Haven’t Had Enough

  Jake smiled. “Well I guess I have a gift,” He didn’t have any smile on his face, It was that cheesy rare smile type of smile and he wasn’t ashamed of it. Jake nodded. “I think I have good taste in girls.” He felt himself gain a little bit confidence boost which he always loved and needed. He licked his lips. “Well that’s why I’m letting you decide what’s for dessert. I mean I’m pretty much okay with anything. So you get to decided.” Jake leaned down and place a kiss to her cheek and gently grabbing her hand in the process. “Great then I’ll pick you up at 6.” he smiled happily.

Kitty had never felt this way before about a guy.  Usually guys were fuck and dumps or a waste of time, but Jake seemed different.  She actually wanted to get to know him and be around him.  It had only been one date, but she actually found herself thinking about him during class or just being excited to walk by the coffee shop in hopes she saw him.  It was strange, and she felt like a kid again.  “Well, you did have good enough sense to go out with me, so I guess your taste can’t be all bad.  I don’t know the other girls you date or dated, though.”  She said with a grin.  She felt her heart quicken when he took her hand.  She didn’t want to let go.  “Dessert, I’m sure we’ll find something.  I just need something to satisfy my sweet tooth.”  She had never felt such desire before with a guy.  She could probably back him up against a wall and fuck him senseless and not care about who was watching at this point.  Still, she did have some dignity and pride and didn’t want to be arrested while she was in law school and jeopardize her chance at a good job after.  “Sounds good, I’ll be ready.”  She knew they should part and go get ready, but standing there holding his hand and being close to him was so enticing.  She had to tell herself that it wasn’t too long before she could be in that position or even closer.  She had to force herself to drop his hand, but couldn’t resist wrapping her arms around him for a goodbye hug.

Jake smiled and walked a little closer to her. “Yeah how nice of you.” he chuckled. “Well what can I say..I do make pretty good coffee.” he smiled again. Jake bit his lip as he started getting more nervous but kept telling himself to play it cool. His brows rose at being called cute. “That cute guy behind the counter better be me or else you have the wrong guy.” he chuckled again. “And speaking of..you aren’t the only one that has favorites here. I actually have a daily customer come in and she’s blonde and insanely beautiful and she’s actually studying to be in law.” he bit his lip. He nodded at her suggestion. “Sounds great and what kind of dessert were you thinking.” he whispered softly. “I’ll pick you up at 6.” he smiled.

She nodded.  “That you do, and trust me I’ve had people make my order and almost turn me off coffee all together.  Yours are perfect, I don’t know how you do it.”  She smiled up at him.  She was trying to play it cool and not come out sounding super lame and she hoped she was achieving that.  “Oh yeah, you’re pretty cute too.”  She teased.  “Wow sounds like you have impeccable taste in girls.”  She smirked feeling her confidence level back on the rise.  Her ego always did love a little stroking.  She tried to stay calm and not blush, Wilde’s weren’t blushers.  “I don’t know depends what you have to offer and how things go I guess?  But I’m sure we’ll find something yummy.”  She hoped that came out sexy and not totally lame and too forward.  She hadn’t dated a guy she actually liked in ages.  This was pretty new to her.  “6?  I think I can manage that.  I’ll be ready.”

Jake rose his brows. “Oh really? well I’m flattered that I can get fitted into your busy life.” he chuckled. Jake bit his lips. “Hmm well I don’t like brag or anything but I do make good coffee.” he joked. Jake didn’t understand why being with her felt so easy, but he wasn’t going to complain. “Well then how about we do something later..we could maybe take a walk though town or go to dinner and then maybe go back to my place for a movie” Jake hoped that she would get the hint of him asking her out again. He licked his lips and moved a little closer to her. “I’ll let you decide.” he said softly before licking his lips again. “And not to try and persuade you or anything but I may know a great place for dinner but again, it’s totally up to you.” he smiled.

