I am so very serious when I say that minors should have a legal and easily reinforceable right to say "I don't want to live with my parents (or other adult caretakers)/I don't want to be around that person/I don't want to go to that place" and actually get their wish accommodated. So much childhood trauma could be avoided or ended if children actually had the right to leave the situation or the person hurting them.

This is a very old fic that's been stewing in my documents. I wanted to add more but never got around to it. Just thought Id share! Also I need everyone to know that the name of this Google doc is "Hello villain who is mean to alfred. Explode."

This fic is the aftermath of the BTAS episode "Eternal Youth". I would recommend watching it/ looking up a synopsis for context. Enjoy!

It had been two days since Alfred got back from the hospital, and he hadn’t left Bruce’s sight since. Not that he was aware of that fact. After the initial hemming and hawing about the state of the house in his brief absence, Alfred had seemed to go back to business as usual. Bruce, on the other hand, could not. The security systems were updated, cameras were installed, research had been done on every person within a stone’s throw of the incident that put Alfred in the hospital. Ivy was jailed, her acompices were jailed, and every person that allowed the events of two days ago to come to fruition was being prosecuted. Bruce made sure of it. Their neighbor Maggie, who got caught up in the mess as well, was sent at least two gifts a day, and Bruce planned to keep sending them until she told him to stop. Anything he could think of to make her life a little easier after… what had happened. Bruce tried not to think about what had happened. Though he did see it every time he closed his eyes. Alfred and Maggie, encased in bark, terror frozen on their faces.

Alfred, on the other hand, was right as rain. Sure, it was a harrowing experience, but nothing he couldn’t handle. An unexpected hazard of the job, that was all. The only divergence from his daily routine was the culling of their flower beds. They would just have to be bare for a while, he held a newfound distrust for plants on the premises. Other than that, he was holding up just fine. He dusted, he cleaned, he cooked a nice dinner. He served it to Bruce who was… not looking well.

Bruce was no stranger to a lack of sleep. He had spent many sleepless nights mulling over cases - much like he was doing at the dinner table, to Alfred’s chagrin - so he had gotten used to a truncated sleep schedule. However, this seemed… different. Bruce seemed to linger on this particular case for longer than necessary. All of the victims, including Alfred and Maggie, were returned home safe and sound, the perpetrators were swiftly taken away, but Bruce hadn’t just let it go. He dug deeper, despite hitting the case's natural end. Alfred snuck a glance at the papers in Bruce’s file, and they bordered on gibberish conspiracy.

“Master Bruce, forgive me for saying, but don’t you think Miss Cunningham hiring Poison Ivy to get back at me for making better rhubarb pie than her is a bit of a… stretch?”

Bruce glared from behind his file, scribbling something next to that theory. Memory wipe/mind control? Alfred had reached his wits end.

“Bruce, you are being preposterous!”

“I am being careful, Alfred. Cautious. Clearly something we’ve neglected as of late.” Bruce growled.

“Excuse me?”

Bruce took a bite of his steak, leveling another glare at Alfred.

“I think you heard me perfectly well.”

Alfred stood tall, arching a brow.

“Young man, I do not appreciate being spoken to in such a manner.”

“I am not a child!”

“Then why are you acting like one?”

Bruce stood up from the table with a loud huff, stomping away.

“Where are you going?”

“To the cave.”

“Like hell you are.”

Alfred followed after him, catching up quickly and blocking the cave’s entrance.

“What has gotten into you? You’ve been acting strange since I got home!”

Bruce swallowed thickly.

“Get out of my way.”

“Absolutely not.”

Bruce tried to evade Alfred’s block, reaching for the hands of the clock-

“Master. Wayne.”

He stopped immediately. The look in Alfred’s eyes was nothing short of deadly.

“I suggest we both get some rest. We will talk about this in the morning.”

Bruce backed away, stalking off to his room. Alfred sighed. He hated snapping at Bruce but it had to be done. He had no idea what was wrong or how to fix it. He decided to take his own advice, heading to his own room to wash up and sleep, avoiding Bruce’s room on the way.

Alfred was a light sleeper. He always had been, he had trouble letting his guard down even in his own home. Which is why his rest was interrupted by the lightest squeaking of floor boards. He shot up, but the sound was gone. Just an old house, he thought. However, an hour rolled by and it happened again. The same noise, the same floorboard. Still no source to be found. To test a theory, he only dozed off for the next fifty five minutes or so. At the allotted time, he laid awake in his bed, and slowly turned on his lamp. He found a large shadow outside his bedroom door.

