Anyway if nothing else matters then I hope people remember that Pope Francis used his last public address to call for a ceasefire in Gaza and call Israel a terrorist state:
"I continue to receive very serious and painful news from Gaza. Unarmed civilians are subjected to bombings and shootings. It is terrorism."
From Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish
i hope this is alright for me to add, but this poem references a line from one of hitler's speeches ordering the genocide of polish jews. at the end of the speech, he justified the genocide by saying "who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the armenians?" in a very literal way, genocides are interconnected and used to justify one another. after all, the holocaust was partially modeled after the united states' genocide of indigenous people. this is why it is so important to remember the victims of all genocides across history, and why it is so important for oppressed peoples to stand together in solidarity.
have you seen that girl on tiktok that thinks rome is a myth and latin was created by the catholic church during the spanish inquisition?

My mom asking me why I was calling her about a cake recipe and not watching the Super Bowl with friends and me having to explain to her that I have no friends here/they all have boy/girlfriends who they spend time with on the weekends which is why I bake on the weekends cause it’s fucking lonely. And wanting to tweet about it but not wanting to come off pathetic on the internet also because my ex follows me on Twitter so here I am thank you Tumblr.
honestly it’s almost like our generation is set up to be lonelier & more anxious & more insane like imagine already being 20/30-something, the period of your life where you’re expected to be “at your prime”, in the middle of a climate crisis and a pandemic, under late-stage capitalism’s celebrity culture that conditions you to be as likeable & “marketable” as possible, where it seems like every lived experience should be watchable/profitable. & you look at the future you’re supposed to be working hard for & all you see is climate catastrophe meanwhile you scroll down a little & see a skin care ad that’s like “fight aging”. i haven’t said anything here that hasn’t already been said by someone else, but imagine being 20/30-something & normal

“Let's say that I taught them Chess instead of English. Every conversation would be a game. Every idea expressed through opposition, victory, defeat. You see the problem? If all I ever gave you was a hammer...”

- A luxury you can’t live without? - A luxury I can’t live without? Coffee. I really like good coffee. - That’s not a luxury, you can get it anywhere. - …I like nice socks?

I can’t even say it. I’ll just say it. Pamphlet. I don’t even mind “moist”, not so bad. I don’t mind “pussy”, people don’t like that word. “Panties” I think is a hilarious, great word.
