if i am honest, i am more likely to invest in the mad mew mew stocks for ch5 bc she hasn't reeally... had much in the way of motion in deltarune despite napstablook saying BOTH their cousins are relying on them. we only know she's into asgore, which makes me hope she'll be relevant by way of 'why write it if she's never going to pop up again?'
it's funny bc mettaton is my favourite thing ever on god's earth atm, but i have to say i think if he got very little content at this stage i'd be okay with it — i have always felt like the decision to give tenna to mettaton is a test to see if you can treat the characters as people the way susie is treating darkners like people as a lightner. you have to listen to tenna's wishes and give him up knowing you're not going to have access to him, because you earnestly want to make the fictional characters' lives better. you make a sacrifice to value tenna's autonomy and desires over your personal fulfillment as a gamer wanting to see everything you can see from him. so despite shit being about to hit the fan very soon, if i never got ANY mettaton and tenna content, i'd still feel confident i did the right thing and i feel like it'd serve the theme well. i accepted it was out of my hands and i let tenna go and i let mettaton have whatever journey he's going to have with tenna — no matter how involved i am in it.
that said.... i do just want more content of my fav so ofc i'm clamouring for big triple-t to come back to me... but i am okay if it doesn't happen because to me it's thematically strong in its own right. we'll see! i mean... i'll never stop believing because i think it's fun to dream and to speculate. but i'll also learn to accept it if this all stays within the realm of my imagination