“Bruce?”

The shadow tried to scurry away, but he called after it.

“Bruce, I will not ask again.”

After a beat of silence, the floorboard creaked again and Bruce appeared in the doorway.

“What are you doing?”

Bruce stood silently, looking at his feet like a scolded child.

“It’s the middle of the night-”

“I was watching over you.”

Alfred sat in stunned silence. “Why?”

“In case they come back to finish the job.”

Suddenly the last two days clicked. The stupid theories, the sleepless nights, the hovering. Bruce was worried. Devastated. After what Bruce had been through -

“I just,” Bruce choked, “I can’t lose you.”

The lamp light glistened in the tears running down Bruce’s face. At six foot three he barely fit in the doorway, but to Alfred, he was just a crying little boy. His little boy.

“Oh, Bruce, darling, come here,”

Alfred reached out his arms, beckoning his son closer for a hug. Bruce shook his head.

“No? Why not?”

Bruce started to shiver and sob.

“You were hurt. Badly hurt. And it was all my fault-”

Alfred got out of the bed and went to Bruce, wrapping him in a tight embrace.

“No, Alfred, please I … I don’t deserve it.”

“What?”

“I… I’m not good. I haven’t been good. I was rude to you and I… I got you hurt. You could have… you could have…” Bruce broke down into shaking sobs.

“Darling, this was not your fault. You couldn’t have known,”

“I should have. I didn’t protect you.”

“That is not your job,”

Alfred pulled back, looking Bruce in his reddened eyes.

“What grown ups choose is not your fault.”

An echo from a long time ago. It wasn’t Bruce’s fault Alfred went to the spa. It wasn’t Bruce’s fault his parents went into the alley.

“How about you stay in here with me for tonight? That way we can keep each other safe, hm?”

Bruce whimpered and sniffled, but nodded. Alfred took his hand and led him to the bed, but Bruce stopped short.

“...I’m too big now. I don’t want to crowd you.”

Alfred scoffed, “My own son, too big? Please, that just means there’s more of you to love.”

A schmaltzy thing to say, but it does the trick. Bruce finally quieted down and sat on the bed, joined by Alfred. Before Bruce could protest, Alfred wrapped an arm around him and pulled him close for a cuddle. Bruce acquiesced, burrowing into his father’s chest to feel the steady thump of his heartbeat.

» loves loves loves pillow forts!! waterproof blankets, towels, and tarps are a big necessity so that big emotions don’t make a mess of the floor :(

» i think that when his powers first kicked in as a kid he would have gotten a lot of comfort from swim toys and stuffies with tiny bathing suits, which i totally think he still has and loves to death!!

» has the biggest sweet tooth… usually he likes fruits and eats relatively healthily but when he’s little that all goes out the window.

» he’s very touchy/clingy when he’s small. his caregivers would most likely need to change after taking care of him because their clothes are so soaked… not that they mind though!

» he loooves pet names. he’ll always feel cared for when there’s someone to call him “buddy”, “champ”, “kid/kiddo”, or any variation of his name, but i think he particularly enjoys “little man”!

» when he’s small he has trouble speaking, most likely only calling for his caregivers with names like “papa” or “mama”. sometimes he even just little whines or makes grabby hands at them when he’s too upset for words to come to him. he’s the cutest :,)

» even when he has trouble talking, he’s very expressive— eyes wide, hands moving, cheeks flushed.

» very silly but he’s much more judgmental when he’s small. this doubles when he’s upset. he will give you a funny look for the slightest things, even if he doesn’t mean to be so transparent about his feelings.

» loves softness in general! even though it’s harder to control his powers when he’s regressed, he always wants fluffy blankets and pillows, stuffies, etc., but he probably feels bad when he has to wash them later no matter how much he’s reassured that sometimes your stuffies need a bath just like people do!

» since meeting beef, that little guy has been such a friendly face when he’s regressed. holding a beef really does make everything better!

» i think most of the team likes to coo at him if he just so happens to regress at work, but outside of work i definitely see robert as his main caregiver. i can also see alice and chad taking care of him and robert jokingly calling them suckers for giving into his every whim (mostly a lot of snacks).

