Logan hadn’t come across Abigail since their encounter in the gym before Christmas had even rolled around. At the time he’d found her to be completely compelling, but his pre booked ticket back to London for the holidays didn’t give him much of an opportunity to find out more about the blonde. That was until now. He’d arrived back in Denver on New Years Eve, and after a few days settling in he’d finally decided to learn more about her. Luckily for the tattooed boy, she lived in the apartment just across for him. Without hesitation he made his way across the short distance that separated them and knocked firmly on the door, sliding his hands into his pockets as he waited.

“Yeah, I worked on New Years, shocking I know.” she laughed, a tired edge to her voice. Maybe that was because Casey hadn’t had a good nights sleep in years, who knows. “Well, if I’m going to have a sad New Year I might as well make it productive too, no?” Casey shrugged, a smile gracing her own face when she saw hi. “I’m happy to see where the wind takes us I guess. Why, you have some fun idea?”

It was obvious Logan considered her New Years Eve events to be a less than exciting, but her attitude towards her New Years Day was definitely an opinion he could approve of. “I guess I can’t frown on a productive night, but now we’re just going to have to make your first day of 2017 productive in other ways.” He told her with a grin, gesturing towards the now open elevator doors so she could walk out before him. “Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but never got around to? I mean I know Denver doesn’t exactly have too many adrenaline spots but I have to ask.”

“You know what’s really sad?” Michaela asked before taking a sip of her drink. “I’m nearly twenty eight and have never had a New Years kiss. I take that back, I think my grandma gave me one when I was like five.” The blonde laughed as she rambled on. She was a little tipsy but she knew what she was saying. “Everyone always says it’s a big deal, but I wouldn’t know.”

Logan hazel orbs flickered over to focus on the girl as she spoke, smiling to himself as he heard her admit that to him. He wasn’t the judging sort, but he was the fixing kind of person at the best of times. “Well maybe this year will be your lucky year, I’m sure plenty of people have thought about kissing you on New Years Eve.” He told her with a shrug of his shoulders, “Otherwise you just need to surprise someone, it’s basically the one time of year where people don’t mind being kissed by a stranger.”

“No I didn’t do anything, I just stayed in and worked.” Casey replied to the other in the lift, taking a sip of her coffee from her flask, closing her eyes to relish it. She’d been up until four am and now it was only eight now. She’d decided to go into the office since it would be quiet, but maybe it would be better to take this chance for a day off. “Look…I was going to go into the office but actually…I’d really rather not. You want to do something?”

“You worked on New Years? I guess everyone has their own form of celebration in some way, but that’s a little disappointing, you could’ve at least spent the night watching movies.” The tattooed boy teased as he slid his hands into his pockets, glancing over at her with a pleased grin once he’d listed to her suggestion. “Sure, why not. Do you have something in mind, or are you going to see where the wind takes us.” Logan questioned, a hint of amusement in his tone.”

Abigail have happy to see a punching bag hanging up in the building gym. She brought down her bluetooth speaker and had some music blaring as she kept punching the bag, with a jab or hook, not noticing someone coming inside. 

Often Logan found himself with pent up frustration from his days events, or from the build up of past days events, and in that scenario he found the most ideal way to release that was through physical exertion of some description. On this day he made his way down to the gym to do just that, water bottle in hand and a towel flung over his shoulder as he stepped into the room. Immediately his attention was caught by the blonde who clearly had been in front of a punching bag before, each hit echoing against the leather and through the gym. “What did that thing ever do to you.” He questioned lowly while wandering towards the treadmill with a laugh.

“It’s already forgotten, mate.” He said through a soft laugh. “But of course, no need to thank me. It’s a good thing to know that there’s at least two people wondering around this mall that have the decency to be generous to those around them. Not only is this last minute Christmas shopping a pain in the ass, but it’s just even more discouraging when all the stores have nothing to offer. I suppose that’s what I deserve for waiting until the last minute.” He shrugged, offering the man a small smile before he chuckled at the man’s assumption. “I’ve learned my lesson to not offer a pint to those I come across. You would be surprised how many folks found that strange and rather uncomfortable. More beer for me, though, so I can’t complain. It’s not too much of a stereotype, mate. I’m quite used to it and it only makes me laugh whenever it’s mentioned. Although, we can go grab a pint or two to ease the ache of this shopping. I’m Davin by the way.” 

Logan couldn’t help but relate to everything this stranger was saying to him, it was as if his own thoughts were being echoed back to him along with the stressful stories of last minute shopping. “Tell me about it, I think I’ve walked through countless stores hoping some kind of inspiration for gifts would jump out an attack me, but for me moment I’d be lucky if they even whispered at me let along attacked me.” He sighed with a shake of his head, laughing at the ridiculousness of both their situations. Soon after an expression of bewilderment washed over his features, not believing what he was hearing. “Why would they think that’s strange and uncomfortable? A drink and conversation is never a terrible offer, the world is terrified of everything these days though. A pint might be necessary after the disasters of todays shopping attempt, it’s nice to meet you though, I’m Logan.”

