the chart is pretty evenly spread if we count unnamed appearances (seth & aqua have a 'plus one' for the orange & green break time, in which they only appear if you don't have starwalker)

i think with the weight of a full convo appearance vs an appearance in someone else's, i wouldn't be able to say any of them are especially underutilized (EXCEPT PINK!!!!!!!!!). still, it's hilarious that orange gets 10 breaks. even though aqua appears in 10 other breaks, it's usually a one-liner/fleeting. so things tend to even out, with blue and orange having more breaks but less appearances in other characters' breaks. i mostly just wanted to see how those additional appearances would add up. toby fox its not too late to give pink more [smiles]

i feel so embarrassed about the pace at which i draw because i draw a LOT esp with the amount of pain it causes me i'm like always drawing but i've been kind of a chronic doodler for my entire life and it is actually extreme, i just can't keep my hands still (which is why i've ended up in pain). drawing is like, the thing that keeps me from going crazy. so i usually am doing it. i don't know.. this compulsive need to draw all the time... does anyone else understand it?

If Deltarune eventually has a full dialogue regarding Ralsei's identity, and I really hope it does, the most hardcore way to do it would be Ralsei straight up asking you:

"Kris, what do you want me to be?"

And then the game gives you this

This choice would put every player on the same level. Whatever your idea has been so far, whatever outcome you wanted, none of that would matter at this point. Because you know there's only 1 correct answer.

You either allow Ralsei to have autonomy, or you don't.

Once you ask that question, whatever Ralsei picks truthfully doesn't really matter. All that's important is that they were honest with themself.

Even if you like the outcome, even if you don't. We don't choose who people are.

mettaton's realest flaw is that he sees his best friend is clearly depressed, actively suicidal, so far in a deep hole she can't get out of on her own, and he's still so upset with her anyways, he just avoids her like the plague. in such a way that you understand his avoidance and understand that he has a valid reason to be upset with her, but you also have an inkling that mettaton is really good at putting band-aids on bullet wounds, and really bad at actually working through his or other people's bad feelings. he'd like to be able to throw glitter on any problem and be done with it, which is also literally his solution in the king mettaton ending to societal collapse. if he can cheer you up and make you not think about the bad things, that's all he can do (he has this in common with tenna).

in a way i think this is a fun way to look at his relationship with blooky too. oh no.... and OH YESSS!!! are two sides of the coin. mettaton leaving without saying anything after promising to stay is part of a strategy to say whatever it takes to make people happy in the moment and then not be able to consistently handle the blue and grey days that come with loving someone. he's a little bit (understatement) avoidant which is how he treats himself too, he won't let himself sit with sadness either. just keep throwing glitter on it...!! and he really does love making people happy! but you can tell that his understanding of happiness is missing a healthy bit of complexity.

deltarune mettaton hasn't developed this complex yet and hasn't learned to shove all his sad and mad emotions in a little box under the bed, which we know because he's very obviously saying sad things to strangers. undertale mettaton wouldn't be caught dead with even a millimeter of that same vulnerability. maybe it's because napstablook is a load-bearing presence that keeps mettaton in touch with his melancholia... or maybe it's just that UT mettaton never wants to feel that miserable (as bad as DR mettaton feels) ever again and overcorrects for self-preservation

i do think its interesting when armours that can be equipped to ANYONE in the party still seem to obviously be more useful to specific people and useless for others.

the shadow mantle is clearly intended to be equipped to susie but nothing actually forces you to do that. most players do it because it makes the most sense for beating the knight fight, and then ralsei & noelle's equip lines subtly imply that you should give it to susie (especially noelle's, albeit we can't encounter it in-game yet).

the TennaTie is by its nature only a good idea to equip onto kris because it has a negative magic stat (which i think is actually fascinating from a story pov, that tenna's item is basically only a buff for kris, because of its debuff).

these two immediately come to mind, but i also think, like, dealmaker is best for ralsei, and little things like that, so you can always kind of try to puzzle out what the narrative purpose might be with some of the items stats... cool
