Atellus grinned. “Can’t really blame you. She’s awfully cute… And could probably use someone good to take care of her.” He shook his head and laughed. “Well, my Tribune would say that home is where I’m stationed, which happens to be here for now. But no, home is Cyrodil. Not used to so much cold or so many people from only one place.”

He beamed. Marni might not've been biologically his, but hearing anything nice about her still made him proud. "She 's, but don' let her fool you. Marni'll be cute 'n sweet most of th' time, but get her upset 'n she makes sure you know all about it."

As if on cue, Marni let out a long raspberry, finishing off her response by promptly sucking on her hand. "..'N 'm pretty sure she jus' told me off."

J'Ram nodded as Atellus brought up Cyrodiil, keeping to do his best to not show his dislike of the place. It was nothing against the country itself, but his last visit there had been a bit less than ideal. Too bad too, had it not been for their trip ending on the sourest of notes, he might've actually enjoyed himself out there. "Mm. Yeah, th' cold only gets worse as you get away from th' border. Riften's a lot warmer. More Argonians too."

Atellus smiled and gave the baby a small wave, then shook his head as he focused on J’Ram. “Oh, no, she’s fine. It’s nice to see someone in this city smiling for once.” He leaned against the stall counter and looked up at the Argonian. “So, do you live here? Nice to see someone who’s not a Nord for a change… Makes it feel a bit more like home.”

J'Ram laughed at the Atellus' comment. When wasn't Marni smiling? She might've been the first baby he'd ever really gotten to know, but damn if she wasn't a happy one. "No, we're from waay south. But since we found this one," a small bounce to draw attention to Marni, "here, we tend t' come back pretty often." It wouldn't do for Marni to not know where she came from, after all.

"I was gonna assume you were from here, but I guess not. Where's home for you?"

Atellus had been looking over one of the food stalls when he felt a tugging on his cloak. He looked over to see a tiny chubby-cheeked Redguard child pulling on the garment, and laughed a little at her.

"Hello," he said, turning to face her and her… guardian? He smiled even wider at the Argonian. It was nice to see someone not a Nord for once. It felt a bit more like Cyrodil this way. "This little one’s your charge, I take it?"

Marni grinned wide, showing off a happy mostly toothless mouth. Finally, someone to play with!

All her squirming eventually caught J'Ram's attention. "Hm––oh! Erm, yeah." Marni was quickly pulled up and readjusted, much to her disappointment. "..Sorry about her, she's kinda a handful. She didn' mess anythin' up, did she..?" He glanced the man over, and not seeing any signs of baby-mess, figured they were in the clear.

[Closed] A Spring Morning in Solitude

Solitude was busy today, as usual, with the markets full of people, the town crier shouting out the latest news, and soldiers moving through the streets. Atellus had a day of leave, and he intended to enjoy it as best as he could. Shirking armor for a simple tunic, he still had his Legionary cloak over one shoulder and the belt and sword of a soldier. He didn’t really expect a fight in the capital city, but it never hurt to stay armed. Taking the long way to the tavern, he found himself simply walking the streets and enjoying the relative warmth of the day.

Another crowded day in Solitude. It wasn't anything new, but it still made walking up and down the streets take a lot longer. Though because of how busy it was, J'Ram hardly paid the man next to them any mind, only glancing over long enough to gather that he was in the military, or at the very least was a supporter. Marni, on the other hand, was ecstatic.

That man had a blanket on his shoulders! A nice big one too! She squirmed in J'Ram's arms, babbling and waving a chubby arm for attention. Unfortunately, all it earned her were a few light bounces.

Well then. If her dad wasn't going to look at the blanket-wearing man, she'd just have to handle this one herself! Leaning towards him, she clumsily batted at his cloak, happily gurgling as she did.

"..Gods damn couriers take forever t' get here." Late letters were one thing, but this one was a year out of date! Still, he was pretty proud he could read the note. ..Most of the note. Erm, some of the note.

Alright, he could read bits, but he got the gist of it! And that's all that mattered. Laughing, he folded the paper up before walking back inside. "Hey Swings, you'll never guess what jus' got here!"

2: Kiss your eyelids.

As Picks walked around the market place of Riften she saw a young argonian feeding a group of stray dogs. At the compassion and kindness she walked over and squatted down next to her. With one quick movement she grabbed her head and kissed her eyelids. “Mara shin’ bright on ye love, many thanks from them tae ya” She said with a big smile. Picks always had a soft spot for stray dogs, and was happy to see that someone was taking care of the babies around Riften.

Picks looked to Dar with desperation and shock when she questioned the need to sneak into a house. Because first of all, this was very much the time! And second of all, its always a great time to break the law and steal things!

As she helped her up however she felt much better. She began to use Dar as a crutch as she began to hop over to the house. As they arrived to the house Picks was already winded and tired. Quickly she reached into her pocket and withdrew a little cloth. “Dar, I’m gonna teach ye’ probably th’ most important lesson ah’ could ever teach ye’ ‘bout bein’ ah’ thief” She explains.

Quickly she put the cloth to her elbow and a small piece of porceline to the middle. She took a deep breath before she jammed her elbow into the window and silently cracked it open. “Wait ‘ere” She instructed.

Hoisting herself up she jumped into the house and quickly examined the place. No fire in the fireplace, no footsteps, no sound of distant bread eating or coughing. She went back to the window and whispered to Dar “All clear!”

Dar did as she was told and stood around outside. If Picks' search for sewing supplies didn't pan out, she wondered if she could possibly solder the wound shut, or if electricity would do more damage than good. It was times like these that she wished she had a knack for flame spells instead.

When given the all clear, she hesitated and looked around before awkwardly fumbling her way in. Once in, she tip-toed around, far more careful about making noise than she probably needed to be. "Alright, if I kept sewing supplies around, where would I keep them.."

Picks let out a yelp of pain before she bit her lip trying to hush herself. She took a deep breath before she began to think what to do, what to do…Of course! What was she thinking? She’s a thief!

She examined the busy streets looking for a window she could climb through with her leg and not hurt herself even more. Across the way’s was a little home she broke into once with several bunny rabbits…Or was that the place next door? Wait, it was in Riften right? Well, it was a house. And the window didn’t look too bad.

"Dar, ah…Can ye help me up? Help me get tae house over th’r. Ah’ think ah can get some needle ahn’ thread" She asked beginning to feel very faint.
