Something .. didn't quite fit as he listened to their words. But he nevertheless smiled, trying to play it off. ''You can be still be a part of someone, and still be your individual self."

"Someone like you likely knows a lot about that, eh?" they muttered, but frowned deeper. "But regardless, no. I'm just a spirit thats been wandering this place. Nothing more."

"You see it's very simple... Sometimes people are born with certain hair colors and certain eye colors. This process is known by most as 'genetics'."

Their reply is dry, to say the least.

'' ...Avoiding the question. So you are part of ... Xemnas? Ansem?" He decided to go for it - see where it would lead him.

This is.. strange. Luna knew what to expect from cold people, or even indifference. But people usually weren't kind to them, especially since they were very new to pretending to be human. "I.. er.." what did they even say here? Usually they liked to keep their secrets to themself, but it should be fine. "No, none of that. I.. can't eat? I don't need food."

[horizonmet]

"Can't eat...?" she pauses, still warmly smiling. "Is that a legit' can't, or is it because it won't sustain ya's either way? Same thing happens to my husband, but he still eats my and my dad's cookin'." she chuckles. "Is there anything I can get ya? Blanket, jacket, new clothes since you've been in the sand most of the day around the ocean?" oh, she's been paying attention-attention.

This was... a lot for someone who had barely even seen a human before. Luna put their hands up in an 'unarmed' position. "It's a literal cannot, sorry." they were not physical enough to eat, and even if they did they had no sense of taste so there wasn't a point. "N-no... no. I'm fine, really." they made a show of taking a step back... leaving the sand to fall in it's place. "See? All better..."

"...I'm sure other people could see me, if they paid enough attention." they were still getting used to that part, really.

"Depends. Some of the individuals here are not observant." Annoyance lightly coated the coldness, as he glanced away.

''... so when will you simply spill why you have grey hair and grey eyes ..?'' He grinned a little. "It's all too familiar of a match."

"It's not you, it takes a... lot of energy for people to see me." they explained, which technically was the truth. The mention of touching them made them pause. "You can try, but usually you'd go through me, and the sensations not great from what I've heard.

"Alright." Roxas reached out his hand to try and touch Effie. Roxas's hand passed through Effie. A cold sensation travel up from his arm throughout his entire body.

"It was indeed not a great sensation... How long have you been here? How did you become one?" Roxas question curious.

They were expecting him to not enjoy the sensation. They had been told passing through their form was rather unpleasant, after all.

"I've been here for.. maybe a year or so that I can remember? I'm unsure where I came from, though." that much is true at least.

"Don't go that way."

It was almost like they had suddenly appeared behind him, hands behind their back as they leaned forward some. Pale blue eyes scanned the alleyway curiously before they straightened up. They do not bother to explain their behavior, only studying him quietly.

"H-hey, wait! I literally just said to not go that way!" they don't answer his questions, they instead focus enough to grab onto his hand and try to yank him back.

"You... you don't gotta go rushing off to be the hero, you know. It's fine to let someone else handle things on occasion!"

I promise I will get to things. I caught a cold and have been dead walking for a few days...

"I admitted to overhearing your discussions and plans." they noted, but couldn't be too bothered. They let the information slip, after all. "Is there anyone else around to see me?" snarky.

[multif0rmed]

Xehanort tilted his head. "Who knows? Maybe there would be, if you are not careful enough."

"...I'm sure other people could see me, if they paid enough attention." they were still getting used to that part, really.

Oh hearts that actually worked?

"My name is Effie... I'm not sure how long I've been here." they did their best to not seem too nervous, at least. "It's really hard to see ghosts like me, we only show up sometimes..."

"Name's Roxas. No wonder i never seen you before.. If you are a ghost can i touch you?" Roxas had heard of ghost being visible. He a nobody, maybe that doesn't apply to him.

"Nice to meet you. You can call me Sharp." they greeted with a small smile.

It was interesting, to get to have a conversation with this kid. Of course Sharp already knew who he was, but they had no means beforehand to interact in such a way. It just added to the excitement they got from their current situation.

"Nooot particularly?" they just had wanted to see somewhere new, so they had went. The benefits of having their specific powerset, really. "I just meant to see the sights and got a little lost."

