Movie: Yi Yi (directed by Edward Yang) makes me melancholy and nostalgic for a life I've never lived

Show: Taskmaster and M*A*S*H :')

Book: I don't think I have a comfort book, in the sense that it's something I return to over and over again. but I love books about families that lets me weep through catharsis, so for that reason I've loved "A Place for Us" by Fatima Farheen Mirza and "Salt Houses" by Hala Alyan

I was a loud and proud dolphin girl who almost grew up to be a marine biologist 🥲 i love cetaceans so dearly and every time i see one i lose my breath. i saw humpback whales for the first time in 2025 and i still tear up thinking about it

If you work, what is your profession and how do you like it:

urban planning - essentially the logistics of running a city, regulating development, and (trying) to shape the future of the urban (and social!) environment. which means i end up talking a lot about public transit, housing, community development, and municipal politics. it is a field with much ascribed to it, and shockingly little influence or might in the US to proactively do good

I'm a monster who loves unscented products. one, so that I can reduce the amount of sensory noise in my life and, two, so then I can use the perfume I want without any other scents interfering

doors closed, blackout curtains. to simulate the primordial, deepsea soup from which our first cells were birthed

hot tea if it's tea worth having on its own right. otherwise I will have iced matcha lattes, milk teas, and other beloved abominations

nope! that wouldn't be very bpd of me to have a consistent identity and sense of self

Huge shout out to all the people who read fics. Who actually take the time out of their busy days to open a fic and read it

Before I started writing in earnest, I did not understand how much writing was going to eat into my fic reading time. We joke about having too many tabs open, but I have a different problem: the amount of tabs I have open on new fics is way smaller than it used to be. My ao3 wrapped would be a sad affair. Unless I’ve subscribed to an author or come across something on my dash, I basically don’t see it

Which has really driven home for me how much fandom cannot just be creators. You have to have people who want to read fic and meta discussions and joke posts. You have to have people who want to look at art and gifs. It has to be mutual.

Community thrives on flow. You have to have that movement of people sharing things with each other for a community to exist
