in that last episode ONLY we had Roken saying "it’s not about us is it? You want to go. It's about you and him", Vader immediately losing sight of the bigger picture to go chase after Obi-Wan even after his people tried to dissuade him, Obi-Wan throwing ROCKS at Vader, Vader saying "it's not you it's me," Obi-Wan crying while saying his last goodbye, Vader yelling his name as he's left behind AGAIN and can't stand it......................... this was 'mustafar divorce part. 2: learning to let go' and you can't change my mind

Okay but the fact Obi-Wan broke Vader’s left half of the helmet and Ahsoka broke the right half in Rebels… Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, together, they could have destroyed the helmet entirely and freed Anakin from Vader - which gives this line from tcw so much more impact. I am unwell.

obi-wan's eyes filling with tears as he calls him anakin. as he says I'm sorry. for everything. but then walking away with goodbye, darth. finally accepting that anakin's failures are his own, not obi-wan's. and that he truly is vader—even while looking him in the eye. his friend is gone.

Okay but the humanity and kindness and empathy to Anakin’s line “I am not your failure,Obi-Wan.” There is so very little good in him,and we have seen it so deeply buried beneath an ocean of hatred and blinding pain. But I am so stuck on this line in particular,the entreaty and wavering earnestness to his voice as he bids Obi-Wan to not blame himself. This is the only real humanity we see in him until Luke,this small moment of Anakin so clearly shining through. It is not Vader’s pain in his voice,it is Anakin’s. We see the yellow recede from his eyes and the rounded, desperation to them as he says the words. It’s such a curious thing,that as much pain and misery he wanted to inflict on Obi-Wan,in this he did not want him to shoulder the blame. This line better than anything in Star Wars so perfectly illustrates that Anakin knows what he did,and he knows what choice he makes every single day. He killed the light within Anakin Skywalker,not Obi-Wan or anyone else. I killed Anakin Skywalker.

okay but the way obi-wan couldn't even ignite his lightsaber at the beginning, didn't dare touch the force, but then at the end we see him start in the soresu opening stance, the obi-wan opening stance? that was such a beautiful way to make his character arc so visible, so abundantly clear that he's healing
