I just watched The Last Unicorn and I am not okay.
It would be the last unicorn in the world to come to Molly Grue
Writing comedy is so hard when youâre not funny đ„
would you fall in love with me again, of Epic
except
it's in the memory of Babel and Thorn is singing Penelope's part and Ophélie is singing Odysseus's part

hold on i have to do everything
I know I'm very late to the party but I just started listening to Epic: The Musical for the very first time and I know I'm going to be insufferable about it.
Something I drew instead of reading the fourth book.
And when I say with my entire SOUL that the mirror visitor has the best enemies to lovers plot, I mean it. No one NOONE does it like these books. FINALLY the fmc hates the mmc, his attitude, his choices/actions, and FINALLY his looks(at first, at least). None of this âoh I hate him so much, heâs so annoying and such a bad person. I especially hate his rock hard abs and dark eyesâŠâ NO SHUT UP. Ophelia hated Thorn with everything she had and could not wrap her head around him as a person and genuinely had no interest in him until halfway through the second book, and even then she saw him rather platonically. Finally a fmc that has thought and intention behind her actions, and in the second book she was genuinely more concerned for his wellbeing just as a person. I donât think it occurred to her that she could love him as more than a person she would have to live with, until she realized âactually heâs kinda okay, he makes me feel funny and I kinda donât mind standing next to him nowâ. And FINALLY a mmc that isnât conventionally attractive. Like I donât care if you make all the ladies open their legs, how would you handle the beginning of a revolution and the end of the world. Hell, how would you handle not being an asshole to everyone just because your looks permit you to. Itâs hard to find in books nowadays an mmc that is not just sarcastic and dark just bc idk his childhood dog died and his mother looked at him funny so now itâs everyoneâs problem.
When I say this series literally redefined romance for me, I mean it.
nobody understands the relationship between a girl and her obsession with The Mirror Visitor Quartet (she will never know peace again)

A handsome prince was transformed into a frog by a wicked witch. His attempts in reversing the spell resulted in him being thrown by a disgusted princess who emptily promised him her love when she was in need of his help.Â

A beautiful princess was turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer. The curse was almost broken when a prince vowed to love her. But the vow was broken through the wizardâs deceit, which caused the prince to fall for another.

âYou demanded that you sleep with her? In her very own bed?â Her voice is shrill, matching her scandalized expression. Well, he assumes so. One canât normally tell the facial expression of a bird, but he could conclude from the way her black, beady eyes bore into him. He scoffs, causing his chest to puff up involuntarily. He lets his chest deflate before replying. âI did not demand. She asked for a favor, and I simply laid out my conditions.â
He hops along the path with great speed and agility, leaving the swan waddling with her short webbed feet behind him. Perhaps having batrachian legs isnât as shameful as he initially thought. Swans are inherently graceful creatures, but they look silly walking on land.Â
The frog halts and turns back to her. âMe retrieving her precious golden ball from the well in exchange for her love and companionship. I consider it a fair trade.â As he speaks the last sentence, the white bird finally reaches his side and regards him with a meaningful glare. âThough many might argue that it is not, and perhaps it isnât,â he resigns reluctantly, jumping forward a few paces while the swan seemingly rolls her eyes. âBut even so," the frog continues, âwhen opportunity presents itself, take it. I did, and rightfully so, as the princess agreed to my proposal.âÂ
The swan follows him. âBut look where it got you, thrown outside the window and into the lake,â she remarks.Â
The frog snickers. âAnd you think I regret that decision because it did not conclude as I intended? â He shakes his head. âThatâs where you are mistaken. I do not regret taking chances, especially in desperate situations such as this. What I would regret is not taking them.â
He then gives a dry chuckle. âOn top of thatâŠâ he points a long finger at the bird. âYou are in no position to criticize my failure in breaking my curse. Yours is just as unbroken as mine, yet you spoke of a prince who youâve claimed vowed to love you just as my princess did.â The frog goes further along the path before pausing, tilting his small head thoughtfully. âNow, come to think of it, I donât recall you ever mentioning what exactly you are cursed with.â With that, he looks at her expectantly.Â
At that, the swan slowly stops in her tracks, blinking thoughtfully.Â
After a few beats, she bows down forlornly. âIâd rather not. Itâs no use learning what it is; it wouldnât change anything. Itâs been made permanent.âÂ
âPermanent?â The frog repeats, intrigued, his large eyes wider than they usually are. He hops several steps back and positions himself in front of her.Â
âYes. I had failed my only chance to break it; the consequence of that is the permanence of my curse.â
âI see, thatâsâŠâ He considers his next words carefully. "Unfortunate," he finishes. Her fate is sealed, then. He feels sorry for her, truly, despite his weak attempt in expressing it. Pondering on that thought brings the frog to a question.
âThen why did you agree to come to my aid in breaking mine?â
âPardon?" The swan raises her head to meet the frogâs inquisitive stare. âWell, I embarked on this journey with the idea that we are both after the same thing. But now, considering your circumstance, thatâs not the case anymore, is it? Surely you are after something," the frog answers.
The amphibian stands upright on his two feet, crossing his arms. âCome on now, you donât expect me to believe this is a noble act of charity. Perhaps youâre driven by merely the desire for adventure? Ah, maybe itâs a reward you are seeking. What is it? Name your price.â
âNot everyone helps those in need only because it benefits them in return. Unlike what you did with your prinâ"
âAnd once again, I onlyâ"
âMoving forward.â The swan cuts him off firmly before continuing in a much somber tone. âI am unable to break my own curse, the least I can do is help another avoid that fate.â Her voice is laced with suppressed heartbreak and brave determination.
She bends her long neck as she leans toward him. Now that their faces are at the same level, she is able to directly gaze at his wet, bulbous eyes. âI have lost all hope. Hopelessness leaves you broken, hollow, and empty. Then you gave me what I had lost.â Her eyes shine earnestly. âI may not have any hope left for myself, but I have hope for you, in you, that you would break free from your curse, whatever it may be. If you truly need me to ask for something in exchange for my help, then please, give me hope.â
