another issue i take w the split attraction model is the way it defines different “kinds of attraction” like platonic/aesthetic/sensual/romantic, giving credence to the idea that “who you like to look at” is a part of your orientation that can be separated from your romantic or sexual leanings. that’s honestly a really shitty thing to introduce questioning girls who might think they’re lbpq to
we’re made to think finding the female form beautiful is “normal” and it can take us a long time to come to terms with our attraction to women and i don’t think the split attraction model does anything but force confused young girls to include attraction to men as a part of their orientation
as an adult lesbian the idea that i need to label or specify that Men Can Look Okay To Me in a way that suggests i experience a “certain type of attraction” to men is disingenuous and gross
@ trans girls who love girls
you are not creepy and you cannot be in any sense ‘the male gaze’ because you are not a man, you are so much more wonderful and caring and lovely than that and i love you and you are okay, i promise to you
In the Serpentine Passage looking through to the Altar Chamber in the Shell Grotto, Margate, Kent. The subterranean passageway was discovered in 1835, and is decorated in mosaics created entirely from seashells. The date of construction remains a mystery.

dear young lesbians, bi girls, queer girls, pan girls and otherwise women loving women: you are not inherently predatory by loving girls. you do not have the male gaze. it’s okay to look at a girl and want to hold her hand. it’s okay to day dream about girls. it’s okay. you’re okay.
