Vulcan is a desert planet, especially the area Spock is from. Those dorks can handle HEAT what they can’t handle is humidity.

you know how for a lot of people being in heat makes them turn Evil(Tm)? Humidity does that to Vulcans. No one notices except for the Vulcans themselves but put these guys in a wet/damp (hot or cold) planet and they’re ten seconds away from breaking a table in half. They’re been talking about philosophy for an hour, no voices have been raised but phrases are getting shorter and shorter. Everyone around them is Worried.

I think Spock can adapt better to the humidity due to his human half but he’s still not used to it at all. Jim takes him to a hot water spring, and there’s a solid five minutes before they get into the water where Spock considers the pros and cons of breaking up with Jim Right Now just so he can return to the ship.

Many years ago, a co-worker had a Star Trek TOS calendar on her desk (how did I not have one!???). She would give me the pages with McCoy on them when the day ended. I had to nicely ask her to be easy on how she tore them out (she tore McCoy’s hair in the first picture—horrors!)
