jade was in no rush, she knew when to take a break from the lab or she’d just get frustrated and not get anywhere on her projects. when she turned the corner and saw the mess, she glanced at the person responsible before bending down to help. “would you like some help?”
maria looked up at the other and gave her a smile. “honestly, that would be really great.” she was a bit frazzled and she was sure that she looked it too. “thank you so much.” she said still fumbling with her papers trying to get them back in some type of order.
maria was not having the best day, she’d been late to both of her meetings that morning and now as she was rushing back to her room in order to get herself ready for the evening she managed to trip and drop all the files in her arms onto the floor. “shit...” she muttered under her breath bending down to pick them up, unaware that someone had turned the corner only to witness the mess.

maria grew up in a mutated household. her entire family had various mutations all except for her brother
the first thing maria ever experienced was empathy, which was rather easy to hide so she did her best to be a normal person
her life was pretty uneventuful until she was 18 when she ran off with someone she just met and got married
darren locke was supposed to be her soulmate, when in reality he was a drifter who upon finding out what maria was he ran off
she was divorced by 20 and for three years she wandered, never settling anywhere for too long, she was just trying to figure out who she was and what her powers were
at 23 she found the foundation, luckily over her travels she’d racked up some skills and even went to school for teaching so it wasn’t too hard to get a job with them
she’s been there ever since and has been enjoying her time just fine
has a 3 year old daughter named audrey with seth who she met at the foundation
her nickname is locke because of her ex husband who even though he messed her up, she wouldn’t have found the foundation without him