» when he’s having a really really bad day, the z-team’s powers can make him feel better! he especially likes when mandy and alice make little light shows for him.

CG Alfred Headcanons ✧.*

Very good with kids of all ages, can adjust to various needs, after all he took care of Bruce since he was a baby (when Thomas and Martha were busy).

Loves to read to the littles, he has so many books.

Has a dedicated basket of supplies, especially bathtime stuff for his little(s) (separate baskets for each one).

Gentle but firm. Will wait out tantrums without giving them attention, but is always there to talk it out once they're ready.

Of course, he's a butler, so he already does a lot of smaller things like opening doors etc, but he enjoys it more with the littles.

He sometimes still uses the titles he uses for the littles when they're big (master/miss/lady).

But he also likes "little miss", "little lady", "little one", stuff like that, as well as "poppet", "sweetheart", "dear one/boy/girl", etc.

When he's getting towels for the kids to take baths he'll fold them into towel animals.

Always prepared. Most of the batfam don't know there's a diaper bag in the trunk of every car he drives... Until they need it.

Generally most of the littles aren't allowed in the kitchen. Most of the household isn't allowed in the kitchen anyway, but there are some exceptions who are banned when little.

Except for Jason, who is inexplicably well-behaved when he gets to "help" (actual amount of assistance varies on age) Alfred cook.

I imagine Alfred probably comes from a working class family, I know he was in the military before being a butler but I don't know what his social status was like.

But anyway I mention that bc I think he'd have the kids watch the public access shows.

They can afford whatever shows they want but he WILL put on Mr Rogers.

That's simply how it is.

Strong enough to carry even the heaviest of his kids, like Jason; will carry them around on his hip like they're still small.

He hangs every piece of art the kids give him on the fridge until the fridge gets too full and then he puts all of it in boxes that he keeps stored away so they won't get damaged.

(yes this is inspired by that detail in The Batman 2022 where Alfred has a kid's drawing from Bruce stuck to his mirror.)

He's not the most energetic caretaker, he's usually not the one running around playing with the kids. But he's always there if you need company.

Will put his suit jacket over the kiddos' shoulders. Usually when they're cold or upset but they don't have to be. If you're little there is always a chance. He thinks it's cute how they'll kinda snuggle into it.

Will set up the littles' toys to make it look like they've moved while the kid was out of the room.

Buys the kids expensive stuff, not like stuff that's just expensive for the hell of it, but he's got Bruce's money and permission. If it's good quality and the kid wants/needs it he'll buy it. (Usually this is stuff like clothes and toys, and he's more strict if they're out at the store because he knows how marketing works. And also because he's not going to buy something that's just going to fall apart, he'll buy a better quality version later.)

Bedtime master, all the kids listen to him when he says it's bedtime, also he makes the best nighttime bottles.

Prefers tactile toys with natural colors. He'll get colorful stuff of course, but for toys it's probably not going to be bright neon unless it's something they requested.

Has one of those play kitchens set up for the kids who aren't allowed to help him in the kitchen.

The master of repairing and washing favorite stuffies and blankets before anyone notices they're gone

Prefers "papa" or "grampa" over other familial terms, he likes to say he's too old to be anyone's dad (except Bruce, Bruce is allowed to call him dad).

💚Caregiver Punch-Up Headcanons💚

•He's the best story teller, he has a story for everything! It doesn't matter what time of the day it is, he'll tell a story whenever you want to hear one. Sometimes he'll even tell a story without you asking for one, he'll just blurt one out whenever he gets reminded of one.

•Even though he's short, he still picks up his regressor. He'll even playfully toss them in the air and catch them at times. But whenever his regressor wants to be held, he'll hold them no matter what.

•Punch Up doesn't get frustrated often, but one thing he can get upset with is when his regressor is being naughty on purpose. For example, if his regressor knocks something over for fun, he'll be very disappointed.

"Now do you really think that was the best choice, breacán (little one)?"

•One thing about Punch-Up, he always knows how to make a chore or task fun. Whenever it's bathtime, he'll fill the bathtub to the brim with bubbles. Whenever it's time to get dressed, he'll ask his regressor to put on a little fashion show for him. When it's time for bed, he'll always offer some warm milk before bed and a story. He knows how to make a little one feel real comfy!