"Heh, guess we've got that in common. I was pretty much just visiting this place," He chuckled, scratching the back of his head. With a small hum, he placed his hands on his hips, "Well, finding any locals is usually a good first start. Might as well start looking for a town."

He gestured for Sharp to follow him, though he definitely had no idea where he was going. Still, pressing forward had never steered him wrong before.

"Keep an eye out for any road-signs or pathways. And in the meantime, we can just explore!"

This really was a unique situation to find themself in. Of course Sora would not recognize Sharp in any way, but they knew plenty about him. Not that they necessarily held any negative feelings towards him themself, but it was still interesting to be able to interact with him properly.

"So just here for a visit?" they questioned, head tilted to the side. "Do you travel often, then?"

The mention of road signs had them glancing around, as if trying to figure out what they were looking for.

"Oh, you're.. uhhhh..."

Dahlia stared for a long moment, as if unsure of hoe to act. Gold eyes flicker to the side, before they shake their head. A small smile is sent his way, and they put their hands behind their back. "You seem like someone who'd like to see a magic trick!" nice save, not suspicious at all.

The question gets a laugh from them, and they shrugged their shoulders. "Would you believe I'm kinda new here, too?" they questioned with a faint smile. "I've just been taking in the sights. Getting to meet lots of new people is... so much fun." considering their social pool had prior been a steady thirteen? They were elated.

The answer doesn't disappoint. If anything, Ventus looks even more enthused. "Then hey! We can be new together!"

He gestures around them; at the intricate buildings, the stalls lined up on the sides of the small road. The ocean in the distance, and what might just be a plaza in the opposite direction. "So, where to first? Your pick!"

"This place is pretty big, huh?" not that they weren't used to that. Both the places they spent their time in the past had been large and sprawling. But this felt more... free. More open. It was exciting.

"I wanna see the ocean! I've never seen one up close before." they replied, not bothering to hide their excitement. "Have you?"

"To the ocean we go!" A cheer- he'll offer them a hand before he starts forward at a trot, steadily heading towards the distant sound of crashing waves.

"I've seen a few, but they're all different! Some are tropical, some are freezing cold; I don't think the beaches around here are good for swimming, they're pretty rocky." Ventus tilts his head, humming. Must've come a long way if they haven't seen the ocean before. "Do you live out in the country?"

They let him lead them towards the ocean, taking his hand in their own after a moment of focus. They didn't want to phase through him, after all. That'd be rather awkward.

The mention of where they lived made them pause, and they glanced downwards. "The place I lived is... isolated from everything, really. I'm pretty new to the outside world, period."

headcanon 003 ;; phasing through

The Manifests are similar to apparitions, and phase through people unless they focus enough to make contact. Each of the Manifests phasing through you has a different 'effect', some nicer than others.

Effie: Going through Effie gives a feeling similar to a hollow pit in your chest/stomach. It's very similar to an intense feeling of dread. Sharp: Going through Sharp gives you an intense feeling of vertigo, and it can be a lot even for people used to such sensations. Lind: Going through Lind gives you a temporary feeling of weightlessness. If you're weary this can be a nice thing. Fro: Going through Fro gives you a bone-deep chill. Like you've been dunked in ice water almost. Sky: Going through Sky will give you a feeling of steadiness. An additional boost of focus for a short period of time. Lexi: Going through Lexi gives you an immense feeling of dread, like something terrible is coming. Luna: Going through Luna will increase feelings of violence or anger. The more susceptible you are to such feelings the stronger it is. Ete: Going through Ete can give temporary feelings of hyperthermia. Ari: Going through Ari makes you feeling like the air has been sucked from your lungs. Like you temporarily cannot breathe. Fae: Going through Fae gives an intense disassociative feeling. The time it lasts tends to vary. Dahlia: Going through Dahlia gives one a little extra boost emotionally. A noticeable rise in your attitude for a short period. Fou: Going through Fou gives you a burst of energy, though it also feels like static electricity clinging to you. Oblivion: Going through Oblivion gives one motivation, but the motivation is to act on your darker impulses. Oath: Going through Oblivion gives one motivation, but the motivation is to act on your more 'pure' impulses.
