First Born Part Six

Warnings: Grafic deaths
Word count: 1292
Orcs suddenly surrounded us with their weapons drawn. "#45?" Dwalin asked.
"Wouldn't have it any other way." I reply lunging at the orc's with my sword slitting their throats and sliding it through their nasty rib cages through the heart. I slowly make my way to the tree line and climb the tree nocking an arrow and letting it soar through the air right into the back of an orc's head and out the other side coming through his glazed eye. I shoot many more arrows until there is no one left standing on the slightly more clear path but Dwalin and now me as I jump down from my perch landing gracefully on the blood spattered ground.
Hearing the little pattering of feet, my ears perk up. "Fili??!?!?" The feet stop. All we could hear is small deep breaths trying to be unnoticed. Motioning for Dwalin to stay quite and keep going I spring up into a tree and survey the underbrush for the small boy. Dropping down silently I approach a small hunched being on the forrest floor. Getting closer I knew it was Fili. I grab him by the shoulders pulling him into a bone crushing hug to which he struggles then relaxes as he realizes its me.
"I'm sorry" He whimpers out as I loosen my grip. Looking at his face I see tears streaming down his cold, red cheeks.
"It's okay you just scared the living daylights out of the entire kingdom." I say giggling. I don't want him to blame himself because mom will be mad he left but she'll never yell she will just tell him that it wasn't his fault and to never do anything like this again. He will be punished for running away, but it won't be too harsh though harsh enough that he learns his lesson.
You see that's the thing with our mother. She will punish you for what you did wrong but it will be something that will make you learn from what you did wrong. I'm my opinion or well from experience really it's the best way to teach your kid a lesson without being harsh, yes sure they may have ran away for some silly reason but that's no excuse to punish them in a brutal fashion, they are in fact a child and the reason for their actions may not be all it seems. Listen to them instead of just punishing based on the actions.
"Let's go ho-" I start.
"No." Fili says like going home will be the end of him.
"What is wrong with going home?" I ask, keeping my voice in a calm, motherly tone as to not make it seem that I'm angry at him, which I'm not.
"Mommy is gonna disown me after this." He says starting to cry again.
"No Fili she won't. I promise. You will get a punishment but whatever it is won't be harsh or unfair. You will have until tomorrow morning because mom will wait so you can meet our little brother." I said try to reassure him. A smile spreads across his face. "There ya go, now can we go home?"
"Yes." He quietly whispers. Just after, I feel a arrow fly by my head and into the tree beside it. My eyes widen, there's more. Shit. I turn to Dwalin and stand hiding Fili behind me. Drawing my sword.
"M'Lady what on earth do you think you are doing?" Dwalin asks me.
"I thought that would be obvious I'm getting in a fighting stance so that we can kill those nasty creatures of hell." I said in a duh voice.
"No you need to get your brother back to Erebor it is not safe for you two I know you can fight but Fili hasn't been trained and, I'd hate to say it but will get in the way or killed. M'Lady go back to Erebor I will meet you there." Dwalin says but I don't care.
"I can hide him in the under brush or in a tree if I tell him to stay there and be quite he will." I bargain.
"No. I won't have it. Go." Just as he finished his sentence an orc's scout breaks through the tree line.
"I am not leaving you here alone to fight what could be one hundred orc's!" I say. He sighs.
"Just go."
I go up to him stand on my tippy toes and say "No"
"Dia I think he's right." Fili says quietly. "If anything happens to you he can't protect me when fighting off forty orc's, if your that worried take me back most of the way then I'll run the rest and you can come back." He suggests.
I am speechless so Dwalin speaks for me. "He has a valid point and it'll work if you carry him and run as fast as you can you'll be most of the way to Erebor in no time. Do as he suggested and we'll see what happens." He says sternly. Why does his voice have to be so god damn deep.
"Fine but if you get hurt I'm blaming myself." I sass.
"Wouldn't expect anything else." He says in truth. I then pick up my brother take one last look at Dwalin memorizing everything about him as I may never see him again. After what seems like an hour I turn and start to run as fast as I can back home, hearing the clash of metal behind me soon start to fade.
After a while I stop to catch my breath. Big mistake. A snap grabs my attention. It seemed to echo off of everything. Pulling Fili behind me I stand on guard sword at a ready. Minutes later the presence steps out of the forest. "Dia?!?!" It's Thorin oh thank Valar. "I see you found your brother." He says. Surprisingly his voice isn't angry he's calm. Somethings up.
"Okay what is it? What did I do now?" He looks at me puzzled.
"What? Never mind where is Dwalin he came down this way. Have you seen him?"
"Yes. He told me to run with Fili and get back to Erebor and then go back and help him." By the look on his face I could tell he wasn't going to let me go back.
"How far?" He asked sternly.
"20 leagues. No more no less. You'll find him easy enough." I answer. "How far are we from Erebor?"
"Far enough that Fili won't make it on his own go with him the whole way the lands aren't safe during the night especially for young children who can not fight." Nodding at our Uncle I swoop Fili up and dash home so I can get back to help my uncle and my one what no I mean Dwalin. Once we return the gates open almost immediately and doctors, my family and other members of the court rush to us. Getting up I turn and walk out only to be stopped by my great-grandfather.
"And where do you think you're going young lady?"
"Back to Thorin and Dwalin that need my help." I say and turn and run back to them as fast as I can.