•He's very good with handling any age his regressor regresses to, but he's especially good with when they regress into baby-space. He always knows how to make them laugh, smile, or simply get them to eat without trouble.

•Speaking of getting his regressor to eat, his always very encouraging to get them to finish their whole plate. If they don't, that's okay! But if they do, he'll always praise them and give them an around.

"Ya see that, me'love? I knew you could do it! You'll be stronger than me in no time for sure."

•When it comes to taking care of his regressor in baby-space, there's never a time where he isn't nearby. He'll always follow after them if they crawl around somewhere, he'll always be there to take something out of their mouth, and he'll always be by their side when they cry.

•He sings lullabies to his regressor when they cry, it's one of the only ways he knows they will work to get them to calm down (90% of the time.) Punch-Up will simply pick them up and sing an Irish lullaby until they're calm and smiling again.

"My mum used to sing this one to me too when I was a wee lad, yknow?"

•Whenever his regressor slips into baby-space, he's always prepared with some "baby-friendly" games they can play to keep them entertained. He's a world champion at peek-a-boo and building large buildings out of blocks for his little one.

•Whenever his regressor gets in trouble, he won't punish them in harsh ways, he doesn't think that'll solve anything. The only way he'll ever 'punish' his little is by putting them in the corner then giving them a stern talking to.

•He will always keep a pacifier or a toy in his pocket, depending on what age his regressor regress to at that time. He keeps on stand by in case they get bored or cranky.. he refuses to not come prepared!

•When his regressor is in baby-space, he doesn't just let them sit in silence since they can only babble. Punch-Up makes an effort to talk whenever he can whenever his regressor is next to him. It doesn't have to be anything big in the moment, but it's a nice way to show he cares.

"Save The Baby Flame"

(I kind of did a small twist to your request because I thought of this scenario, I hope that's okay!)

"AUGHHH!! Come on!!"

It's been all day that the Z-Team was trying to sabotage each other. Ever since they learned that one of them is being cut from the team, everyone was doing everything in their power to get the most points to be on top.

Sonar pushed Coupé in a pool at an aerobic lesson, Invisigal tripped Malevola and caused a robber to get away, Golem kept playing loud noises to deafen Sonar, Prisim pushed Golem into wet cement, Punch-Up doxxed Prisim, then there was Flambae.. Invisigal trapped him in a sensory deprivation tank.

"Nobody sabotages me, except me!"

He groaned from inside the tank, "B-but.. that's more of an existential thing."

"Why would you even get into the pod in the first place?

Prisim asked from her ear piece.

"I don't wanna talk about it."

"I told him it would ease his anxiety.. then he stepped right in."

Invisigal snickered through her mic.

So now.. he was stuck in the tank. For the most part, it didn't bother him at first. But then the tank started getting filled with water. His eyes widened a bit as he saw the water filling up, he was running out of time to get out of this thing.

"God damn it, Robert! Get me out of this thing!"

Flambae groaned and wiggled within the tank, but his body was trapped completely. His arms barely had no wiggle room to move, the same went for his legs.

"Flambae, nobody is in route. I'm doing everything I can right now to try and get you out. I'll send some of the team your way."

Flambae could hear Robert clicking the keys on his computer, it was only feeding into Flambae's worry.

"Well hurry up!!"

He groaned and wiggled some more in attempts to get himself out. He tried to blast the top off of the tank, it didn't work. He tried to stay calm in the situation, but of course, that didn't work either.

By the time he attempted everything he could think of, the water was already to his waist. He gasped a bit as his body started to get wet, the moisture in the air prevented him from being able to start any flames that could potentially melt the tank's metal.

He was stuck.. and that was slowly starting to sink in to him. Flambae huffed and did his best to wiggle again.. but he started to feel weaker and weaker the more he tried. His body was shaking from the anxiety he felt.. he didn't know what to do. The more he got anxious.. the more his mind started to go into his regressed headspace.

"N-no.. no. Not now, come on.. just fucking think!"

Flambae grumbled to himself, kicking and punching the tank as hard as his body physically could..but it didn't stop anything. Now the water was to his stomach.

"Robert.. please.. hurry up.."

He grumbled.. his eyes focused on the water that was rising above his body. His body was frozen with fear.. then eventually, his eyes started to well up with tears. He was so frustrated that he couldn't get out.. it made him feel so weak. That feeling of weakness and vunrebility only allowed for his regression to kick in full gear.

