HI YES HELLO! I have a Steven universe x GE AU hehehe....and so does a friend of mine, but I'll let them talk about it later.
ANYWAY, my takes: (PS SPOILERS FOR STEVEN UNIVERSE IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED ITTTT BE WARNED)
Tobias- Peridot.
You cannot convince me otherwise. They're so..alike, if only Tobias was allowed to be silly in a non-murderous way. I can and will rant about this deeper if you need conviction, but just thinking about it. Peri with her loyalty to Yellow Diamond even with her meeting Steven and having a truce? Kinda like Tobias tied to Lucas' teachings even as he meets Rudy and goes to the school. (I know there is like a lot of plot and logic difference BUT tell me you don't see it, I dare you)
Rudy- Pink Diamond/Rose.
I can't explain well why. I also imagined him as Steven because Steven basically redeems Peridot (Tobi) but now that I think about it, Pink diamond fits him too. Changing, the shattering... Her cheerfulness but also her self disrespect after the whole rebellion thing, or at least I saw something about that on Tumblr from an interview or something...anyway, I can't think clearly, but he gives the vibes is the shortest way I can explain it.
Carmelo- Amethyst
I like to think about Amethyst's insecurity about her being not like the other Amethysts a Gem portal of Carmelo's internalized homophobia... I know all the gems are basically women and they don't really think with sexualities because it's a human made thing, and Amethyst doesn't really seem to have any issues in that regard BUT stay with me here. I don't think we've seen Carmelo joke a lot, not like in an Amethyst way but like... he's Amethyst but subdued, is how I'd say it.
Emilio- Pearl/Garnet
Now this is inspired by my friend's au, and I agree. Emilio as pearl....I would also think about him as Garnet if she wasn't a fusion. Or like he's Garnet, but as a fusion of his off-meds personality and his other personality with his meds, which cancel each other out to make Emilio. When they split, one is overly calm, the other needs to be put on a leash.
Tobias has a straight face almost all of the time. But out of nowhere, he'll start crying silently. His expression doesn't change, no one said anything, and nothing even happened. He just....starts tearing up.
When asked why he's crying, he'll surge, neutral faced, not making eye contact and wiping them away. He'll say something dismissive like "my eyes were dry" or "it just happens sometimes". Only because he doesn't know exactly why he's crying. He has a million reasons to be upset, to hate himself, a billion reasons to cry...but he couldn't say any of them. Not only because he wasn't thinking about them, but because he doesn't want to worry people with his own weirdness.

ANYHOO, just wanted to let ya know I didn't forget about this poll and WILL be introducing a new AU to you lot, although it might be a bit crappy because I didn't think about it as much as the others yet so don't get your hopes up too much 😅
On another note, I'll be answering more asks hopefully, from the oldest to the newest ones because why not, some old asks really do deserve some love...and with any luck, finish up the stuff in my drafts!
