Nomi - trapped in the hospital against her will with a potential brain condition and her transphobic family

Riley - witnessed a drug robbery and then watches people get shot as she’s being tortured by previously robbed drug dealer

Capheus - trying to fight the local mafia so that he can afford AIDS drugs for his mom

Sun - being forced by her family to take the fall for her brothers illegal actions and sent to prison

Lito - hiding his gayness from the public because if they found out he would lose everything in his life

Kala - culturally pushed into a relationship she does not want to be in with an in-law family that does not respect her or her religion

Wolfgang - fighting against the criminals he was raised with and trying to show them he is better than them and the father that beat him

Will - is a cop
