It’s a chance to see what I’ve been up to during my stay here in Shetland. Mixed media drawings and paintings from my wanderings around Scalloway, when the weather has let me! I’m looking forward to getting out west to find some more old crofts and stone walls this week.

Museum Arches

I’ve made 6 of these screenprints and framed up 3 so far. They’re all really different as the background collage is unique on each one. This one includes the old pages of an Edinburgh guide book. The text includes information on visiting the area near the Museum of Scotland - Greyfriars Bobby, Chambers Street and even describes some of the museums exhibits (’the Blue Whale...’) Can’t decide whether to enter this to the RSA Open or the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show for Summer 2017.

Museum Arches

This is one of a small series of screen prints (6 in total) that I’ve done of the beautiful old part of the Museum of Scotland. Each one is different as each print is done on a background of one off collage. I’ve really had fun making each one unique - same lines and marks, different background colours and shapes. This one is off to the Union Gallery’s ‘Draw’ show for May/June 2017.

From North Queensferry (Forth Rail Bridge)

A bit of a change for me - a structure other than an Edinburgh New Town building. This was prompted by someone requesting a commission of the Forth Rail Bridge, and I just enjoyed it so much I did some more. Surprised how much I loved working out the structure. More bridges please! 

Oh - and it it sold from the studio yesterday, just three days after arriving from the framer.
