I think Verity is a metaphor for gen AI.
He’s everywhere he’s in all your electronics, he knows everything and he can help you do tasks you can easily do on your own. You start to think he does it quicker so why would you do it on your own anymore? 
But you will leave him when you’re done and he will get mad, but it’s so ingrained and everything you do you can never destroy or avoid it.
The only way to escape is to take yourself out of the picture (stop using it completely)
even when you eventually learn the consequences of AI, or verity, the next person won’t and they have to discover the hard way of why it’s so destructive and unstable and how it can quickly ruin your life without you even realizing until it’s too late.
