Equality in D/s

Some may argue you cant have equality if you are in a D/s relationship.

I believe you can and should. I’m not talking about the submissive having the right to dominate the Dominant (unless that’s your thing). You don’t have to do exactly what your Dominant does to be considered equal.

We should enter into our D/s relationships on equal terms. Both have the right to voice concerns, both have the right to disagree with the other and both have the right to stop things if it is truly not what they want. Enjoying ourselves is also a mark of equality. Our definitions of enjoyment may come from different perspectives but both parties have the right to enjoy what they do.

Some may feel that because a submissive has chosen to submit they give up these rights and equality. In truth they don’t. As a submissive you have more power than you may like to admit. You have the power to say no and you have the power to walk away just as you have the right to delegate your power to a Dominant.

Where there is equality in the relationship there is respect. Respect strengthens a relationship and it is no different in a D/s relationship. Respect for each other heightens the pleasure so you meet each other on equal footing from your different positions.