He didn't want it to.. but he couldn't stop it from happening.

Flambae sniffled and whimpered, his legs trembling in fear.. he didn't know what to do.

"B-Bob Bob.."

He whimpered, doing his best not to cry. He didn't want to cry.. he hates crying.

"H-hurry up..! Come get me!"

He urged, banging on the tank once again, but nothing happened. He yelled out and banged his arms against the metal in an attempt to get out once again,

"P-please!! I'm so scared! J-jus' help me!"

..there was a small pop sound. Then eventually, the top of the tank came off. He gasped and quickly climbed out of it.. his body was soaked with water. He let out a deep breath and looked around.. Punch-Up and Prisim were there. They were the ones that were sent to save him.

"Holy shite, you alright, lad?"

Punch Up asked, quickly making his way towards Flambae to help him get up. Prisim also made her way close to him,

"Damn they were out for you good, man. But I guess that's what happens when you're on the top of the leaderboard, right?"

She joked, thinking that Flambae would go along with it like usual.

But Flambae didn't respond.. he was slowly processing what just happened. Then in response.. he just started crying. He sobbed and covered his face from embarrassment, he didn't want to cry, he really didn't.. but he couldn't help it.

"T-that was so.. scary!!"

He sobbed and hiccuped, quickly catching the attention of Prisim and Punch-Up.. they both shared a look with each other, they knew what was going on.

Prisim frowned and pressed her ear piece,

"Me and Punch Up are gonna be awhile coming back Robert."

Then she turned off her ear piece, going back to Flambae's aid, Punch-Up was right there with him.

"Sssh.. ssh,"

She shushed the crying boy, wrapping his arm around her neck and lifting him up.

"It's alright.. it's over now."

She reassured, but Flambae was still crying.

"Man.. he was pretty damn scared, huh? Haven't seen him regress in a long while."

Punch Up commented, which surprised Prisim a bit.

"Shit, you've seen him like this before? Why is this the first time I'm hearing this?"

Prisim asked

"My lips stay sealed for secrets."

He winked, "But that doesn't matter now, little lad needs us."

He stood beside the side that wasn't being supported by Prisim, helping Flambae stand up by supporting his leg.

Then together, they started to make it back to SDN.

-Timeskip-

Flambae had ended up regressing pretty damn young, almost to the headspace of a two year old. That was really rare for him, he never regressed that young.. but that scare from earlier was enough for him to regress into that state.

Prisim was on the couch, waiting for Punch-Up and Flambae to come back. He was helping Flambae get changed out of his hero suit since it was all wet.

Eventually, Flambae came back with a long-black shirt on and some red shorts.. and a grumpy look on his face.

Prisim laughed a bit and allowed him to snuggle close to her on the couch,

"And what're you so cranky for?"

"He didn't like that he needed help getting dressed. Tried doing it himself, but I helped him eventually."

He chuckled, which got a small whine from Flambae in response.

Flambae was starting to feel a bit better now that he was out of those wet clothes, all he wanted now was some cuddles and snuggles.

But he suddenly tensed up a bit when he saw Robert and Invisigal come in the room.. he didn't really want them here, his regressed mind was mad at them. Mad at Robert for not being "fast enough" and mad at Invisigal for putting him in the tank in the first place.

"How's he holding up? He okay?"

Robert asked, Invisigal was behind him.

Prisim nodded and ran his fingers through Flambae's hair, soon starting to undo his ponytail so he could be more comfortable.

"He's alright, just tired and cranky.. he ended up regressing in the damn tank."

Prisim sighed, "He just needs a little TLC, that's all.."

"A lil' more than that. Lad needs a damn nap."

Punch Up added, ruffling the regressed hero's hair.. but Flambae wasn't paying attention to that, his focus was locked on a certain someone. He saw that Invisigal was behind Robert.. and that made him angry, visibly angry.

Invisigal was starting to notice the tension she created between them, she regretted what she did. Not only what she did to Flambae, but to everyone she tried to sabotage. With a sheepish look, she stepped closer to Flambae.

"Okay.. look, I'm not the best with these.. but."

She looked at him with sorrowful eyes, he still looked angry..rightfully so. Despite that, she took a deep breath and continued.

