One of the many issues in Media and Information Literacy is not using the different platforms properly just like in Social Media. Social Media is being utilized to spread news and information but not in spreading awareness. Many users of social media doesnāt spread awareness but rather they criticize what they see even though they donāt really know him/her. Body Shaming is an example. If someone have flaws in their bodies, many will criticize. If someone is fat or skinny, many will criticize. That's how toxic the users of social media can be.
Many people who are body shamed had experienced having insecurities, depression, anxiety, and worst is having suicidal thoughts just because of the judgement of other people for what is his/her appearance. We, as a user of social media, we should motivate other people not to drag them down.
Do you realize what is the impact of body shaming to the people you are telling? Or you just say it just because you have the perfect body? Where is the love for your fellow men or women? Is there a love in body shaming? Is that your way to motivate others? You can accept them for what they are, for what their body is. If they are fat, accept them. If they are thin, still accept them even they have flaws. Body types are not a basis to love other people; it doesnāt mean that if he/she is fat, they shouldnāt be loved. We all deserved to be loved and accepted.
Just a reminder that you are beautiful. You are one of Godās creation and we are all equal in his eyes. We are all beautiful despite of what our body is. Be confident, be who you are. āØ
