I am always late catching up on X Factor cause I am in the U.S. I am crying watching how concerned Louis was for Armstrong. His heart was breaking for him. The way he pulled him aside the moment he discovered he was in the final three, held his face in his hands, and gave him a pep talk, tore me up. He was so worried about him. I know that he was worried about Armstrong’s spirit being broken by this. You could tell that was where his concern came from. He is so incredibly empathetic. His pleading with Simon killed me. “I’d sign him tomorrow. I’d sign him tomorrow. He’s an artist.” Just imagine how many times in his life Louis has pleaded like that with Simon for things for the band, or even for his personal life. It was something I did not want to see or have to imagine. The “friendly judges” dynamic between him and Simon shifted in an instant and you could tell, you could really tell, he had pleaded like that with him before.
