Someone suggested I make one of these. I know its crazy to try , but it doesn’t hurt . Its for my grandparents . They wont ask for help, so I am trying to help my grandparents get the surgery they both need for different reasons. I never like asking anyone for help, but its for them. It would mean alot to me . On behalf of my grandparents, and me Thank you.

#ZaynLeft1DForISIS It’s like this: a boy with brown skin becomes famous and people accuse him of terrorism. his white girlfriend wears a bindi and nobody bats an eye. It’s like this: when I was young, my mother said: “don’t touch your lips; you’ll look like a camel if they get too big.” (fast forward ten years: Kylie Jenner says “lip liner changed my life.”) It’s like this: I cannot name you more than one celebrity who looks like me, like my brother, who has my country’s blood running in his veins. but I can name you ten white girls who wear bindis as a fashion accessory; who think mehndi is a cool trend; who imagine my vibrant, beautiful country as just another third-world wreck. It’s like this: I have ripped and burned and lightened my skin in order to look more like you. I have watched women who look like my sisters, who are my sisters, lose their lives for wearing hijabs. I have watched my brother abandon every word of Urdu that he has ever known, because he is American. and American means white. It’s like this: I was named for the Prophet’s daughter and my full name is eight syllables long but you can’t even pronounce the first two correctly. you can’t even pronounce Pakistan correctly. It’s like this: my country was ravaged and savaged by people who look just like you. my grandparents were alive for our Independence Day. and you say: “the past is the past, forgive and forget.” and you say: “9/11: never forget.” It’s like this: your biggest problem is being called racist because it’s an ugly word for an ugly person. It’s like this: my biggest problem is being called terrorist. because a boy can’t leave a band without being that hated. because an interviewer once asked him: “is it true you brought a gun to school?” and he said: “it wasn’t mine, it was a toy gun, it wasn’t real, I’M NOT A TERRORIST I’M NOT – ”

shoutout to people with super dark brown eyes. you look awesome
are there even any houses in the usa which touch each other???
like in britain some houses are terraced or semi-detached
but in america they’re like “dON’t tOUch mE!”
I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT BRITISH NEIGHBORHOODS LOOKED LIKE. THANK YOU.
Isn’t that like a major fire code violation? Like if one house catches on fire, POOF there goes the whole fucking street up in flames.
we never learn
@taylorswift and Adam Levine
And their best interaction was on the Voice were she had Adam rolling on the floor.
CLOCK HER
some feminist she is
she worked with imogen heap on clean which she produced aswell. taylor co-produced 6 of the 13 track on 1989 and 6 of them were only produced with shellback and max martin. idk about you but i remember at VMAs when she got shit for going up on stage surrounded by empowered women but now she goes up with hard working men and again, she’s wrong.
if you’d like, here is a link to taylor talking about working with a female producer and how amazing it was to see that imogen was doing all the things you usually see men doing in the production side of music (https://www.grammypro.com/professional-development/video/listening-session-taylor-swift-1989-part-3) funnily enough it was part of the lead up to the grammys and pretty well publicised.
and just a fun fact: she wrote speak now entirely by herself and co-produced it with nathan chapman only so it was a 50-50 male female/split on producers. Why do you people constantly look for reasons to hate her?
In addition… She is the one talking, she is the one with the power in the studio with the final say on every cut. With her lyrics running the show and her voice being the most important opinion in everything to do with the album. She is a producer, she is female??? She is a female producer. She specifically wanted to work with imogen heap and she did and then a lot of the album was written with people she’d previously worked with and knew she liked and knew she worked well with. But obviously. Not specifically looking to work with female producers (only 5% of music producers btw) makes her feminism … Hmm… Less authentic? “Clock” worthy? Is that what you are trying to say
PS: for a little maths 5% (percentage of music producers who are female) of 16 (number of tracks on 1989) is 80%. So, 80% of a single track needed to have a female producer for it to have been indicative of the current ratio of female:male producers in the industry. But 37.5% of the album was made up of tracks with a female producer and 6.25% was ONLY female producers. AND with 2/12 (16.67%) producers being female that’s 3 times what would be expected from the number of female music producers in the industry right???
All of the above and are we honestly going to ignore the fact that so many PoC are being represented here, so what if there isn’t another woman on the stage (considering she herself is a woman, and there were other women involved that just couldn’t be there) there is clearly a sense of equality and diversity among her team.
Literally, whatever Taylor does, it cannot be enough. What about not having worked with other women makes her less of a feminist- in the end she has become an icon for other women to be inspired, hasn’t she?
What about the other women who held Grammys because of the Bad Blood music video???
If you’re going to insult Taylor for achieving something unprecedented and the question her role as a feminist, you’re the real misogynist.