Kitty smirked.  “Yeah, well, it’s the least I can do for the guy whose put up with my insane orders these past few months.”  She let out a soft laugh.  “Well, brag away, it’s quite the talent you have there.  It just never tastes as good when anyone else makes it.  Maybe that’s why I always picked this coffee shop to study at, that or the super cute guy behind the counter.”  She said in her flirtiest tone.  “We could do all of the above, a walk, dinner and then maybe a movie and dessert back at your place?”  She suggested stepping ever so close to him.  “I’m sure it’s fantastic, what time should I be ready?”

Jake smiled back at her. “I see” he kept smiling and placed one hand on the counter as he could lean against it. “Although for the record, I didn’t think you were avoiding me. I just figured you were busy from all the law school practice.” he chuckled, trying to be cool. “Plus you being addicted to coffee isn’t really a secret either.” he smiled again. Jake watched her moved closer to him and just licked his lips. “Not much but you know maybe that can change if you are free as well.” he shrugged. “I mean I could always use some company but I’ll leave that up to you.” Jake grinned. After after a few minutes me moved a little closer to her too.

“Law school does keep me pretty damn busy, but I think i could manage to squeeze you in.”  She smiled glad to just be in his presence again.  She felt more relaxed and some of her fears were starting to dissipate.  “Well, the coffee is good or maybe it’s just the way certain people make it that I get addicted to.”  She tried to play it cool she didn’t want him to think that she was desperate or anything.  “I have to study later, but other than that I’m pretty open today.  I could possibly be persuaded to keep you company.”  She tilted her head to the side looking up at him wondering if she should make a move, touch his hand or lean up for a kiss.  She didn’t want to seem forward so she stood grounded waiting and hoping for him to make some move.  Beginning a relationship was always so complicated, she mused.

Jake sighed happily as he finally finished his shirt for the day. He loved working at the coffee shop but some days it was just to much. He grabbed a drink to go before walking out and heading off down the street. He was happy. Jake Puckerman was happy. He didn’t if it was because things were going good in life or because of that one certain girl. Sure they had only been on one date but it was great date and he really enjoyed himself. Plus he wasn’t able to stop thinking about her. As Jake turned the corner to a new street, he stopped in his tracks to realize that he forgot something back at work. He turned back around and headed back to the coffee shop. Jake entered the building and before he knew it, he ran into some one. He only noticed the familiar face after she looked up. “Hey to you too.” he smiled. Jake chuckled. “Trust me, you would know if I was avoiding you but lucky for you you aren’t on that list.” he smiled happily.

Kitty was grinning from ear to ear just happy to see him.  It was unexpected, but a relief at the same time.  She was hoping he had a good time as well, since they seemed to hit it off.  She liked just being in his presence and talking to him and getting to know him.  “Good to know, for the record not avoiding you either, quite the opposite actually.  I may have not just been here because I’m addicted to the coffee.”  She smirked and moved a step closer to him.  “So, what are you up to today, since you’re not working?”  She asked trying to be nonchalant, she didn’t want to show all her cards too soon as she still wasn’t 100% how he felt in regards to her.

Kitty was on cloud nine, she and Jake had started to really hit it off and she anxious to see him again.  After their first date she wasn’t really sure if she should go by the cafe again or if that would make her seem desperate.  After a few days of exchanging a few texts she figured it was safe enough to stop by.  Just her luck, however, he was no where in sight.  The girl behind the counter had said he just got off and left.  She ordered her usual, to go, and sighed feeling a little defeated and totally ruining her good mood.  She was picked up her phone to text him again just to see how he was when she accidentally bumped into someone.  She was lucky she held on to her drink, but looked up from her phone to apologize when she noticed who it was.  She put away her phone and smiled at the taller boy in front of her.  “Hey, you, long time no see, part of me was wondering if you’d been avoiding me.  I know I’m not THAT bad of a conversationist.”  She smirked up at him.