“Oh, it wasn’t.” Claire let out a sigh as she saw the journalist, her immediate reaction to be to ignore him, however he didn’t seem to be anything but friendly right now. At his comment Claire just shook her head before laughing. “That sounds good, but unless they’re wheat I can’t have them. However there’s no harm in coming to search with you.”

Logan’s expression pulled into one of both confusion and hesitation, tilting his head slightly with narrowed eyes as if he was trying to get his question answered before even asking it. “Why do you have to have wheat pancakes? They can’t be as delicious as normal pancakes, can they? Are you allergic?” He questioned while taking another step towards her, letting out a sound of satisfaction before grinning. “That’s the spirit, let’s go hunt for these so called wheat pancakes you speak of.”

Ethan was trying to get some last minute shopping done. He had a couple bags ladden with a few things for Christmas. The mall was crowded and Ethan was trying his best to get everything as quickly as possible so he could get back home. Brushing shoulders with strangers, Ethan went wide eyed as he watched the guy’s bags drop the ground. “Shit, I’m sorry!” Ethan exclaimed as the man was fetching up his bags. “I know what you mean. I’m already regretting waiting so long.”

It was a quiet relief to see someone in a fairly similar situation to himself, it reassured him that he wasn’t drowning in this metaphorical boat on his own. “It’s fine, mate. At least you’re apologising unlike that other person I had a confrontation with. Let’s just say it’s good that I have excellent reflexes.” Logan explained with a low laugh. “I’m never leaving my shopping this late again, that’s for sure.”

“That is why I always use an Uber and because I don’t have my license,” Zara laughed. “You need help shopping, babe? Help you get in and out faster? I’m a personal shopper so I can get you out within the hour.”

“In this scenario I can understand why you’ve used and Uber, and I might have to steal that idea in future plans, but what about when you want to go on a decent, adventurous drive? What do you do then?” Logan challenged playfully with a raise of his eyebrows, a hint of a grin pulling at the edges of his lips. “You’re a personal shopper? Is it going to cost me if I say yes to that offer? I mean I could really use the help so I don’t mind.”

“Well maybe not there, you have to buy me dinner first at least.”  She winked playfully at the stranger, “We should also be on first name basis at least. Alana Morris, and you are?” Once the waiter returned, she poured both of them a mug of coffee and slid his mug toward him. She watched curiously to see if he was a cream or sugar kind of guy. “The bed would be disappointed? Are you sure it wasn’t someone who kept you in this late?” 

“That seems like a fair request.” Logan chuckled in response, reaching for some sugar but preferring to keep his coffee creamer free on this occasion. His dark orbs flickered up to focus on the red head with a hint of a smile, nodding his head in agreement at her suggestion. “I’m Logan Hakim, your company is appreciated Alana. Thanks for the hospitality.” His voice was as smooth as usual, that typical glint of charm in his gaze that was there even at times when it was unintentional. “Today it was nothing but the pure comfort of my mattress that kept me in this late, unfortunately I only had the pleasure of my own company. So not to be cliche, but do you come here often?”

Sofia had made her way to the mall on her day off under the pretense of Christmas shopping, but in reality, the day had turned out to be more of a personal shopping trip. She was lugging an armload of stuff and texting when someone bumped into her. The impact caused her to drop her bags which tumbled to the ground among his things and, she turned to face the guy. “You’d probably get fewer glares if you didn’t bump into people,” she said flatly, even though it probably was equally as much her fault. 

The tattooed boy had to do his best not to roll his eyes at the woman before him, apparently she was just like every other grumpy soul that surrounded him in this god forsaken shopping mall. “Well maybe people wouldn’t have to glare so much if they weren’t blaming everything on the other person, instead of taking responsibility for their complete oblivion to the world around them.” Logan told her in return, shrugging his shoulders lazily. “Just a thought.”

Simone wasn’t the biggest fan of being in the mall so close to Christmas, but she told her mother she’d pick up the dress she ordered and had sent to the store. She had already collected the garment bag and was trying to hurry her way out of he establishment when she bumped into someone. She felt immediately bad when she saw he dropped his bags. “Oh my God! I’m so sorry.” She winced, trying to help him with his bags. “To be honest, I don’t think I’ve heard anyone speaking about the joys of last minute Christmas shopping except for probably advertisements. They’re all lies, fairytales, and fallacies anyway.”

Logan chuckled at her response, nodding his head in agreement at the words while he collected the bags that had fallen from his grasp. “Lies, fairytales, and fallacies sounds about right.” He commented, turning his gaze to the woman before him with an amused look. “You don’t have to apologise, it’s fine. I can understand why you’d be rushing to get out of here. No need to dwell in the torture chamber that is this place.” His eyes flickered over the countless number of people that were working their way around them, a hunger and focus in their eyes that only appeared at this time of year. “Luckily I’m out of here now as well, I can’t handle this for much longer. They’ll probably force me to be a Christmas Elf if I spend another minute in here.”

