deep compassion for self and this experience- to 1.) understanding the psychology of people (and being able to name what is happening while the other person does not ) WHILE 2.) having lived through multiple, back-to-back decades of time experiencing interpersonal trauma while 3.) still experiencing ongoing trauma whether at work, etc and 4.) managing your c-ptsd symptoms like insomnia, physical aches, stress, the understandable distrust of people (which is something new to navigate if you want to heal and get back into the world of people) to ---- figure out how to hold all of this - and remain committed to your recovery and be understanding and compassionate to the collective human experience. I understand why people don't come through to the other side- this has been grueling.
we hold a lot. is it fair? does it even matter. even though the pain is not our fault, our recovery towards being the best adult version of ourselves, is our responsibility. so becoming aware of how you sound and communicate with others - and being compassionate and forgiving towards yourself. being honest and vulnerable.
Chiron, is that you ? :)
The Grackle puff show offs have begun, and it is always a great time to watch the rivaling displays. They were good at hiding and getting out of frame today but they were so fun and active that I decided to make a video. The last piece is there because it contains the strangest noises. Maybe a Starling, maybe a camera mic malfunction, maybe both?
my professor when trying to describe how to recognize field sparrows was just like Well they look... like they're kind. like they just look nice. and the best part is he's absolutely right

the universe has a plan for you, even if you can't see it yet.
Have you ever seen me fly
Above the mountains. in the heights
No wings, just my freedom and my thrills
Hollywood hills in violet pills
Gimme your hand, overcome the abyss
Never too high, above all of this
But while everyone’s engrossed in appearances and money and themselves, here is a man who attends so little to those things that he actually sees the people around him.
— Sarah Damoff, The Bright Years (Simon & Schuster, April 22, 2025)
Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of everything being okay
“Why has money assumed such an immense importance in our lives? Do we perhaps depend exclusively on it for our own psychological happiness? All of us human beings need food, clothing and shelter; this is understood. But why is it that this, which is so natural and simple for even the birds of the sky, has assumed such a tremendous and frightening importance and meaning? Money has assumed such an exaggerated and disproportionate value because we psychologically depend on it for our well-being. Money nourishes our personal vanity, gives us social prestige, the means to achieve power. Money has been used by the mind for ends and purposes totally akin to those it has in itself, among which are to cover our immediate physical needs. Money is being used for psychological purposes; that is the reason why money has assumed an exaggerated and disproportionate importance. We need money to have food, clothing and shelter; that is obvious. But when money becomes a psychological need, when we utilize it for different purposes than it has in itself, when we depend on it to obtain fame, prestige, social position, etc. then money assumes an exaggerated and disproportionate importance in the mind. This is where the struggle and the conflict to possess it originates.”

I truly admire people who go against the grain and live life on their own terms, but in a way where they’re fully responsible for themselves and have a firm set of morals that they navigate by. It’s so easy to find someone in one of those camps, but not firmly planted in both. It takes a great amount of internal strength, I think :-)
