Whatever she had expected from the reading, this was not it. It was rather fascinating even to watch. A thought passed by her mind if it was usual, or if it was due to not having even known of these before. “Chang’e is the name.” Voice soft, she was rather entranced by the process.

…this woman was rather pretty and he was a bit of a useless flirt at times. 

Letting out a breath of relief, Chang’e relaxed immediately due to knowing she was not late yet; it would be a shame to be late from the summon. However upon hearing that there had been others that had not stayed made her question the hierarchy in the place. 

“How odd. Are you not expected to arrive when summoned?” As a new Servant the matter of most importance was to be respectful towards her Master. “I would gladly join you for tea in the meanwhile.”

Although having observed humanity for quite some while, she could not remember noticing the man, which made things only more curious. Naturally with the long time she had spent on the moon humans had always come and gone and there was nothing to really pique her interest. But to actually be able to talk with a war tattered hero, it was another thing completely. 

“Kingdom?” How curious. Although humans were interesting to watch, before learning the histories of other Servants she had not paid much attention to what they had been doing. “Were you a knight or perhaps a king then?”

“No. I am afraid I’m terribly bad at them actually.” Not that she had tried much even. There was no one to usually even use any games, other than tricking people.

hou yi (后羿 /ho ee/) was an excellent archer. chang’e (嫦娥 /chung-er/) was his wife. long, long ago, there were ten suns in the sky burning the earth and the people were suffering. one day, hou yi used his bow and arrows to shoot down nine suns, leaving one for light and warmth. the people of earth were saved. the queen mother of the west gave hou yi a bottle of elixir that could make him immortal, but the bottle was only for one person, and although hou yi did want to become immortal, he wanted to stay with his beloved chang’e. therefore, he didn’t drink the elixir and instead, asked chang’e to keep it safe for him. as hou yi became famous, people had asked for him to be their master, and hou yi accepted, but not every student of hou yi had good morality. feng meng, a student of hou yi, wanted the elixir. so when hou yi went hunting with his students, feng meng stayed behind and tried to force chang’e to give him the elixir. chang’e knew she couldn’t defeat feng meng, and she knew she couldn’t give him the bottle, so she drank the elixir and became immortal, flying higher and higher until she stopped on the moon. hou yi was devastated when he received the news, and when he went back home, he moved a table under the moon and displayed fruits and cakes that chang’e had liked, and gave sacrifices to her.

“Does it matter much?” While the end of this war would mean that she would be parted from the people she had come to spend time with lately, it would not mean much for the humankind. Always at war with each other, she hardly saw the point of it all. Even the one they were at would only be repeated once more on another time, with different people. The knight was only gullible if he would believe this to be the end.

“The humans seem to repeat these wars of theirs quite often with no regard to the outcome either way.”
