Star Trek TNG + Texts
I wish season 2 hawk wasn’t just mainly black lodge exposition because he’s such a fun guy
“Lets just say when something big goes down, I’m the man” *falls backwards through opening door*
seeing a lot of love for david lynch's commitment to casting beautiful women and not enough appreciation for this absolute smokeshow
my comfort character who is not even remotely comforting
two souls bound to meet at the same place
I HAVE NEVER MADE BROTHERS BEFORE, GOD EXPLAINS. THAT IS HOW I THOUGHT THEY WERE MADE.
Voyager is so funny sometimes
vastly overlooked moment in amok time: spock talking abt how vulcans go crazy during pon farr, saying that kirk will find it distasteful
and kirk responding ‘will i?’ in this shaky, almost giddy voice . weirdo freak is EXCITED abt that
The worst off screen atrocity in Lord of the Rings was the Uruk-hai destroying Rohan's supply of purple shampoo.
In What Are Little Girls Made Of when Android Kirk says really cockily that he’ll never have to starve to Jim UGHHHHHH THAT WASNT EVEN DELIBERATE BUT IT WAS SO IMPACTFUL
it's been years and it's still genuinely crazy to me that the first two seasons of stranger things had this throughline where all the bad things that were happening in hawkins were directly caused by the us government and that they were excusing the awful things they were doing to their own citizens (children!) through cold war/red scare reactionism. and then in season three there was a secret russian base under the town mall.
OMFG YES I've never seen anyone discussing this before but it is genuinely the thing that bothers me most about stranger things
The themes, plot, and just general vibes that were carefully created during seasons one and two were completely shattered by the following two seasons.
Seasons 1 & 2 felt contained, dare I say plausible and realistic! and still retained the feeling of a horror series.
Season three, while still certainly enjoyable from a viewing perspective, and is a definitely a very fun ride, breaks the stellar atmosphere created in earlier seasons. This atmosphere is unfortunately never really recovered in s4 which splits the show up into two separate eras and genres.
Also, just the change in filming techniques, lighting, mood etc is really stark. If anyone would like to do a deeper analysis on the stuff that changed between the seasons I would love that!
data and spot
i love them they’re so silly :3
I hate Wink of an Eye... Leave Jim alone 😡
On a side note Uhura saying 'he's gone' with so much worry and sadness (literally the episode after Plato's Stepchildren)
