Flying home!
In plenty of time for Christmas. Can't imagine spending it without any family <3
I'm flying from Heathrow to Narita, and then after a 9-hour layover (!!!), from Narita to YVR! I'll see if I can make a day trip out to Tokyo during that time :) Pretty excited about that too - hope I won't be too tired after the first 11+ hour flight.

Last few days in London!
Think outside the box.
Did you know that during the "Space Race" between the US and USSR to put the first man on the moon, when they were trying to figure out how to help astronauts use a pen in space to make notes, the US spent tens of millions of dollars in developing a pen that could write upside down (because the ink doesn't "flow" to enable the pen to write), and the Soviets....
...gave their astronauts pencils.

It was my first time at the Royal Opera House (SUCH a beautiful building and auditorium) and I saw the first show of Parsifal at Royal Opera House! Can you tell I enjoyed it? :)
Coming home
So it looks like there's a high chance I'll be coming home early...
No November
The main reason why I didn't post at all during the entire month of November was because I had a booked a weekend trip every single weekend. You can probably imagine how crazy my month was, with group projects starting to get underway (the due dates for 'deliverables' were creeping up), a visiting friend from Hong Kong who was also staying with me, and an occasional flu thrown into the mix. I felt like I needed 48 hours in a day. Needtheless to say I was burnt out by the end of all the trips. When it was time for me to go to Barcelona, I barely felt like packing and going to the airport, dreading coming back to London with an even bigger pile of to-do's. Although traveling is an amazing learning experience every time, my courseload here was not cut out for non-stop weekend trips. It has been really nice to be staying in London for the past two weekends to catch up (aka work until 3 or 4am every "night") and explore even more parts of this city before I leave. That being said, I love London for all that it offers, but I really can't wait to be home. More on this later!

Happy Halloween!!
I miss so many things about Vancouver in the fall...I love it when the leaves change colour and just start to fall and make massive piles along residential streets back home. And Halloween spirit is so uplifting (is that ironic?); what I mean is you get to see all these people putting in so much effort to make their house scary and I'm just always so impressed! And of course, Vancouver being Vancouver we always find ways to raise money for charity for these days - I hate 'horror' stuff but I still love going to Dunbar Haunted House with friends every year. In the haunted/horror factor race though, London has to beat Vancouver on all counts. It's just so old here, and eerie in lotsssss of places, haha. Especially the London Underground. I hate it, I hate taking the tube. So look at this! I'm right to feel uneasy while I'm on it!!

The trees and more mountainous landscape reminded me of home! I don't see a lot of trees in London and especially do not notice any fall leaves-colour-changing business. Another thing that I really liked about Scotland were all the friendly people we met (the taxi drivers were all so much fun to talk to and had so much to say haha!) - something that is a little lacking in the hustle and bustle of London.
