Wiress was stood in the atrium of the tribute building, waiting for Beetee to return with their young charges. This was always her least favourite time, meeting the children that they would all too soon have to say goodbye to.
That was why she stayed to the Victor's village, why she didn't leave the house. Why she never met the children she might have to watch die. Beetee worked so hard to integrate, to help the people of District Three. Wiress only spoke in her hushed tones to their tributes when they were here.
It was easier that way.
