Lizzy Frizzle: My main OC!
Age: she starts ARR at 17, and she’s currently older
Gender: Trans Woman (She/Her)
Orientation: Lesbian
General Info: Lizzy is an Au Ra Raen that was orphaned early in her childhood, she grew up with her adoptive parents in the black shroud and following their deaths from the 7th umbral calamity, she spends a couple months on her own, then she gets taken in by the Sylphs and they teach her many things, for better or worse. She also excels in academics, and managed to create her own faerie to heal with, though she is uneducated and has no formal training. After the fight against Bahamut, she gets tainted with phoenix aether, and begins studying black mage under Omikhle in Sharlayan.
Her Ancient is Iremia, a renowned Psychologist sporting powerful Emotion magic. Iremia desires to become Azem, but Emet-Selch shoots down the idea under the reasoning of "I don't want to lose the convocations best therapist" but Iremia knows the real reason is cause Emet views her as a little sister, and doesn't want her gallivanting off into dangerous places. At the end of shadowbringers, Lizzy discovers Iremia's apartment, and through mystical and magical means, gets to have a conversation with Iremia, this leads Iremia to bestowing Lizzy with her knowledge about Psychology, as well as her emotion magicks, though not as potent.
After Iremia bestows psychology knowledge on Lizzy, Lizzy starts working on setting up a psychology practice in Sharlayan. As part of establishing psychology as a science, Lizzy obtains her archon mark, it's located on her right ribs. While teaching psychology, she begins a relationship with Krile.
Canon Lizzy details:
- She has more scales than average au ra on her body
- She has a functional leylines tattoo on her back
- She has aether scarring branching from the leylines tattoo, primarily traveling up her back, over her shoulders, and down her arms to the tops of her hands
- She has an archon mark on her right side ribs
Lizzy’s children with parents:
[under construction]
Ship tags:
Lizzy/Bril – Brilizzy
Lizzy/Sadu – Explosive Duo
Lizzy/Shio – The idiots
Mono Rose: My secondary OC!
Age: she starts at 16 during the post-ARR stuff, she’s currently 25ish
Gender: Non-binary (She/They but don’t call her a girl)
Orientation: Pansexual
General Info: Mono Rose is a lalafell that lives with her family in the shroud. The oldest of 8 children, she strives to break out on her own and go on plenty of adventures. One day in the shroud they try taking on a boar, only to stumble and get saved by Lizzy. Lizzy then teaches them how to properly use the bow and arrows, and Mono starts training to become a Bard. Mono thus looks up to Lizzy as a role model and hero, however, Mono refuses to join Lizzy and the Scions because she just wants low stakes adventures, so she frequently adventures with Bril. They also spend a lot of time babysitting Lizzy’s children.
i think everyone who is worried about their skill doing content in ff14 should watch an ultimate world race. if you have ever felt like shit for not immediately understanding a mechanic you've never seen before, you will be Spiritually Healed watching the absolute best players in the world spend multiple hours and 20 pulls just to make it 25 milliseconds further into a fight. you will watch people just completely fuck mechanics that they have successfully done 30 pulls in a row for no other reason than they're tired and their brain shidded. no matter what your skill ceiling is, the trajectory of gaining competence follows pretty much the same arc. be soothed
sometimes when I need to just feel some big emotions in a healthy, manageable, and concise way, I go watch the Flames of Truth cinematic
which inevitably leads to me going "goddamnit I wish the Binding Coils of Bahamut were more accessible beyond just unsyncing it at a ridiculously high level because this is the final chapter of the Seventh Umbral Calamity"
*slams fists on table* RE-TUNE COILS FOR RAID ROULETTE IN EVERCOLD, YOSHI-P
this is the OG Alisaie growth arc, because I love my darling gremlin ready to fight lil' sister but she was just as spoiled and snobby and sure she knew better as Alphinaud when she first arrived in Eorzea, she just presented it differently
Coils is where Alisaie learns to stand on her own feet and not in her grandfather's shadow, to form her own opinions about the world and how to live in it and how to help others; if you don't do Coils before she returns to MSQ in Heavensward patches, the dichotomy between her more worldly confidence and her initial appearance back before level twenty is incredibly jarring
as far as I am concerned, Binding Coils is integral to MSQ, wrapping up major elements of 1.0, and SHOULD BE MANDATORY CONTENT GODS ALL DAMNIT
