yessssss. a lot we could say about this - speaks to him being wary of change, shy at heart so the prospect of a new group of people is anxiety-inducing, comfort in the friendships he already has/not wanting to leave that behind for something new. rpfing out as always but i personally think the fear of the unknown here is what prob led to the tears moreso than sentimentality at leaving his friends, though im sure that was present too. if you think about this in the context of him leaving bc and heading to san jose it makes a lot of sense that he got soooooo close with mack so quickly
