I recently watched Hoppers, and I was genuinely surprised by how beautiful its story was.
It carries such an important message—one that many people tend to overlook: protecting animals from harmful practices that threaten their survival, preserving nature and the environment, and remembering that every living being has a role to play in this world.
The story is heartwarming, the characters are lovable, and the environmental message is delivered in a gentle, natural way without feeling forced.
I also absolutely loved Mabel's relationship with her grandmother. The two of them were incredibly sweet and gentle with each other, and in a way, they felt like they belonged to nature too.
One thing that touched me deeply was how her grandmother would always appear in her thoughts whenever Mabel felt like she had ruined everything or made a mistake, even when her intentions were good and she was only trying to help.
I have to admit that I saw a little of my younger self in Mabel. My grandmother was always there to guide me and give me advice, but she also saw something important in me. She understood that what I cared about mattered, that my dreams and goals were valid, and that they didn't deserve to be diminished, judged, or dismissed by others.
Watching those moments reminded me of her kindness and the way she always encouraged me to keep believing in myself. 🤍
No matter who we are, we all contribute something. We need one another. Humans, animals, plants, rivers, and forests—we are all connected.
We are part of this incredible, sacred thing called nature, and we should do our best to protect and care for it.
As Aurora beautifully sings in The Seed:
"You cannot eat money, oh no."
A simple line, but one that reminds us of something deeply important: without nature, we have nothing.
Let's be kind to animals and protect them, for they are part of what makes our world so beautiful.
