has chains.
I would have maybe gotten it if you had did an all round sweep of every tag there was. However only nuking one and completely ignoring the others (aggressive hate groups hiding behind āfreedom of expressionā) is not equitable in any way.
Unless you do something - You will not see me after December.
Tumblr should not ban fanart or even pictures simply because there are 2 women kissing! Thatās whatās appening in my tumblr
