This #latergram happened because I did a round of all the devices that have been storing my picture and made a major backup of everything, which led me to realise that I have over five years of photos to sort out, edit in Lightroom and publish on my page. Which means I’m more likely to be hit by space junk than this actually happening. But then again, I do love a challenge. So while I was looking through enough photos to last me a lifetime, I came across this stolen snap of my husband having trouble putting on a costume for a web series pilot he was shooting, back in 2014. One of the most… peculiar stops on our road trip from Florida to NYC was probably the UFO Welcome Centre. We found Jody, the owner, battling the winds that were trying to rip away the alien cutout that decorates one of his welcome signs (perhaps ET’s brilliant escape plan was being thwarted, and by just standing there agog we were complicit in his capture), and he eagerly invited us to explore flying saucer. As we climbed up he’d turn on the lights and monitors for us to give us the full effect, and to top it all@off after accompanying us all@the way up he vanished (alien abduction?). The saucer seems to be held together by an infinite number of patches and sheer will force, and as I climbed back down I kept wondering if that was how I’d go, tumbling my way down like a sci-fi fangirling Jill that wanted to believe.