First Meeting II Jitty

Jake: grinned. "I was the same way." When she went deeper into the conversation about dance and reactions, he realized that she had a point. "Makes sense. Well they both loved it so I must have some time of talent" he chuckled. It was weird how great they were getting along. It was never this easy with Jake. He would always have to work harder to get the girl or do things to try and get them to notice him but with her, he was just able to take and strangely enough he didn't have to pretend. He was able to be just him. "Guess you're right about that." When they got back to talking about their date, he licked his lips. "Hmm good to know. I think I have a great idea." he grinned again. "So how about Friday night?" he asked before smiling.

Kitty: nodded and gave him a knowing smile. "See, told you, maybe you should give yourself more credit. I haven't seen you move, yet, but I'm willing to bet you're better than you think." She traced her finger along the rim of the plastic lid on the coffee cup. She had almost forgotten she had even got it, he was definitely distracting. "I can't wait to see what you have in mind. Friday night it is, should we meet here at 7 and we can go from there?" She asked unsure of if he'd want to come to her condo or not, she didn't want to seem forward, it was only a first date.

Jake: grinned. "Well lucky you then." He couldn't help but laugh at her little story. "Oh now that has got to be a video tape moment" he laughed. "But I guess I can't really talk, I used to put on little dance routines for my mom and grandma, of course they weren't that good since I was little." He shrugged." Jake took a minute to really look at her. She was different from other girls. Most girls that he had seen or been around were stuck up and snoody but this girl..she wasn't like that. Plus was insanely beautiful. Jake really liked that. That she she knew what it meant to work hard for something. "Yeah well those girls weren't exactly the best girlfriends." When she brought up dinner, he rose his brows. "Well I have a few things in mind, but it depends, are the simple and romantic type of the fancy and romantic type because I happen to have ideas for both." he grinned.

Kitty: looked down and laughed softly. “Yeah well, I’m sure there’s home movies somewhere. I was a very imaginative child.” She smiled fondly at the idea of him putting on shows for his family. “I bet they loved them and they were probably better than you think. The most important thing with dance or any other artistic forms of expression is audience reaction. As long as the audience loved it it was amazing.” She was really liking these little moments sharing things with him, it didn’t seem awkward or weird, she felt easy around him. Him being sexy as hell didn’t hurt him either. “Well, it’s their loss for sure. If they don’t want to make the sacrifice they definitely weren’t worth the time. At least that’s what I tell myself about the boys I tend to date.” She was still reeling from the fact that her display of confidence had worked and she was actually planning a date with Jake. “Why don’t you surprise me. I don’t need expense and extravagance, I can get that any day I want. I just want something where we can get to know each other and eat dinner that won’t give us food poisoning. I’m fairly easy to please.” She said in a flirty tone.

Jake: chuckled by her words. "Yeah but after a while I don't even get to smell the coffee when I get home. It just proves how much I work" He nodded. "Yeah business. Yes and no about it being my dream. I mean what I would like to eventually is to have my own business..preferably a dance studio. My even bigger dream sadly won't happen so this is my second dream." Jake grinned. "And what about you law school?" he asked. "Daddy's girl." he repeated. "You know what that means, it makes no guy is ever going to be good enough for your father." He chuckled again. "Yeah I'm a mamma's boy. Have been ever since I was born." he shrugged. When they got back to the while girlfriend topic, he sighed. Guys like him were so out her league. She was to good to seen with him. "I know what you me. I mean O love to have a girlfriend but I just can seen to find that will deal with my hours. The girlfriends I have had in the past, just don't like that I work so much. But I worked like this in high school too." He shrugged. Jake took another sip of his drink as she continued to talk. He smiled when she brought up having his phone number. Maybe she was interested in him. Or maybe she was just being friendly. But he was going to try and find out. Jake pulled out his phone and handed it to her while he put his name and number in hers. "I was thinking more along the lines of dinner." he grinned before looking up at her with a smile. "What do you say?" he asked.

