Y-you're a good person, so you deserve a good day, I-I guess."

all of these ... were for him? looking down at the boxes of sweets and back up at his friend, he’s immediately AWARE that a lot of hard work and preparation was put into this. “thank you jin-chan! they look great, in fact --- “ lips form a grateful smile when he goes to take a pastry out of one of the boxes, taking a bite and as the flavor kicks in, brown hues widen in response to it.

“ooooh! these are really good!” toshiaki knew that she didn’t give COMPLIMENTS that easily, so hearing her say such words made him feel joyful. “you’re a good person too, jin-chan.” he speaks SINCERELY, flashing another smile. “and you’re also an AWESOME cook! hmm, i can try and make you something next time for lunch! if you’d like.”

sometimes he forgets that suzuki is an ENTIRE year older than him (most likely cause of their height difference) but he didn’t essentially care all that much. RECEIVING the bag of manga, the teen POINTS at himself as if to silently say “for me?”, well yes, dumby, it is your birthday after all.

peeking inside the bag he was not disappointed, in fact he was THRILLED. “you got all my favorites!!” smiling wide, he leans down to give a GIANT hug to his best friend (taking him off the ground a little bit) and safely puts him back down. “t-thank you so much, suzu! you’re the best!”

brown eyes SHIMMER with enthusiasm at the sight, was this really all for him? typically his birthday wasn’t overly celebrated at home, (he’d get a gift or two, but all he wanted was to spend time with his family) so to see one of his TEAMMATES go far as this, really WARMS his heart.

he wasn’t doing much, mostly FIDDLING with a pencil in his hand to pass the time. hearing the sound of someone clearing their throat, bright brown eyes LOCATE the girl in FRONT of him, and INSTANTLY toshiaki recognizes her.

“jin chan!” what a nice surprise. there’s an ENTHUSIASTIC smile overtaking his expression as his ATTENTION is (finally) caught by the other. the whole “date” scenario goes over his head, his goofy smile remaining as he happily responds. “sure! i’m not doing anything anyway, what did you want to show me?”

The answer is yes. Of course she does. That was the only reason she was threading her fingers through his short hair and tugging it a little harder each time she did so, a big smile across her face the entire time.

“soft and nice?” at those words, a big smile surfaces. it was no surprise that toshiaki was NAIVE to people’s intentions, so he completely overlooked any possibility that this was done for another intent other than to just COMPLIMENT him and his fluffy hair.

“nope! -- you can play with it as long as you want to.” it feels nice, actually.