"But.. I'm sorry about what I did. I guess I just.. kind of panicked since once of us were being cut.. but that's still not an excuse. You don't deserve that, and I'm really sorry I did that to you."

She let out a deep sigh and messed with her fingers,

"You don't have to forgive me right now or.. whatever. But,"

She held out her fist, signifying for a fist bump.

"Can we be cool eventually?"

She didn't expect much, she wasn't good with apologies.

But to her surprise, Flambae slowly raised his fist, gently bumping it against hers with a small smile on his face. Maybe he wasn't completely ready to forgive her, but it was a sign that he would be ready to in the near future.

Invisigal smiled, her expression relaxing now that some tension was gone for her.

"Thanks, big guy.."

Flambae nodded but quickly snuggled back close to Prisim.. he was getting tired from all of what happened today, that was clear to everyone.

"Well, we'll leave you guys to it.. I'll be back to pick him up if he's still like this when my shift is over."

Robert stepped closer and patted Flambae's head, which made the regressed hero smile yet again.

"See you later, kid."

Flambae nodded and waved his hand,

"See 'ou later.."

Sure Do!

Robert Regresses anywhere from the age of 4-11(the last ages he felt safe). He will regress on the younger end if he has had a stressful day. He doesn't need padding, but he won't be opposed to being put in any padding.

He tends to regress around Chase, Royd, and Blazer. The Z-Team learns later on, and Robert is accepted by everyone on the team. Much to his relief and annoyance. Queue the jokes on comms with

His best friends ,besides Beef, are Visi, Waterboy, and surprisingly Flambae. He likes to play big brother to the other littles.

Chase is his primary caregiver, along with Royd. He likes to be babied secretly and hates to admit it. Robert is a crybaby and knows how to push Chase's buttons to get what he wants.

He is prone to nightmares and wants comfort but will oftentimes hear Astral's words about him toughening up. Robert will cry from it and try to hold himself together only to fall apart.

Until his apartment got furnished ;by Chase, Blazer, and Z-team; he stays with Chase. When his apartment does get furnished, he secretly is happy about it and plays with the toys that he secretly got.

He likes to touch his ear scar when regressed. Chase tries to get him to stop, but he can't stop it. It helps calm his anxiety until Beef comes by.

Robert likes to be called Bobby when regressed. But he will accept being called Bob Bob by Flambae.

He doesn't carry a Mecha-Man plushie. He carries around a Track Star plush. He carries it everywhere, and he likes to play with ut in front of Chase to butter him up.

Katon-Ur/Phenomenon Caregiver headcanons!

heee has no idea what hes doin, hes tryin his best man!!

He kinda bundles and babys even older littles because humans are so fragile!!! and where hes from it takes way longer for someone to reach adult hood, so its drawn out more, so his concept of age is totally different to a humans!!

but hes learning!! doin all the research he can on humans and their psychology and children's psychology and everything he can learn about regression!! and just everything he can about humans tbh

he mainly babysits since he doesnt know much about littles and humans as a whole, but when littles are feeling extra small? he's the perfect one to go to!!! hes so strong he can always hold and cradle a little and he has a surprisingly nice singing voice! a nice deep bass tone, rumbles his chest and feels niiiiiice, like having a big cat purring!! which he can also do if he wants-

he doesnt play favorites, but he always has a bag with at least 2-3 toys everyone would like!! horses for Courtny, some sparkly toys for Alice, a fully charged switch at all times for Chad, a waterproof plushy and some plastic fish for Herman, some clicky toys for Victor, a plush or two for Jenelle, and a rattle and a posable dragon toy for Cole! and plenty of pacis to choose from for all of em if they want em!!

he doesnt really get regression?? he knows knows sometimes his friends need extra help! his species doesnt do/grow/work like humans in the slightest so he has no idea what a baby is or a child or a kid or a preteen or a teen or hell, even an adult looks like for humans!

he knows he wants to help people and he knows he REALLY wants to help his friends and teammates!! so he does his best!

he's like, the primary sitter too, he has everything and if he doesnt he's so fast he can get it in under a minute!! and thanks to all his research he can get the littles and flips all sorts of gifts!! he goes all out for every holiday, since he doesnt get the concept but sees people giving gifts on those days- then he does it for all the other holidays- told tell him about any holidays outside the most common ones- he will be getting his littles so many more gifts- but granted, no one would really be complaing-

he 100% finds or makes toys from his home planet!! they look weird but all of em made fun noises and have pretty colors and the plushes are so cool!!!

