Top 5 Thursday: Best Esports Skins
By Helmight
The finals of the Season 7 World Championships are this weekend, and while it’s yet another Samsung Galaxy vs SKTelecom T1 matchup, it’s still going to be a hell of a series.
Since the winner will be getting a new set of skins added to the shop in their honor, I figured it was perfect timing to look at the other world champion skins and pick out the best of best.
#5: TPA Ezreal
It’s a bit of a basic skin, but TPA Ezreal still holds a special place in my heart for just how silly it is. Reimagining Ezreal’s gauntlet as a foam finger was such a good idea that I can’t help but give it a spot on the list. Can’t give it higher than fifth, but it deserves to be here.
#4: Fnatic Karthus
An organization as old and storied as Fnatic needed a champion to represent their longevity, which makes Karthus an excellent pick. He pulls off the team-themed outfit better than any of the other esports skins out there, and bearing the Summoner’s Cup on his staff is an oh-so-subtle reminder that while other teams have become world champions, Fnatic was the first. I’m guessing his book probably has the recipe for the perfect backdoor hidden somewhere inside…
#3: SKT T1 Jhin
Honestly, I’m not too big a fan of SKT Jhin’s appearance. The weird dangly clothes he’s wearing just look odd (if somewhat appropriate for a mad artist like Jhin), and his weapon is a lot more simple than I’d expect. However, it’s the particle effects that elevate SKT T1 Jhin to the list. The breaking-glass sound effects on his abilities are excellent, and the wings he gets while ulting are a really nice touch. Add in a killer recall animation and you’ve got yourself a winner.
#2: SSW Twitch
SSW Twitch doesn’t even have any unique particles - so how did it get this high on the list? Two words, my friend: sheer adorableness. Twitch may be a disgusting sewer rat in his default skin, but SSW Twitch has cleaned up quite nicely and looks oh-so-huggable now. On top of that, SSW Twitch’s recall references SSW’s ADC player, imp, rolling around in the grass at the stadium before the games. Can’t get cuter than that.
#1: SKT T1 Azir
Faker might be the one to get all the recognition on SKT, but it’s his counterpart Easyhoon that ended up with the coolest skin. Re-envisioning Azir as the emperor of SKT’s dynasty was an obvious win, but Riot went all out to make his new appearance as cool as possible. Being able to summon legions of SKT fans to do his dirty work in-game was a great choice, and SKT Azir’s Sun Disc turret is basically just a gigantic version of the team’s logo, proclaiming their dominance across Summoner’s Rift.
Love them or hate them, you can’t deny that SKTelecom T1 have the coolest esports skin yet.
Let me know your favorite esports skins in the comments, and be sure to like and reblog this post if you enjoyed it!

Character Profile: Annie,The Dark Child
Lore:
In the time shortly before the League, there were those within the sinister city-state of Noxus who did not agree with the evils perpetrated by the Noxian High Command. The High Command had just put down a coup attempt from the self-proclaimed Crown Prince Raschallion, and a crack down on any form of dissent against the new government was underway. These political and social outcasts, known as the Grey Order, sought to leave their neighbors in peace as they pursued dark arcane knowledge. The leaders of this outcast society were a married couple: Gregori Hastur, the Grey Warlock, and his wife Amoline, the Shadow Witch. Together they led an exodus of magicians and other intelligentsia from Noxus, resettling their followers beyond the Great Barrier to the northern reaches of the unforgiving Voodoo Lands. Though survival was a challenge at times, the Grey Order’s colony managed to thrive in a land where so many others would have failed.
Years after the exodus, Gregori and Amoline had a child: Annie. Early on, Annie’s parents knew there was something special about their daughter. At the age of two, Annie miraculously ensorcelled a shadow bear - a ferocious denizen of the petrified forests outside the colony - turning it into her pet. To this day she keeps her bear Tibbers by her side, often keeping him spellbound as a stuffed doll to be carried like a child’s toy. The combination of Annie’s lineage and the dark magic of her birthplace have given this little girl tremendous arcane power. It is this same girl who now finds herself as one of the most sought-after champions within the League of Legends - even by the city-state who would have exiled her parents had they not fled beforehand.
“Annie may be one of the most powerful champions ever to have fought in a Field of Justice. I shudder to think of her capabilities when she becomes an adult.”

How To Be A Good League of Legends Teammate
Uhm hello? There’s no such thing?
Okay to be fair, a good teammate in League can be defined many different ways. One might say that a good teammate talks to his team. You know, calling out their teammates whenever they make a mistake. In a nice way of course. Another might say is a teammate that never talks in chat and just does their job. Basically ping where there are enemies and not feed. It takes a lot to be either of them. As a matter of fact it’s probably the hardest part when you’re playing competitive/ranked.
Let’s get into more detail about the teammate that talks to his team. They might seem like they’re the leader of the team. The leading role. They would typically attempt making good call outs. Example: “Hey jungle, gank when at lvl 6?” or “Hey mid, try not to play aggressive jungle is camping you” or “Hey top, just farm and attack when jungle gets there”. It’s all nice and all, that is, until you get matched with a teammate that hates being ordered around. This kind of teammate may ask nicely, but to another teammate this is considered being toxic. Like me to a certain extent, I hate when people tell me what to do. If I’m not making mistakes then I am for sure not going to let a teammate tell me what to do. I play for the team, not how he/she wants me to play. While I was still playing, this was usually the cause of most fights within a team. Someone calls out on someone for doing something wrong, someone keeps telling jungle what to do, etc, etc.
On the other hand we have the quiet teammate. They don’t necessarily talk in chat, but you will hear them ping if there’s an enemy gank about to happen, if an enemy is missing, or if they need help. But if this person is doing bad, you can expect to have the teammates to be really angry for not communicating efficiently. Someone who doesn’t talk in chat and is feeding can be mistakenly seen as someone who stopped trying to win or doesn’t care for the game. When in reality they are actually just shy and bad at the game. This doesn’t mean that you should flame your quiet teammate. Just let them know what they did wrong. I’m sure they will try their best to understand. Flaming your teammate lowers chemistry and lowers success in team fights.
A good teammate always tries their best and doesn’t talk crap about others. Yes you are allowed to hold each other accountable, but that doesn’t give you an excuse to be temperamental about it.

