I cast my first spell a few days ago!
I created a little spell pouch to wear around my neck. I used:
Citrine — for abundance, prosperity, and joy
Rose quartz — for self-love and compassion for myself and others
Sunflower seeds — for joy, resilience, and optimism
Dandelion seeds — for hope, resilience, and tenacity
Duck feathers — for a strong work ethic
A slip of paper with an affirmation written on it
I charged the crystals, seeds, and feathers under the sun while I was at work. Then I added them, one by one, into my pouch—three each of the citrine stones, rose quartz, sunflower seeds, and duck feathers; and three pinches of the dandelion seeds—while speaking my intentions over them. Those intentions were for the items in my spell pouch to attract and amplify the qualities listed above—my personal correspondences with these items.
On the slip of paper, I wrote a simple affirmation: "I am sunshine in human form—vital and radiant." I then held the paper to my mouth and breathed my intention and self-belief into it, then folded it in three and slipped it inside the pouch.
I've been wearing the pouch around my neck every day for the past few days, and I've noticed that I've been experiencing more frequent upticks in my mood, independent of anything actually happening to make me feel happier. In the past, I've sometimes had minor "mood swings" that took me from feeling neutral or slightly unhappy to then feeling better and more optimistic without anything external to trigger that change—obviously, this is just how the human brain works, with its natural fluctuations in chemicals and neurotransmitters throughout the day—but it's definitely happening way more frequently now that I've started wearing my spell pouch. I've also noticed an increase in my compassion for other people, mostly while driving: Whereas before I'd get a minor, internalized sort of "road rage" and get very annoyed at other drivers for doing something that, to me, seemed illogical or unnecessary, now I'm automatically having more charitable thoughts about why those other drivers might be doing what they're doing. And while I'm open to the possibility that this is all a placebo effect, I don't necessarily see such an effect as being meaningfully different from what I would consider "magic."
Overall, a great success for my first spell so far! I'm a very skeptical and scientifically minded witch, so I'm quite excited that my first act of witchcraft has been giving me measurable results. Here's to many more successful spells in the future! ✨
