another sneak peek
I'm sorry, I saw this and I had to LOL

this is how the movie went, right?

reino unido de portugal, brasil e algarves
beatriz/mayara (🇧🇷) and afonso (🇵🇹)👑
First of all. I am unhappy about Afonso's haircut. 🤦♀️ I tried to give him a more historically accurate hairstyle, but it ended up making him look weird.
Copy from my FB: I was imagining that Dom João VI kinda obligated Beatriz (Mayara) and Afonso to be painted together during the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarves.
As you can see, at the first moment, Mayara was still unused to the Portuguese Royal Court's presence. Sooner, she would start wearing more refined dresses and enjoy having attention. Dom João VI really liked her, and Mayara liked being liked by him xd (while Carlota Joaquina /Dom João VI's wife/ hated her and avoided her as much as she could).
Afonso despised the idea of spending his time in Brazil, it was humiliating. Actually, he would do anything to go back to Portugal to check on his orphan people. His country was vulnerable, living in a pure chaos and crisis because of Francis' Napoleonic invasions lol. He felt betrayed by his own king. Honestly, I don't even know if an Allegory can abandon its own people for so long. But since he had to obey his government...On the other hand, Mayara was starting to enjoy her new status as a part of the United Kingdom of Portugal. It felt nice to finally receive reforms (aka being pampered) lmfao.
I answered my friend Pepi which I share lore/worldbuilding with about two theories:
As everything indicates, there's a possibility that Mayara and Afonso lived together for a time. However... It was totally against Afonso's will, because a nation should not abandon its people! I have been reflecting more about this specific case, because I have another theory that Afonso was abandoned and left alone having to deal with the Napoleonic invasions because he represents the NATION itself xd so I'm still taking notes on which possibility is more plausible in this context.
What is the Medicine Seller?
The subjectivity of Mononoke is a large part of what makes the series unique. But, one of the biggest mysteries that the show leaves unanswered is what exactly the Medicine Seller is supposed to be. From his weird powers, traits, and appearance to the fact that he clearly doesn’t age, it’s an understatement to say that this isn’t a normal guy. All kinds of theories have been floating around about the Medicine Seller’s true identity, that he’s a onmyōji, a god, or some kind of benevolent mononoke.
However, for my money, looking at all the evidence combined from the show and Japanese mythology, I’ve concluded that the Medicine Seller is most likely a kitsune.
Now, I feel like most anime viewers have at least a cursory idea what a kitsune is, but just to recap: “Kitsune” (狐) is the Japanese word for fox. Traditional Japanese folk beliefs attributed all sorts of mysterious powers to foxes, including shapeshifting, creating illusions, and warding off evil spirits. Taking cues from ancient Chinese lore about fox spirits, kitsune have captured the imagination of Japanese artists and storytellers for centuries and continue to do so in the present day.
I’m far from the first person to come up with the “Medicine Seller is a fox” theory. It’s the only theory cited on the admittedly bare-bones Mononoke Wiki, and numerous commentators and Tropers have speculated that our favorite flamboyant exorcist might be a fox in disguise. So, allow me to take some time to display all the compiled evidence as to why I think this is the most plausible theory.