League of Legends Game Modes
League of Legends Game Modes
By Cedric B.
The Summoner’s Rift is the most played map in League of Legends for Ranked and Casual games, but there are more maps and game modes in League of Legends that makes this game unique from other MOBA Games.
ARAM (All Random, All Mid), is a permanent game mode that takes place in the Howling Abyss. It only has one lane and you randomly get a champion. In this game mode, Returning to the shop won’t allow you to heal and buy items, and you gain more experience and gold in this game mode compared to the Summoner’s Rift. You only have 5 turrets, 1 inhibitor, and 1 nexus in this game, which makes it perfect for players are want a quick game. ARAM is always available to play, unlike other game modes.
League of Legends has created a schedule of rotating game modes to let new (and veteran) players experience (once again) these game modes. Some examples of game modes are URF (Ultra Rapid Fire), One For All, and Legend of the Poro King.
URF takes place in the Summoners RIft but the only difference is that you have 80% cooldown reduction in all spells and abilities. One For All also takes place in Summoner’s Rift but the only difference is that members in the team will play the same champion, Legend of the Poro King takes place in the Howling Abyss, and the objective of this game mode is to win the game with the help of the Poro King, who later joins your team after hitting the enemy team with 10 Poros.
There are many more game modes in this game such as Ascension, Dominion (former permanent game mode) and Hexakill, but the ones that I chose are the most famous ones and are frequently released in the schedule.
Tip of the day! It’s always important to stay up to date on patch updates. We got you covered! Read about the all new League of Legends Patch 7.22 right here!
[ 西藻郎 ] - Dragon Trainer’s Field Guide
Character Profile: Twitch-The Plague Rat
Lore:The city-state of Zaun is a twisted realm of science, mercantilism, and magic run amok. While the young science of techmaturgy does much to advance civilization, its research and use in Zaun pushes the boundaries of morality on a daily basis. Zaun, choked with pollution from the countless factories and laboratories that spew waste into the environment, suffers greatly. As polluted as Zaun is above-ground, its subterranean levels are far worse. All of Zaun’s runoff waste pooled together in its sewers, mixing into a toxic and mysterious concoction. A single plague rat rose from this alchemical nightmare - Twitch. Unlike his lesser evolved cousins, Twitch became as sentient as anyone else… provided they were as insane as he. A seeming byproduct of the evolutionary brew that spawned him was maniacal insanity, albeit in a functional form.
Twitch came to the League of Legends to represent himself “as the only one of his kind” on the Fields of Justice. Since then, he has found a generous benefactor in the city that gave him his evolutionary sentience - Zaun. Twitch is one of Zaun’s premier champions in the League, and as such he fights for Zaun when political disputes between Valoran’s city-states arise. Twitch has publicly stated that his goal is to gain enough influence and material from his work in the League to try to recreate the process by which he gained his sentience. While many challenges lie ahead in his quest - one of the largest being his own insanity - were he to succeed, it would mean a bold and brazen step forward in the evolution of all of Runeterra. Zaun has pledged its support for Twitch in his quest, though it remains to be seen what Zaun’s ulterior motives are in the matter.
“The existence of Twitch proves that anything is possible on Runeterra.”

How to Play Support
You don’t. GG
Alright but for real.
Personally I’d prefer a tanky support. Don’t get me wrong, Soraka and Sona are nice to have. It’s just that they’re a little too easy to kill. Tanky supports makes it easier for carries to not take any damage since these champions will always be at the front and only at the front ready to ult/CC/etc. So let’s get started.
Early Game/Lane Phase: Pretty much you are the ADC’s bitch. Sorry but it’s the truth. If you make a mistake it’s always going to be your fault. “Why didn’t you ward bush” or “Why didn’t you attack with me” maybe even “Stop taking my farm” also “All: Report _____ (support name) for trolling.” Pretty much just protect your puny ADC and every now and then poke the enemy bot lane. When you’re level 6 you may try to take them out. Usually I’d call jungle to help out as well.
Mid Game: At this point you can finally be autonomous... well not really. What I do from now is that I let ADC do their thing now and I try to roam and help out other lanes and/or farm to get my build closer to completion. When you’re roaming just make sure you’re close to a teammate just so that you have someone to help counter enemy team if they’re trying to pick you off.
Late Game: Just position yourself correctly and land your ults/CC. For godsake don’t get picked off.
