Grew up in a small town in Newfoundland above an inn that his parents owned

Being around the musicians and live music at the inn inspired his decision to pursue a career in live music

After his dad passed when he was 20 years old, he got signed onto a label out in Vancouver where he lived for a few years

Has spent the last 8 or so years of his life writing albums and touring

Basically became a sellout and hated himself and his music so he retired from his music career a few weeks ago when he decided to settle back in Vancouver

He's been back in town for a few months now

He can be quiet with strangers but has that Newfie friendliness to him

Some basic connection ideas: Musician friends, old friends from time he spent living in and visiting Vancouver over the years, neighbours, staff at his tavern, friends or just people he’s met on the road (he’s been just about everywhere)

"I can make no such promises," she replied back with a smirk on her lips as she leaned into Lochlan. The arm he put around her and the way he situated himself close to her made her heart fluttered in the best of ways. So far he had been sticking around, which was promising but Angelia was still afraid to have hope, as they'd been through this a few times already. Even the purchase of his home in Vancouver hadn't been convincing. Time and dedication was the actual test. "If you want me to read to you all you have to do is ask." Angelia nudged him playfully with her shoulder. "We can watch the movie too if you want. I'm sure you'd loooove it. Lots of sex scenes," she teased. "For real, though. We should have a movie night soon. But I mean... get tickets and go out to the cinema. Get hugely overpriced popcorn and drinks and candy, and watch a film on the big screen. I miss doing that." With him in particular but also in general. It had been so long since she'd gone to see a movie. It was all too easy now to just hang out at home and stream something while lazying about in sweats. Angelia liked to get dressed up and make a night of things.

"As much as I don't wanna get murdered, I wouldn't want ya any other way." He loved that Angelina was and had always been fully authentic in who she was - she never put on a facade to impress anyone. When she leaned into him, he felt a warmth rise to his cheeks. There was no denying that the woman had always had an affect on him, whether he liked it or not. "Alright..." Shifting slightly in his seat, he turned into her. "Will ya read it to me? Back to front." He gave a gentle squeeze to her arm before pressing a kiss to her shoulder. "I've been waitin' for you to ask me to go...let's throw dinner in there and make a date of it? I used to go on my days off on tour and everyone always looked at me weirdly when I bought everything at concessions. I look a little less unhealthy when I buy it and you're with me. It's not the same without ya." Most things weren't.

Impulse buying an entire business instead of, say, a pair of shoes or a weird gift shop keychain was very much like 'building the car while you were driving it' but Beau was having a good time. It had been good to him, having to learn something new, mostly because it took his mind off his ever-present writer's block and lack of inspiration. Even as he was surrounded by the very thing he was struggling to create, the man allowed himself to be in awe of the many, many scores of words all around him, and of the all-important job of preserving them.

The tinkling of the door bell alerted him to a guest entering the store, his first all day, and his cerulean gaze traveled in the direction of the sound, almost immediately launching into the most recent tidbit that had come to mind. "Did you know that you don't actually need gloves to handle, like, older books? I always thought you did, but the Library of Congress says it isn't necessary, and I feel like they'd definitely be experts, you know?"

As was typical, it had taken Beau's brain a few seconds to catch up with his mouth, and it was then that he actually entertained the idea that whoever had taken the time to come into the store this early, likely wasn't here for a random fast fact — but they were a person on a mission. "Sorry for rambling, that is a thing I do sometimes. What brings you in?"

Being back home and not on tour reintroduced the idea of free time back into Lochlan's daily life. He had been touring on and off since he was 20, which made being back home feel strange. Strange, but an opportunity to take the time he had always wanted to do nothing. This morning, that consisted of a visit to Cobblestones before he opened up the recording studio in the afternoon. Lochlan stopped in place as soon as he entered the shop, as though this would allow him to absorb what Beau was saying. "I feel like I learn more comin' in here than I did in all of high school." He appreciated Beau's passion for books and his craft.

"But it's real fuckin' early and I dunno if I'm gonna remember that in an hour. Interesting, though. I finished that last book ya suggested...was thinkin' ya could suggest another? Or do I have to wine and dine ya first?"

"You might want to grab another drink for this," Angelia began, glancing at the person she was sitting with. The look she wore on her face was one that said she had something interesting to share. Which, clearly, was one that she couldn't keep to herself. "This new book I'm doing the audio for," she went on without really giving them much time to prepare, "is basically a how-to for murder and getting away with it. I'm not just talking in a way that's so well written that you're taken up in the prodecural of it all, I mean that I actually feel a little awkward reading it. Saying the things allowed." The book read as something that had actually happened and the writer had gotten away with it. Angelia would swear this book was evidence in some way. "Did you ever see that infamous movie with Sharon Stone? You know, the one where she uncrosses her legs and shows her vag? Basic Instinct—" Her head was nodding, as if she were silently saying 'bingo!'.

"Ya don't have to tell me twice." Lochlan moved to grab another beer before returning to the empty booth they had taken over. Even though there had only been a few of them since he had opened the place, he always appreciated their alone time at the tavern before he opened for the night. Settling into the booth beside her, he couldn't help but smile as she spoke about her upcoming project. His attention was primarily focused on the way she lit up when she spoke about it, her actual words taking a few moments to set in. "I haven't seen it, but I guess we're gonna need to have a movie night soon...or you can just do a practice read through for me." Brow raised, he slipped his arm around Angelia and shifted closer to her. "Promise me you're never gonna use that info against me if I leave the toilet seat up or forget to clean my dishes, alright?"

Looking down at the money in Hadley couldn’t help but want to stuff it in her pocket and continue on. But if she did the woman knew that karma would come back around. It always did eventually, at least it did for her. Tapping the person on the shoulder, she out stretched the wad of cash. “Here, I think you dropped this.”

"Oh, shit...that's a lot of cash...but it's not mine. Nice of ya to stop and ask, though." Looking around them, Lochlan couldn't see anyone close by that seemed to be looking for anything. "Looks like it's all yours. What are ya gonna spend it on? A yacht?"
