In 1987, Michael appeared in an advertisement for Amnesty International to support the organization's 25th anniversary. The ad was part of Amnesty International's campaign to highlight its 25 years of working to protect human rights and fight injustice worldwide. Michael's involvement with Amnesty International was known to be a cause close to his heart, reflecting his broader commitment to human rights.
'It’s striking to watch Michael Hutchence’s performance and just see him transform in the moment. Wherever he is when he walks on the stage, he goes somewhere completely different mentally to reach inside and deliver that performance that he delivers. You can just see that in his eyes.'
-Tim Farriss / INXS
Harley-Davidson is Michael’s favourite brand of motorbike. He has loved them all his life.

'I look through the mind's, eye and the soul and the heart. I just write that way, it's a soul thing speaking of songwriting.'

'Michael was essentially a shy guy who seemed to hide behind his hair, his speech impediment and his retiring manner. While he resented intrusions into his privacy, he resisted becoming removed from the real world. He wanted to be able to hold up the bar in a nightclub and talk to anyone. The surprising thing was that as his fame grew his ego didn’t and the oddest thing about spending time around Hutchence was just how regular a person he was.'
