Destiny and Gregory's Kids Headcanons
The oldest and only brother of three siblings.
Victor W is essentially his uncle Victor C but if he was a book nerd and part of the losers club.
He's deaf in both ears and wears a cochlear implant.
Would absolutely get bullied by his uncle if he went to school with him in the 80s.
Due to his hearing problems he has a stutter like Bill Denbrough and tends to yell because he can't hear how loud he's being sometimes.
His cochlear implant is something he has a complicated relationship with. Some days he’s grateful for it. Other days he hates the sensory overload and just turns it off for peace and quiet.
He hates when people assume he’s fragile or helpless. That’s one of the fastest ways to actually make him angry.
He practices speaking in private sometimes not because he has to, but because he wants to feel more in control of his voice.
Victor knows ASL, but he’s kind of… stubborn about using it in public unless he has to. He prefers speaking, even if it’s harder, because he doesn’t want people immediately treating him differently. Around close friends/family though, he signs super fast and gets way more expressive.
Gregory is very protective, but not in an obvious way. He’s the kind of dad who makes sure Victor’s teachers understand his needs, installs visual alert systems at home, and learns ASL to communicate with him. Victor sometimes finds it overbearing, but deep down he appreciates it.
Destiny is the mom who helps him emotionally. If Victor gets frustrated (especially with speech or people not understanding him), she’s the one who calms him down. She also encourages his love for books and makes sure he never feels “behind.”
He has a small, tight friend group that give off the same vibe has the og losers club.
He reads constantly like, he is the hiding a book under his desk in class type of kid. His room is full of just stacks upon stacks of books.
No one really knows how he lost his hearing because no one befor him was deaf or had any hearing complications and he was never severely ill as a baby.
When he gets excited about something his speech impediment gets worse because he’s trying to say everything at once.
He worries that people only tolerate him because they feel bad for him. This makes him hesitate to get close to others even when they genuinely care about him.
The second oldest of the three
Mariana is bright. Like, people notice her the second she walks into a room. She’s bubbly, talkative, and has this natural charm that makes adults adore her and kids… sometimes feel intimidated by her.
She was named after Mariana Hockstetter. A close older childhood friend of her mother.
A carbon copy of her mother. She's a padgent queen, pink obsessed and very very friendly.
Hangs around her older brother because she's got a crush on Austin Nelson (Paige's adopted son.)
Her crush on Austin is very obvious to everyone except her. She gets extra giggly, fixes her hair when he comes over, and suddenly becomes “so interested” in whatever he’s doing.
She fallows in her Mother Destiny's and Grandmother Patricia's footsteps of being a padgent queen.
Mariana is the nice popular girl at school. She’s friendly to almost everyone, teachers love her and she's always offering support to kids who need it or dont have it at home.
She tries to include people, but doesn’t always realize how intimidating she can come off.
She idolizes her mom and grandma, but also feels a pressure to live up to them. She doesn’t talk about it much, but losing a pageant hits her harder than she lets on..
She tries to keep the peace between her siblings knowing there fighting stresses her parents out. She sometimes feels overshadowed to Victor’s disability and the youngest’s needs.
People underestimate her because she’s “girly,” but Mariana is a very tough cookie. Think of her as a variant to Zuri from Jessie.
Mariana is deeply into YouTube beauty culture in 2016. She watches pageant prep routines, hair tutorials, and “What’s in my pageant bag?” videos constantly. She beggs her mom for her own channel but Destiny always makes her wait until she’s older.
She has a signature color palette. Its not just pink, but specific shades like rose gold, blush, and hot pink. Her room is basically a Pinterest board brought to life.
Despite being super bubbly, she’s actually really competitive. Pageants are “fun” to her… but she also absolutely wants to win.
She has a bit of a dramatic streak. If something goes wrong (like a broken heel or smudged makeup), it feels like the end of the world… for about 10 minutes before she pulls herself together.
She and Destiny sometimes clash like all preteens do with there mothers. Not in a huge way, but Mariana has momments were she wants to make her own choices and not be dictated by her mom.
The baby of the family. She's seven years old.
Named after her mom's older sister Alexander "Alex" Criss.
A very shy little girl often keeping to herself. She has only four close friends who shes known since daycare.
Is neurodivergent and has severe anxiety/adhd
She's begged to be homeschooled quiet a bit because she hates public spaces.
She’s the kind of kid who speaks very softly, to the point where teachers sometimes have to kneel down and really listen to hear her. Around her family though, her voice is stronger because shes around people she knows very well.
Even though she’s shy, she has a very vivid imagination. She spends hours creating little worlds with dolls, stuffed animals, or even just drawing characters and stories in notebooks.
Noise is one of her biggest triggers. School assemblies, crowded hallways, or even loud classrooms can overwhelm her quickly, sometimes leading to shutdowns rather than obvious panic.
Her four close friends are everything to her. They understand her routines, know when she needs space, and don’t pressure her to talk when she’s quiet.
Her older siblings are very protective of her. They can notice instantly she’s getting overwhelmed in public. They’ll quietly help her leave situations without making a big deal out of it.
Gets along better with Victor because like her he's noise sensitive due to his deafness.
She has “safe places” she gravitates toward like a quiet corner of the house, her room, or even a specific spot outside under a tree.
She struggles with traditional classroom expectations (sitting still, focusing for long periods), but when it’s something she loves, she can hyperfocus for hours.
Eye contact is difficult for her, especially with adults or unfamiliar people. She often looks down, at her hands, or at objects instead.
Her Grandma Patty is very hard on her for her mentally disabilities. Her grandma dosnt understand Anxiety/ADHD and thinks it's just an exuse not to pay attention. She'll often get mad at Alex for not looking at her in the eye, yell at her even tho she knows shes sensitive to it and take away her fidgets if she thinks there "distracting her"
Grandma Patty genuinely believes she’s “helping” Alexandria by being strict. In her mind, she thinks discipline will “fix” the behavior, not realizing it’s actually making things worse.
Her parents (especially her mom) have had multiple arguments with Grandma Patty about this. It’s an ongoing conflict with old-school beliefs vs. trying to understand neurodivergence.
Despite this, she still wants her grandma’s approval and love. Small moments of praise from her mean a lot more to Alexandria than they should.
She doesn’t always know how to explain what she’s feeling, so she might say “I don’t feel good” or just go quiet.
Despite everything, she’s incredibly kind. She’ll go out of her way to comfort you if she feels the need to.