As per usual, Davin waited until the very last minute to get the majority of his Christmas shopping. It was about a week before Christmas, so it was a bit of an understatement for his current shopping to be considered “last minute” seeing as he usually waited until about two or three days before Christmas to get his shopping done. Every year he promised himself he would get his shopping and wrapping done early so he wouldn’t have to worry, and every year he continued to break that promise. However, he was proud of himself for going a few days earlier than normal, so he liked to consider this early for himself. So with his bags in tow, he treated himself to something from Starbucks other than just a coffee. Every Christmas shopping trip that Davin went on someone either bumped into him and knocked his things over, or vice versa. With his eyes focused on the coffee in his hands, Davin managed to perform the latter; he accidentally shoulder checked a stranger a bit too hard, causing them to knock their bags onto the floor.

“Oh, shit, whoa,” He exclaimed, kneeling down to try and grab the bag before the male, but failing. “You alright, mate? I’m so, so sorry about that. It’s absolutely insane ‘round here and it’s so hard to not bump into someone. Don’t even get me started on the parking lot situation. I truly believe that’s worse than the actual last minute shopping and all the cranky customers. Is there somethin’ I can do for you? I feel so terrible for running into you.”

The tattooed boy was surprised at how apologetic the other man seemed to be, especially considering the reactions he’d received from majority of the other shoppers who’d done far worse than just bumping into him on the way past. “I’m alright, don’t worry about it. It’s madness in here so we can just forget about the dramatic part of this encounter.” He reassured, chuckling lowly at the other’s failed attempts at helping him collect his bags once more. “Stopping and helping me was more than enough, but thanks anyway, mate. I appreciate it. I’m half surprised you haven’t offered me a pint though, most other Irishmen I’ve encountered in my time have headed in that direction.” Logan teased, straightening himself out and standing up once more. “Is that too much of a stereotype?”

Harper wasn’t much for malls herself, in fact she wasn’t much of a shopper in general. Sure, she would go with her friend Zara, but that was because Zara liked to shop - Not because she did. Harper just didn’t mind biting the bullet every now and again and doing something she wasn’t about. Today however; she was on her own looking for last minute gifts. She wanted to get something for Ryan and some of her friends. She was never a very jolly person when it came to the holidays, but she didn’t hate them, and she actually wanted to get those she cared for something - So she was trapped with the fate of going to the mall a week before Christmas. As she walked, trying her best not to bump into people, yet still colliding with another, a long sigh escaped her. She turned back at the guy she’d bumped into (although if asked, she would blame him for that). “Yeah, it’s just great, init. I fuckin’ love the mall.” The Londoner grumbled sarcastically. 

Logan almost immediately picked up on her accent, and couldn’t help but grin in response at the familiarity of it, it was like being back home wandering Bond Street at Christmas time. “Isn’t it wonderful.” He murmured in sarcastic agreement, finally collecting his bags back into his firm grasp and allowing his hazel gaze to settle on the brunette who was just as keen on the shopping as he was. “So are you like me and just unorganised when it comes to buying presents, and if so can you tell me what a seventeen year old british girl, who has everything by the way, would want for Christmas.” The tattooed man questioned, completely ignoring the fact they had just bumped into one another and instead just conversing as if it was normal.

Occasionally Alana would look up to see how busy the diner was getting. In the most recent time, she saw that someone was walking toward her table. Her eyes immediately averted to her table but she could feel his eyes on her. She couldn’t help but smile at his compliment. “Flattery will get you everywhere and today it gets you a seat. Although I will say that coming here before 10 will earn you a whole table to yourself.” 

A pleased grin washed over his features when she replied to him, Logan knew that his words could end up going either way when it came to these interactions, so he was pleased when she sent a smile towards him. “It’ll get me everywhere? Well I might be coming out of this meal with more than just my need for bacon satisfied.” The tattooed boy teased in return, quickly asking a waiter if he could have some coffee for the table. “Where’s the fun in before 10 though? My bed would be far too disappointed in me if I left anytime before then.”

Logan was born and raised in London, England, which is more than evident in the accent of his smooth voice and in the way he still complains about having to remind himself that the left side of the road is no longer the correct side every time he returns to the States. In childhood his rebellious streak and charming manner of speaking constantly defined the dark haired boy, his enticing grin managing to both fool and frustrate the people that he encountered along each step of his timeline. He attended a variety of boarding schools, managing to get himself kicked out of almost all of them until he finally ended up settling on one where he finally decided finishing his high school education was probably a wise decision. Unsurprisingly he finished with exceptional grades, his turbulent manner not hindering his mental capability in the slightest, and not long after he was accepted into Yale where he studied journalism with an eager focus. That eager focus of course included being involved in the more exciting and exclusive of their clubs, secret in fact, and spending each night drinking into oblivion and charming every person around him as long as they were interested in the same ways of life as he was.

Normally Logan wasn’t the type of man you’d find wandering shopping malls, but on this occasion his plans for the day had led him to Cherry Creek. As expected this close to Christmas - it was packed. The constant hustle and bustle of the people around him was beginning to take it’s toll, and when he brushed shoulders with another person (causing him to drop his bags), he let out an audible sigh before turning to pick it up, speaking half to the person he’d collided with and half to himself. “I’m still yet to find the joy of this last minute Christmas shopping everyone talks about, all I’ve got so far is countless glares and a near accident in the parking lot.”
