A little bit of Antoine’s story:

Antoine was born in Nice, France and lived there all his childhood with his mom and grandparents there. When he was 15, he had his first opportunity as a football player and decided to take it and move to England. It was not easy for him for the first years, everything was new: the language, the way they played, the league, the house he was staying and the fact that he was far from his family, was really hard. Two years after, his family moved to England to stay with him, now that he was a important player for his team and everything seemed to be settled. While in england, he became a famous football player and years later, when he was 21, he had the opportunity to play to Real Madrid in Spain. After discussing a lot with his family about the decision, he decided to leave England and try that new experience in Spain.

As angry as I am at Spurs medical staff, that concussion protocols were enacted and Vertonghen passed them in order to come back in the pitch proves how much these protocols need to change.

These were two days apart. Both of these players were allowed back on the pitch.

Jan Vertonghen could have died today. We need independent doctors to assess injuries and allow teams to have a fourth sub for head injuries. I don’t care if some teams exploit this and fake head injuries to use the fourth sub. I literally don’t care. It is worth it to protect the players.
