Living for Al-Akhirah

For indeed, with every hardship there will be ease (فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا) 49:5

Everything has hikmah behind it. Sometimes the things that break us, delay us, or confuse us are actually part of Allah’s protection, guidance, or preparation for something better. We may not understand it now, but Allah sees the full picture while we only see a small part of it. That’s why we trust Him — because even painful things can carry hidden mercy.

لكل أمرٍ حكمةٌ خفية.

أحيانًا تكون الأشياء التي تُتعب قلوبنا، أو تؤخر خطواتنا، أو تجعلنا في حيرة، ما هي إلا رحمةٌ من الله ولطفٌ منه، يحمينا بها أو يهيئ لنا ما هو خير. قد نعجز عن فهم الأسباب الآن، لكن الله يرى ما لا نراه، ويعلم ما تخفيه الأيام. لذلك نطمئن إليه ونثق بتدبيره، فكم من ألمٍ كان يحمل وراءه رحمةً عظيمة.

اتعود كل يوم تنام على نظافة!

ذنوب اليوم كله تغفر قبل ما تنام بالذكر ده عشان ربنا سبحانه وتعالى هو الكريم.. من قال حين يأوي إلى فراشه:

(لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك، وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيءٍ قدير، لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم، سبحان اللهِ، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر).

غُفرت ذنوبه ولو كانت مثل زبد البحر 🤍

﴿قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُمْ بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ﴾

أي: أنتم تدعون الإيمان وتتمدحون بالدين الحق، وأنتم قتلتم أنبياء الله، واتخذتم العجل إلها من دون الله، لما غاب عنكم موسى، نبي الله، ولم تقبلوا أوامره ونواهيه إلا بعد التهديد ورفع الطور فوقكم، فالتزمتم بالقول، ونقضتم بالفعل، فما هذا الإيمان الذي ادعيتم، وما هذا الدين؟. فإن كان هذا إيمانا على زعمكم، فبئس الإيمان الداعي صاحبه إلى الطغيان، والكفر برسل الله، وكثرة العصيان، وقد عهد أن الإيمان الصحيح، يأمر صاحبه بكل خير، وينهاه عن كل شر، فوضح بهذا كذبهم، وتبين تناقضهم.

أَخَافُ أَنْ أَكُونَ عَبْدًا جَحُودًا، أَعُدُّ الْبَلَايَا وَأَنْسَى النِّعَمَ.

I’m afraid I might be an ungrateful servant, always counting the hardships and forgetting the blessings

‏جلست يوماً أُحصِي ذنُوبي فإذا هي آلاف، فجعلتُ أقول: يا سُفيان! تقف بين يدي الله؛ فيسألك عن آلاف الذنوب؟ ماذا ستقول؟ والله لَيسقُطَن لحمُ وجهِك؛ خجلاً وأنت تعرِض قبائحك على الله... يا سفيان! هذا ما تذكَّرته، فكيف بما أحصاه الله ونسيتَه أنت؟!.

One day I sat down to count my sins, and they were in the thousands. I said to myself, 'O Sufyan! You’re going to stand before Allah, and He’ll ask you about all these sins — thousands of them. What will you say?' By Allah, the skin on your face will fall off from shame when you show your ugly deeds to Him... O Sufyan! That’s just what you remembered — what about what Allah counted and you forgot?

لا إلهَ إلاَّ اللَّه وحْدهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لهُ، لَهُ المُلْكُ، ولَهُ الحمْدُ، وَهُو عَلَى كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

مَا كانَ ظنِي أيَا رَحمنُ فِيكَ سِوَى خَيرًا وَلاَ كنتُ غَيرَ الخيرِ أنتَظِرُ ..

لم تكُن إنتكاسه عاديه أبدًا !!

طالَ بُعدي ؛

طالَ أمدي ؛ هلكَ قلبي ؛ غفوتُ عن قيامي ؛ ثقُلت صلاتي ؛ قلَّ وِردُ قرآني ؛ زادت وَحشَتي،

دنيا كهذه مليئه بالفتن صارت تعصف بقلبي عصفًا!

من يحمِل عني اوزاري يوم القيامة؟

أيّ عملٍ لي سينقذني !!

أعني عليَّ فإني عَدوِّي.

It wasn’t just an ordinary downfall…!

My distance grew long;

My absence dragged on;

My heart became worn out;

I slept through my night prayers;

My salah grew heavy;

My recitation faded;

My soul grew lonelier…

This world—so full of temptations—

now storms through my heart relentlessly!

Who will carry my burdens on the Day of Judgment?

What deed of mine will save me?!

Help me…

for I am my own worst enemy.

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ فُتِحَتْ لَهُ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يَدْخُلُ مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاءَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Umar bin Al-Khattab narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: 'Whoever performs Wudu, making Wudu well, then says: (Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan-abduhu wa rasuluhu, Allahummajalni minat tawwabin, waj'alni minal mutatahhirin) 'I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone, there are no partners for Him. And I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah! Make me among the repentant, and make me among those who purify themselves.' Then eight gates of Paradise are opened for him, that may enter by whichever of them wishes."

لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم،

لا إله إلا الله رب العرش الكريم،

لا إله إلا الله رب السماوات والأرض، ورب العرش العظيم.

they told me my job description but i think i’ve got it wrong. they said i was supposed to man the lighthouse and save lost ships from going down.

but every time i saw the ships i forgot about the light. i dove headfirst into the sea and swam to save their life.

i drowned us both in the process; the ships never found the shore. i ended up helping less when i meant to be helping more.

i think when they told me to save people with my light, i mistook their words and tried to save people with my life.

i know i should have turned the light on, i know i should have taken their advice, but i don’t know what love is if it is not sacrifice.

{ لِّیَجۡزِیَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ بِصِدۡقِهِمۡ وَیُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ إِن شَاۤءَ أَوۡ یَتُوبَ عَلَیۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا } 33: 24

-

﴿لِيَجْزِيَ اللهُ الصَّادِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ﴾ أي: بسبب صدقهم، في أقوالهم، وأحوالهم، ومعاملتهم مع اللّه، واستواء ظاهرهم وباطنهم، قال اللّه تعالى: ﴿هَذَا يَوْمُ يَنْفَعُ الصَّادِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا﴾ الآية.

أي: قدرنا ما قدرنا، من هذه الفتن والمحن، والزلازل، ليتبين الصادق من الكاذب، فيجزي الصادقين بصدقهم ﴿وَيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ﴾ الذين تغيرت قلوبهم وأعمالهم، عند حلول الفتن، ولم يفوا بما عاهدوا اللّه عليه.

﴿إِنْ شَاءَ﴾ تعذيبهم، بأن لم يشأ هدايتهم، بل علم أنهم لا خير فيهم، فلم يوفقهم.

﴿أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾ بأن يوفقهم للتوبة والإنابة، وهذا هو الغالب، على كرم الكريم، ولهذا ختم الآية باسمين دالين على المغفرة، والفضل، والإحسان فقال: ﴿إِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رحيمًا﴾ غفورًا لذنوب المسرفين على أنفسهم، ولو أكثروا من العصيان، إذا أتوا بالمتاب. ﴿رَحِيمًا﴾ بهم، حيث وفقهم للتوبة، ثم قبلها منهم، وستر عليهم ما اجترحوه.

{ وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلࣲّ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُۖ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِی هَدَىٰنَا لِهَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهۡتَدِیَ لَوۡلَاۤ أَنۡ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُۖ لَقَدۡ جَاۤءَتۡ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ وَنُودُوۤا۟ أَن تِلۡكُمُ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ أُورِثۡتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ }

When it comes to recognising the importance of niyyah (intention), this specific hadith always comes to mind:

مَن طَلَبَ الشَّهادَةَ صادِقًا، أُعْطِيَها، ولو لَمْ تُصِبْهُ.

“Whosoever asks for martyrdom sincerely shall be granted its reward, even if he does not achieve it.” [Sahīh Muslim 1908]

One thing we can learn from this hadith, is how crucial ikhlaas - sincerity, is. If you are sincere with Allah, He will grant you the reward of martyrdom even if you died in your bed, even if your feet never got dusty in His path.

People leave their beloved, lose their limbs, go through starvation and injuries and countless horrors in the Cause of Allah before they attain martyrdom in His path. So how can someone who's never faced any of that be granted the same reward?

Because we can ask Allah and make dua all we want for the rest of our lives, but Allah knows what's in our hearts. Allah knows for whom shahadah is a far-fetched dream and a lip service, and for whom it is a lifelong effort to achieve it. Allah knows the hearts that constantly yearn for it, the hearts that are always ready to jump on the caravan. Allah knows the feet that walk to work and the hands that are engaged in worldly things but their biggest concerns are those of the ummah and the aakhirah. Allah knows the grief and longing that rips them apart. The guilt and regret that eats at them.

Because sincerity is not lip service. Sincerity is doing every little thing to please Allah because Allah only handpicks those and grants the rizq of shahadah to those whom He is pleased with. Sincerity is your whole lifestyle, it is your whole mindset. Sincerity is actions, sincerity is the state of your heart that no one but Allah knows. And you cannot intend if you are not sincere, and your intention cannot have determination if you are not sincere.

A sincere dua to Allah can move mountains, it can create mountains that did not exist, it can crumble the sturdiest of mountains.

In these blessed days, make dua to Allah with sincerity for everything you've ever wanted. For what you want the most. Ask Allah for the impossible,

فهو رب المستحيل

Because He is the Lord of the impossible.

اللهم اجعلنا من عبادك المخلصين، آمين.

وفى تدبر لقصة أصحاب الجنة شيئ يلفت النظر ....أنهم لمامنعوا حق الفقراء منع الله عنهم الخير ...ويتوافق ذلك مع قول المصطفى صلوات ربى وسلامه عليه إنما ترزقون بضعفائكم فكأن الغنى أحوج للفقير من حاجة الفقير إيه ...إذ هو سبب رزق الله له ...

وصدق ربنا الكريم حين قال ...وماتنفقوا من خير يوف إليكم وأنتم لاتظلمون

فاللهم اهدنا صراطك المستقيم وارزقنا عين اليقين ونور البصيرة.

In reflecting on the story of the People of the Garden, there is something noteworthy: they withheld the rights of the poor, and as a result, Allah withheld goodness from them.

This aligns with the saying of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: "You are only provided through your weak ones."

It is as if the rich are in greater need of the poor than the poor are in need of them, for it is through the poor that Allah provides for the rich. And indeed, our generous Lord speaks the truth when He says: "And whatever you spend of good, it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged."

O Allah, guide us to Your straight path, grant us the certainty of sight, and illuminate our hearts.

كان أحدهم كلما مر ببلاء يقول:

مالكٌ يتصرفُ في أملاكهِ، حكيمٌ لا يفعلُ شيئاً عبثاً.

One of them, whenever faced with a trial, would say:

"A Master managing His possessions, a Wise One who does nothing in vain."

كان الحاكم صاحب المستدرك أصابته قرحة في وجهه، فوضع سقاية على بابه يشرب منها الناس، فما مر أسبوع إلا وشُفي، وعاد وجهه أحسن ما كانّ!

Al-Hakim, the compiler of Al-Mustadrak, had an ulcer on his face. He placed a water container at his door for people to drink from. Within a week, he was healed, and his face returned to being better than it had ever been!