Kitty: scrunched up her nose and shook her head. “I really don’t know if I could ever be nose blind to coffee. I love it way too much.” She listened to him talk about his dreams and it just endeared her to him a little more. “You never know, dreams can always come true, if you actually work at it. Nothing worth it is easy. Trust me Law School is kicking my ass daily, but I know it’ll be worth it. Being a lawyer has been all I’ve wanted since I was old enough to know what a lawyer was. I used to hold mock court with my barbie dolls.” She laughed not sure why she was telling him that, but finding him easy to talk to. “Well, that’s true, but I don’t need my daddy’s approval, just his credit card.” She smirked. “That’s really sweet, she’s lucky to have such a good son.” She had never met a guy like him before, he seemed so different than the ivy league jerks that kept asking her out. She was grateful for the excuse of focusing on her studies. None of the guys ever interested her, at least until now. Jake wasn’t stuck up or preppy, he was laid back and easy to talk too, not to mention he wasn’t hard on the eyes. “Well, those girls are idiots, you don’t break up with a guy for those reasons, not if he treats you right and you enjoy what time you do spend together. It’s totes their loss.” She inwardly cheered when he handed her his phone and quickly filled out the contact info. “Dinner? Well, well well, someone moves fast.” She teased. “I guess it depends, where are you going to take me?”

Jake: chuckled a nodded a little big. "Yeah, I would rather work here then at some fast food place or something like that. Plus it pays the bills so" he shrugged. Jake grabbed his drink and took a sip of it. "I'm studying business actually and so far it's going good. I'm really enjoying it which is good." He took a break from cleaning and stood up against the counter as he listened to her. "Oh so it sounds to me like your daddy's little girl" he chuckled. "But don't worry I'm a little bit of a mamma's boy myself. But um just so you know, I like a girl who can hold up her grades. But of course when it's time for fun, she better bring it" he laughed. When she brought up the whole boy and girlfriend thing, he was kind of happy when she said that she didn't have a boyfriend. He shook his head at her question. "No I don't. I guess I feel like I don't have time for one or maybe like you said, I just haven't found the right girl."

Kitty: Kitty often wondered what it would be like to struggle to pay the bills, she never had to worry about that, things just got paid. Until she hit high school she had no idea others weren't as fortunate. "Much better to come home smelling like delicious coffee than burgers and cooking oil," she said with a slight smile. "Business?" She asked a little shocked by the answer. "Sorry, it's just you don't really strike me as the suit and tie corporate guy. Is that your dream?" She asked with a quirk of her eyebrow. She threw one hand up and ducked her had at being called a daddy's girl. "Guilty as charged. Daddy likes spoiling me and who am I to argue? A Mama's boy huh? They say you can tell how a guy will treat you by how he treats his Mama." She smirked a little at him feeling the familiar butterflies as she learned more about her barista that she had been secretly eying for months now. "Despite my near constant studying, I know how to let my hair down." She ran he hand through her ponytail. "Metaphorically and physically." She giggled. She tried to not look disappointed when he said he didn't have time for a girlfriend. "Yeah, I guess crazy schedules can really put a damper on the whole love life thing. I can totally relate, any guy I date would have to deal with the same." She bit her lip wondering if she should be bold, they seemed to be hitting it off and well, she wasn't usually one to hold back. She took a deep breath and decided to go for it. "Look, Jake, I know this is probably going to sound really insane, and I promise you I'm just a college student and not some psycho stalker. That said, you think maybe I could have your number? I'd give you mine in exchange and maybe we'd call each other and hang out when our schedules align? What do you say?" She put on her most confident of smiles as she took out her cell phone waiting for his answer and hoping she'd be able to add a new contact this afternoon.

Jake: stood there and listened to her. He nodded before chuckling. "Normally I would come here to but since I work here, I don't want to be here more than I have to" he chuckled again. He tried to keep his staring under control. What was he thinking? A girl like her probably had a boyfriend. When she turned the offer of getting good, he nodded."Well if you chanhe your mind, I'll be here" he smiled. As she turned her back, he did the same and continued cleaning. Another big smile can to his face as he heard her talking again. Jake turned back around and faced her. "I'm in class. That's pretty much my life. It's very rarely that I get days off and everything. It sucks somettimws but then I remember that I'm getting all the money" he leaned again the counter. "And what about you? What do you do when your not studying so hard? You got a job or a boyfriend?" He tried to make the question casual.