since he basically babysits all the littles and flips like all the time when one of the caregivers arent around, he pretty much has a new toy or something to give the littles every day, from toys he made or found, to plushies he saw that made him think of one of the littles, to new cds with songs he thought they'd like(he eventually figures out how to make spotify playlists, after many many hard hours of the other carers teaching him how to first, use a phone, and then, what all the apps and buttons do- it fascinates him despite his planet having much more advance tech), to pretty much anything he can think of, blankets? sure! new pillows? everyone likes soft things! new mobile for the littliest littles? oh yeah! new furniture for their room/littlespace room if they have one? as long as they have room for it, why not!

he loves reading bedtime stories, from simple picture books to fantasy novels! and he LOVES singing his littles to sleep, he knows all the english lullaby's and even more from his home planet!! the lullaby's from his home planet can vary from hauntingly beautiful, to so relaxing thanks to it resonating in his chest that it can make your joints creak from how relaxed his littles can get!!

he considers all the littles and flips amongst his friends his littles, he doesnt care if he's not their primary caregiver, or if they even like him babysitting them, they're his, and it doesnt matter if they're actively little or not they are under his protection, and he's way to strong to fuck with- he keeps going off during missions when he hears someone getting hurt, but Robert lets it slide because they're all his littles too!!

he tries his best to adjust to the needs of all the littles, he tries so hard but they each have such different needs that he doesnt know what to research first!! like, babies like floor time and cuddles and plushies right?? but then the kids need playtime and active structure so they arent getting hurt or flying off the handle- then the teens need less structure and less reminders but they also need MORE outside time but not in a park??? hes so confused but hes trying soooo haaaaardddd

Katon-Ur almost always shortens his name to just Katon bc the -Ur part is confusing and hard to pronounce for humans, especially for the littles, and Katon sounds more like a 'dad name' in his opinion, so he goes with it! he wants to be seen as fatherly!! all his research made him wanna be that way to the littles! and the more he understands regression the more he wants to be like a father figure!

Caregiver Chase/Track Star headcanons!!

He's 100% a caregiver,

he usually babysits all the littles and flips in the SDN, but he cares for Robert and the Z team a lot! he's been accepted as the whole teams grandpa, even if he's not much older than some of them-

he's really chill as a caregiver, but if you do something bad he will sit you down and explain why not to do it(in words you can understand at your age of course), even if you've already done it loads of times before-

he doesnt get mad at his littles, he just wants them to be safe!

he has no preference for littles, he knows how to care for all age ranges by now!

he's got all sorts of 'connections' aka he can get his littles into places afterhours where they can play! without anyone to judge them!! trampoline parks, arcades, mini golf courses, zoos, aquariums, museums, even some waterparks and pools!

He organizes 'grampa playdates'! he babysits a group of littles, either at his house or somewhere else(see above lol), he knows what littles get along with who and what the whole group likes and they're always fun!! sometimes he gets another sitter juuust in case or to help watch multiple kinds of littles, some like fast!! some like sloooowww, or different age ranges!

he has a notes app he has AALLL the info he thinks is important about every little his sits or might sit! from likes and dislikes to little tells of how young/old they are to what they like to do and their favorite toys, books, and shows, to any other note or detail he keeps track of, its nifty when he needs another sitter to do his job!! he basically info dumps all the info that isnt personal info, down to every carer, babysitter, and favorite playmate's carers and babysitters!!

he prides himself in being a good caregiver!! and is usually sitting a little or a pet regressor!! and if a little or pet is one of the eepy ones he'll even do his job with them in his lap or under his desk!! and tootally isnt sneaking them treats haha

his house isnt the biggest but its set up and decorated like an old grandparents house! its warm and homey with a nice yard and two spare bedrooms! but usually he lets the littles or pets staying over sleep in the living room, the recliner is oversized and big enough for someone to sleep on it sideways or two people to sleep in it with the feet kicked out! and the two couches have reclining ends too!!

his house also has a really big CRTV! and the flat screen over it has a painting he can drop in front of it if they use it, gives it that old grandparents house feel!! buut the flat screen is also good lol, either way he has vhses and dvds and pretty much every streaming services a kiddo could want!!

