Out at our neighborhood No Kings action
Wembley not-so-Littlebean and Apatosaurus
On this day in Littlebeans history (10/4/25), Mokey got a snare drum and a cymbal to practice on between lessons.
Mokey had such a great time last spring at the St. Maryās College of Maryland open house that she wanted to come back and bring Wembley to todayās fall open house. (They are in tenth grade. Planning ahead is her super power.)
The school is right on the river. Apparently the one-credit elective sailing course is a rite of passage shared by many students. The campus sure is pretty.
There are a lot of great things about it that make it a good choice as Mokeyās current dream school. There are small class sizes, lots of opportunities for internships and student research, caring staff, and guaranteed availability of on campus housing. Itās still two years before the early decision application deadline, so things could change, and itās fine if she stays on this path. Itās good to have dreams.
We got back from vacation a couple of weeks ago. Here are some photos that meet with approval.
It was a big week for day camp for the almost-fifteen-year-olds! Maybe we will find some pictures that the teens approve for posting later. Mokey spent the week at Modern Pop camp, being part of a rock band. The band had a final performance today and sounded great! Wembley spent the week at Comfort Food Cooking camp. He immediately made snickerdoodles when he got home today.

Wembley is taking on more garden responsibilities this year. He wanted a picture of this perfect strawberry.
Mokey did a college visit at St. Maryās College of Maryland the same day Wembley visited University of Maryland. Mokey and her dad ran into a friend from our neighborhood and her mom. Mokey really enjoyed the visit. (Again, ninth grade, this is a kid who plans ahead.)

Itās that time againāHappy Half-Read-a-Thon!
Iāve lost track of how many years itās been, but this is the night (usually in March) when the kids can stay up all night (or as late as they want to) reading. ā¤ļøšš
He doesnāt think itās much of an accomplishment, but we do. Here he is with the silver medal he earned on his Introduction to Latin test.
We are always proud of this awesome, creative kid. But getting to watch Wembley star as Hamlet in his homeschool group's production on the stage at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, well, it's next level, man.
Hamlet
Exciting times for Chez Beans. Wembley is playing Hamlet for one night only with the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company Homeschool Corps.