Kitty: Looked down at the ground with a soft smile. "Understandable, I already practically live here, I can't imagine having to work here too. It's pretty nice though, quiet, I like that." She looked around at the few scattered patrons all doing their own things oblivious to everyone else. It was a nice place to study and get work done, at least better than her loud roommate who always had another guy over and had no shame in what they did even when Kitty was in the room. She was pleased when he turned back around, not quite ready to get back to studying or stop looking at his big dark eyes and smile. "What do you study?" She asked curiously taking a sip from her straw. "No job, my dad's pretty well off so he pays for school and all that, under his thumb still so I have to get grades. I don't really do much other than study and avoid my roommate. I guess most guys can't deal with a girl that puts her grades first. That or maybe I just haven't found the right one. What about you? You got a girlfriend you spoil with your big tip money?" She smirked as she looked at the jar filled with mainly quarters and a couple dollars. She made a mental note to slip a few extra bills in there when he wasn't looking.

Jake:grabbed the ingredients and started working on her order. He kept the smile on his face. "Well when someone comes in as much as you do, I tend to pick up on things" Jake grinned. As the machine was going, he walked closer to her. "When people work here as long as I have, you can do everything in your sleep." Jake checked on her drink and poured in a few more things to top it off as he got her cup ready. "Anything I can get you? Muffin or bagel?" he asked sweetly. "I know you don't usual get anything else but unfortunately, I always have to ask." Jake finished up her drink before sliding the cup towards her and wiping down the machine.

Kitty: smiled and looked down as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "Well, my roommate doesn't quite understand what 'quiet time' is. I like this place, it's quiet enough and I get a little caffeine to keep me alert." She tried to not check him out too much while he was working on her drink, she had to admit the guy had really nice arms and was easy on the eyes. She knew it was silly to have a little crush on the barista, but it was harmless fun right? She thought for a moment if she wanted to get something to munch on, but figured maybe if she waited on that she'd have an excuse to talk to him again. "Not right now, but studying can work up an appetite." She took her drink feeling a little disappointed that their interaction was over. She wrapped her hands around the plastic cup and was about to walk off, but the place was dead and she wasn't quite ready to start studying just yet. "So what do you do when you're not making my latte perfectly?" She asked with a flirty smile, wanting to get to know the guy a little better.

Jake sighed as he finished cleaning off the counter again. Another day at the coffee shop. He had been working there for two years. It wasn't the worst job but it wasn't exactly the dream job either. Jake was sophomore in college who was constantly in school or working. It was hard but he knew he didn't have a choice. He had bills to pay after all. Money didn't come easy to him. He grew up knowing that he had to work for what he earned. His mom had to provide for him and his little sister and it wasn't easy for her. Now that Jake has been on his own for a few years, he knew just how hard it was. The day felt longer than others. When the bell to the front door rang, he turned and saw this gorgeous girl. She had always come to the coffee shop and Jake couldn't help but smile and stare every time she came in. "Let me guess, iced vanilla latte, but not too iced" he smiled at her.

Kitty: had had a long day. Classes were a bear and now she had a Torts exam in 3 days and she wasn't nearly prepared for it. Her roommate didn't understand the concept of "quiet time" so she went to the one place she could always count on for a little peace, the coffee shop just a block away from campus. She kinda hoped the cute barista would be there, he always made her latte perfectly and served it with a smile that made her weak in the knees. She smiled to herself when she noticed him at the counter. She smirked when he named her order before she could even open her mouth. "Someone pays attention," she nodded and went to the other side of the counter to watch him make it. "It's quite a relief to not have to recite off my order or get someone who doesn't understand the concept of an iced latte that doesn't give me frost bite." She tried to carry on some conversation and she tugged her bag up her arm feeling it getting really heavy from the weight of her books.