in his yard theres some climbing equipment big enough for his littles and a few slides!! and ofc, swings!!! and a nice sand pit! even some doggy obstacle course stuff for the pets! everything padded to keep little hands from getting hurt!

random bit, idk what to connect this to, but I had a thought of during flambae’s childhood. the idea of him being engulfed in flames and in distress.

whether as an infant who is crying for comfort from his parent, or just a young kid being unable to control his power. and his dad can’t touch him. can’t hug him. can’t do anything except talk to him. for risk of being burned. but he stays near him and says that he’ll stay with him as long as it takes.

just being in distress, and comfort is so close by, but they can’t reach you because it’s dangerous for them to try.

also, in contrast of robbie just telling robert to “get up” when he’s hurt and crying in chase’s arms. flambae’s dad says that he’ll wait with his son when he’s panicking and goes to hold him after he’s cooled down enough and he’s able to safely hug him.

and also, the idea of some people being scared of flambae. scared to touch him or be near him because of his fire powers and how destructive they can be. and that becomes more apparent when he starts acting as a villain and gets arrested, and the first non-combative, reassuring physical contact he has with another person is when his dad hugs him after he’s let out of prison.

and then, robert can count on his one hand the amount of times his dad ever hugged him.

(I don’t think you’ve made a dispatch post yet, so if you’d like to add your classifications for all of them, please feel free, additionally, while I am partial to regressor Robert, I do quite enjoy the hc people have been saying if him being a flip :3)

Oh, Robert.

I don't think Robert ever really moved on from his father's death. I think it's something that is always in the back of his mind, always the thought that comes back when he's alone with himself or trying to go to sleep. It's never really an intense grief, just a low simmer in the background, and I think this is what influences his regression the most.

In my mind, Robert's regression is dictated almost entirely by the presence or lack thereof of parental or familial comfort. Is Chase dramatically recounting his glory day missions just like his dad used to (on the rare chance he and Robert got to talk like that)? Robert starts to slip. Is he half-asleep in the break room during a night shift and a member of Z Team tosses a coat over his shoulders to use as a blanket? Fuzzy. Is he sitting alone in his apartment in the dark, curled up beside the mech suit? He falls asleep little. If you catch him at the right (or wrong, depending on who you ask) time, anything that reminds him of his dad or gives him that familial love he often missed out on causes him to get at least a little fuzzy.

There's a mood for it though, mostly when it's calm or he doesn't have anything else important on his mind. I don't think he'd be fighting off his regression daily or anything, and I actually think he'd be fairly willing to indulge it when he felt it come on. Because it's softer, y'know? Everything's a little simpler, a little quieter, even if it's a bad day.

I also think that most of Robert's regression is on the younger side, but not quite a baby. Like 2-4 ish. He's a little sleepy, pretty quiet, and is content to have other people tell him exactly what he's doing that day. Occasionally he'll be much older, in his tweens/teens, and that's where he gets rowdy and energetic. He wants to run around, do something physical. He's still got a lot of angst in there, but it manifests similar to the Z-Team's energy, snarky and loud.

My guy loves having his hair played with, his back scratched, anything in that ballpark regardless of little age. 2-year-old Robert will conk out just the same as 13-year-old Robert if someone's playing with his hair (it's usually Blonde Blazer).

Really hates feeling ignored, left-out, or left behind. When he's feeling younger it might cause him to age-up again because the "I Must Be Self Sufficient" curse kicks back in, but when he's middle regressed he can get really withdrawn and pouty. Everything cuts much deeper to tween-Robert than little or big Robert, and in that way he's much more likely to have outbursts or cry when he's middle regressed than when he's little.

Prefers the Z-Team as caregivers when he's middle regressed, and prefers Blonde Blazer and Chase when he's little.

I could absolutely see Robert as a flip, but in the Tired-Uncle babysitting way, not really in a doting-parent way. He supervises quietly until someone tries to stick their finger in an outlet, and then he steps in. He's not cold or anything; he'll give little bits of input on games of pretend and he'll compliment your artwork, but he doesn't baby-talk or use nicknames or anything. He's a little blunt. Early on he had an issue with letting an upset little "cry it out" and not doing anything because "I dunno, that's what my dad did, and I turned out fine.". He was told not to do that.
